Tea Party Idiocy on Full Display as Racism and Confederate Flag Displayed at White House Protest

white-house-protestAnyone who had heard about the Million Vet March on the Memorials knew this march wasn’t meant to be any kind of political statement.  Though you had to know that some participating in the march would participate based on their own political ideological beliefs.

You also shouldn’t be shocked that Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin and Mike Lee decided to turn the march in Washington DC into a photo-op for their own political gains.

That being said, the idiocy I witnessed when watching a video taken during a protest outside of the White House is deplorable.

Now I’m not certain what went on prior to the police being called — though a large angry group gathering outside the White House fence is cause for concern — but the police were called out to line the fence for a reason.  And after watching the video of the comments made during the 5-minute display of right-wing idiocy, I can see why they were called.

While the video plays, you hear, “This is a peaceful march!” yelled quite a few times.  Which is ironic coming from a group of people who are screaming and shouting at police officers.

You can also hear references to the gestapo shouted. Which, of course, is simply ridiculous.

Then we have the random idiot who can be heard saying, “looks like something out of Kenya,” which is an obvious derogatory remark about President Obama’s race.

What did some of these people expect?  A group of angry people standing outside the White House yelling and screaming would go ignored by authorities?  Sure, the White House is no stranger to protests.  Heck, there are probably protests every day.  But to call what I saw on this video “peaceful” is absurd.  You don’t “peacefully” do something by screaming and shouting at uniformed police officers.

That’s not peaceful.

Another protest was held that seemed to have a more tea party feel as many people around the White House carried signs supporting the impeachment of President Obama (again, he’s done nothing that warrants impeachment) and one speaker saying the president needs to put the Quran down and leave town.

Oh, and let’s not forget the confederate flag which was seen multiple times.

But these people aren’t racists at all, right?  Obama’s race has nothing to do with their vile hatred towards him, huh?  Oh please.  Hell, tea party icon “Joe the Plumber” just recently seemingly endorsed an article that flat-out said “America needs a white Republican president.”  Nope, no racism involved at all, nothing to see here.

These people just absolutely drip with ignorance.  Here we sit, the government is shut down due to the behavior of their party, yet they’re blaming President Obama?  Really?

They’re appalled that these memorials are shut down.  Well, what the hell did they think “shutdown” meant?  Yes, these memorials are shut down, that’s part of a “government shutdown.”  It’s what their party caused and what people like Ted Cruz and Rand Paul spoke out in favor of for the last several months.

But now this is President Obama’s fault?  Why?  Because he won’t allow Republicans to blackmail him into giving in to their demands?

These people are pathetic.  They’re driven by racism, ignorance and pure stupidity.

They call for Obama’s impeachment yet can’t name a valid reason why he should be impeached.  They stand there and attack his race, then seem shocked that people call them racists.  They stand there supporting a political party which wants to pretend to be angered at the closure of these veterans memorials—while their party often cuts funding for VA benefits.

This is just more of the same behavior from Republicans.  They’re blaming someone else for a problem they caused.  Their party is the one that’s not allowing the House to vote on the Senate’s clean continuing resolution that would reopen the government.  We could reopen the government today if John Boehner would just let the House vote, but he won’t.

So when these people show up at the White House holding symbols of racism and shouting things which are racist, while blaming President Obama for the government shutdown, they prove one glaring fact…

That they don’t know a damn thing.

awwww… did lil holden also fall down and go “BOOM” watching the latest tea party canard ( T CRUZ) show us all what and WHY the tea bag party is drying up?

      • Tammy Warnick

Actually, I’ve been to a Tea Party rally in D.C., and there were people of all different nationalities. But you wouldn’t know that since the MSM will never publish photos of anyone but white people waving the Battle Flag of Northern Virginia that has been dubbed the “Confederate Flag.”

    • Christine Nyland

Why didn’t his Tea Party friends tell him to,” Put that confederate flag away you’re making us look bad” ?

      • wings9191

Ok so if I go to a rally and take a picture of one idiot at a Wall Street rally holding some stupid sign I can blame the whole movement then?
I’m sure there will be an excuse for that too.

    • Aloanstar

They are. If you don’t see it, then you either have your head in the sand or up your ass. They aren’t mad about anything other than a black guy sitting in the highest position in the US.

  • JPAC

Great photo of the ONE GUY who brought a confederate flag (which does not necessarily denote racism) and run with to thereby call all those involved racist rather than address the points for which they are assembling . Very intellectual of you. Nicely done.

    • gemma liar

akin to the photos of tea party events highlighting the ONE African seen there

      • capurafarol

gemma liar- are you somehow implying that there is ‘NO WAY’ and African American could possibly be a Tea Partier. Wow, sounds racist to me!!

      • Mike McKallicuffy

that’s clearly not what they were implying.

Three of THE MOST PROMINENT tea partiers off the top of my head…Ted Cruz (Hispanic), Marco Rubio (Hispanic), Herman Cain (African-American), Governor Jindal (Middle-Eastern), Dr. Carson, Alan Keyes, Lloyd Marcus…. do I need to go on. By the way your math doesn’t exist.

      • capurafarol

You can’t just discredit a Republican of color just because you don’t like them. How many times has Cain been called a racist and he just laughs?? Your math doesn’t exist because with 535 people in Congress, you are stating that only 1 hundredth of one person in the entire Congress is of color. Yeah, you nailed that on the head didn’t you??

    • Mike McKallicuffy

if you search for other photos, you’ll see people holding both a confederate flag and a nazi flag. Also, a bunch of morons in white hoods.

      not even joking.

      • Jimmy

You may be “not even joking” but you are certainly lying.

      • Mike McKallicuffy

nope. do the research tea bagger.

      • capurafarol

        Stop trolling!!

      • Mike McKallicuffy

stop ignoring the truth about the tea party.

    • Nikkiru

So the Confederate flag, which began as a symbol of White supremacist treason against the United States, “does not necessarily denote racism?”

How many white people were held as slaves under the Confederacy?

      • Tammy Warnick

You need to Google “Battle Flag of Northern Virginia” and learn the actual meaning, not the meaning the politically correct tries to sell.

      • Nikkiru

Given that the Army of Northern Virginia was only formed to further the white suprecma treason which was the Confederacy, how about you just come out and try to enlighten me yourself?

Could it be that you really have no coherent point to make, which is why you’re relying on such a lame appeal to authority to make it for you?

      • Nikkiru

So are you claiming that the Army of Northern Virginia had some other purpose than furthering the white supremacist treason which was the Confederacy?

If so, don’t be shy and hide behind Google: come out and make your point, if you have one.

    • strayaway

If this guy and his flag are more important than a possible movement vets beginning to oppose President Obama, where are the interviews of this guy? Is he really a racist or DNC plant sent to discredit the vets?

      • Mike McKallicuffy

        he’s a racist.

  • Jimmy

“They call for Obama’s impeachment yet can’t name a valid reason why he should be impeached. ”
    I can name a few….shall I start?

Please do start and be sure you understand the rules of impeachment

    • gemma liar

as long as ther are legally the grounds needed ( and can be proven),,,,but since the crybaby regressives in congress have NOT even tried: your statement is nugatory

Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution says, “The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”
-The 4th Circuit Court of Appeals and the federal appeals courts in D.C. and Philadelphia ruled President Obama’s National Labor Relations Board recess appointments were unconstitutional. He has ignored this ruling.
-The Obama administration persistently and unilaterally ignores the law and grants favors and waivers to those they deem “worthy” such as the big business waivers for the healthcare mandate and declaring they would no longer deport illegal immigrants under 30.
-James Rosen was investigated by the DOJ, which subpoenaed his phone records and emails in direct contravention of the First Amendment.
-Bengazi deaths of 4 Americans including a US Ambassador surrounded with lies, misinformation, and cover ups
and the list goes on and on.

      • capurafarol

Keep going Jimmy, I know of at least 4-5 more just off the top of my head!!

      • Mike McKallicuffy

the only thing on top of your head is the scrotum you’re being tea-bagged with. :-D

      • capurafarol

I’m sorry, I’m not a Tea Partier or even a Republican, but it just goes to show how narrow minded you are to believe that every person who doesn’t agree with your ‘Savior’ Obama must be some kind of terrorist. Never mind all of the failed leadership, policies and laws this man has put into place and stood for. Never mind the constant lying, manipulating of the media, and broken promises. Forget about the apologies and poor example he is as an American. I hate to say it, but you have been herded and are now stuck in your invisible stall.

      • Mike McKallicuffy

“Obama must be some kind of terrorist”

you sure sound like a tea bagger to me.

      • capurafarol

Ha, ha, ha!! LOL!! Oh my gosh, thank you thank you for proving my point of how close minded and uneducated you are to pull that out of what I said!!! Obviously you flunked English comprehension because that is not what I said. You are taking lessons out of liberal media spin 101 I see!!

      • Mike McKallicuffy

“You are taking lessons out of liberal media spin 101 I see!!”
again, a very tea bagger style statement.

Good grief…..stop watching Fox. None of those hold water…and you are just robo copying and pasting the same old BS every right wing nut job outlet keeps trying to use. You know where you can put that list, right?

      • Jimmy

Let’s not be intellectually lazy on this. So you believe the president of the US is exempt from following the law? He took this oath….”I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
Article II Section 3 US Constitution
“He SHALL take care that the laws be faithfully executed”
Not “may” or “might” or “if he agrees” That alone “holds water” as you say. If you want to live in a dictatorship move. When your party won the election that does not result in the annulling of the constitution.

      • Aloanstar

You are just completely brainwashed ….there is really no need to talk to you about anything. It won’t happen. The majority of Americans elected Obama TWICE and will stand behind him….especially over the lunatic fringe trying to take over our government. Most people see through the BS, but there always a few like you or strayaway. Get your heads out of the sand and look around….there will not be an impeachment…period. Let them bring it up….they are already down to a 24% approval rating…let it sink lower…

      • capurafarol

Well you are right, there won’t be an impeachment and anyone who knows how the system works knows that won’t happen, but not because people are standing behind our President. Obama has the lowest approval rating in his history and people are fed up with the drama in Congress….ALL of Congress. You realize Obama didn’t win the election because people wanted him as President, he won the election because people didn’t want the other guy. Simple as that.

      • Jimmy

Still waiting for an intelligent rebuttal to my comment and quoting of the constitution. Random musings about how “brainwashed” I am won’t pass muster mister.

      • Mike McKallicuffy

the only people trying to ignore the constitution are the Tea-Publicans currently re-writing house rules to keep the government shut down.

you guys need to pull the tea-bags out of your eyes and see how you’re being manipulated through willful ignorance and general fear mongering.

      • strayaway

The President conducted acts of war against Libya, a Country which had not endangered us, by executive order and failed to observe the War Powers Act requirements.

      • gemma liar

so why your white trash shitbag regressive party done NOTHING??????????????????????? small dicked white trash jimmy still crying

      • capurafarol

Again, you need a political science class very badly. You have no idea how things work in Washington so your opinion can never be considered anything other than fiction.

  • Mitch

Not all Republicans are racists, but every racist is a Republican

    • capurafarol

You don’t even realize your own ignorance in this statement do you?

    • Aloanstar

I was reading a news article today about a Red Sox fan that took a woman’s HR ball from her and threw it back on the field….he had been ranting endlessly during the game and making racist comments to Detroit fans around him. They finally kicked him out and everyone around was so glad to see him go, they said “bye-bye”…and he looked at a black guy as he was being escorted out and said “bye, Trayvon!” Someone in the comment section said the story was liberal propaganda. So, if being against racism is liberal, then if you are not liberal you are racist? I have always just thought that treating people the way you would like to be treated was just the right thing to do….the human thing to do. Well, I am happy to be labeled a liberal.

I’ll Pray for your lost pathetic Souls . God Bless

How does one write expletives, degrade people and then claim they are prayerful? Sounds like a Chino to me, a Christian in name only.

  • capurafarol

“But to call what I saw on this video “peaceful” is absurd. You don’t “peacefully” do something by screaming and shouting at uniformed police officers.” Hmmmm, de ja vu?? I remember this exact situation when Occupiers were throwing bottles at police and screaming and yelling for no reason, while rape and drugs and alcohol were found everywhere throughout the camps, and yet Demoncrats claimed it was a “peaceful protest” and police were “just being racist.”

  • Jentex

These protestors were mostly truckers and vets! One protestor had a confederate flag. They were doing the president a favor by stacking g up the barricades he had wrongfully used taxpayer money to block the taxpayers open air monuments. They didn’t leave trash like the illegals who protested for amnesty last week, They were fed-up ANERICAN CITIZENS. who were speaking up against a White House that has become the Spite House!!! The cops were called in to try to cause problems. No one was hurt from what I understand. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

    • Aloanstar

Obama did not block or close any memorials. The GOP shut down the government…..do you think the people who work at these memorials want to volunteer their time? Each state is allowed to open their parks, but the state has to fund the openings. Federal money can not be used to pay the rangers or any other workers. The Federal government always pays the bill, but it’s kind of hard to do that when they are shut down. Not all vets agree with your lack of thinking. I am a vet and I am proud that Obama has not given in to stripping the ACA just because a handful of republican politicians are on a mission to self implode. The majority will remember and vote during the next election and we won’t be going through this crap again. Their poll numbers are going down everyday and rightly so.

    • Suzanne Smith

Jentex- Obama did NOT close down the country! Republicans did, teapublicans mostly. I LOVE my country, But hate this BS by overpaid, idiots who dont even know our true history, they are in the pockets of Corp greed mongers like the Koch Bros. and dont give a damn about Vets or seniors or kids. These idiots like Cruz and Palin see this as a Photo Op. when they should be hit in the head by these protesters. THEY are the ones who closed the Monuments, they are the ones who need to be run out on a rail !

    • Mike McKallicuffy

republicans in congress are the only ones responsible for the government shut down.

but hey, tea party nut jobs just love to blame Obama.

  • Jentex

Watch Fox News now you liars. He has veterans crying with what he has done to our country and specifically to them in his spiteful actions.

    • Pipercat

Well, what a coincidence! Fox news makes me cry too! Mostly from laughter, but sometimes by the intricate creations of falsehood, fear and fallacy; all the while, being distracted by leggy news models and their vapid outrage…. Gotta love Roger and Rupert.

    • Aloanstar

That is your problem. You should try watching and reading actual news, not opinions or propaganda BS on Fox.

    • Mike McKallicuffy

lol that’s why you’re so stupid. Fox news is for the brain dead.

  • libby real

I am constantly surprised at the racism, stupidity, and lack of civility by so many American’s. hey folks, we are in this together, as the whole world is on this planet together. Even though I did not like President Bush, I would not have done or said these things that show the ignorance and racism of the people doing it. Very sad. We need to work together to support each other and solve our problems. We vote, the majority wins, even in the tea party arena. That is why we have these representatives.
. But we are stuck with the system, and we need to have some respect for each other.

  • Cory

Pointing fingers really does this country tons of good, doesn’t it? What has this article accomplished?

    • wendy

scary FACTS…people need to ‘get it’…but your right, doesnt do any good if falling on deaf, ignorant ears.

  • Realist12

Unbelievable, vitriolic diatribe in this comment section. And you Tea Party people have the audacity to call yourself Americans?!? No way are you Americans — you are secessionists!

Remember…”united we stand, divided we fall”. Fortunately, we are onto you, Tea Party Idiots — you are treasonous and trying to bring down the federal government for your own selfish agenda. You need to be slapped up the side of the head and sent to the corner with a dunce cap on your heads!

    • Jimmy

You are calling the Tea Party treasonous for wanting to restore the federal government to its rightful place under the Constitution? How upside down is that? Read the Constitution, study it, then try to fit this overblown, tyrannical government and bureaucracy into what you find there. It won’t work.

      • Realist12

We live in a sophistcated, complex modern society, and we need a similarly sophisticated, modern government to work with our issues.
The original Thirteen Colonies in 1776 had a grand total population of just over 2.5 million people. The total population of the USA is presently a mind-boggling 312 million people! It’s not 1776 anymore, Jimmy!

Times change, people change, and support systems change with them. Stop your Tea Party friends from ruining what we already have in place – a government which works well for the majority of its citizens.

  • Thaddeus Whithed

These people are not dangerous, as their ignorance, racism, and delusion are on full display. The true danger is in the “reasonable” republicans, politicians and regular people alike, who keep quiet while these people take control of their party. The narrative is that they are too scared of them to voice opposition. In this case they are merely extreme cowards. But the more likely scenario is that they secretly agree with them.
