A Reminder to Republicans of Just How Bad Things Were Under George W. Bush

g-w-bush-idiotThe human mind fascinates me with the way it recalls past events in our lives.  Especially when it comes to politics.  People who complain now about how “terrible” President Obama has been, or that he’s the “worst president in history,” clearly have a distorted memory of the Bush presidency.

Has Obama been perfect?  Not at all.  Part of that is his fault, part of that is the unrealistic expectations many of us had for him when he was elected in 2008.  But most of it is the fact that upon his election in 2008, the GOP essentially crafted their strategy of opposing anything he supports.

A plan that was solidified when liberals allowed conservative voters to give Republicans control over the House of Representatives in 2010.  That was precisely the weapon they needed to block anything and practically everything.

But while conservatives often like to claim that President Obama is the “worst president in history,” I thought I’d remind them, and everyone else, of just how bad things were under George W. Bush.

Was his election not a foreshadowing of how terrible things would be in the next 4 years?  For the first time since 1888 we “elected” a president who lost the popular vote.  Could you imagine the conservative outrage if President Obama was elected president, yet lost the popular vote?  That might have been the catalyst that finally triggered a second Civil War.

Then just a few months later we saw the worst terrorist attack in United States history.

We can’t forget about the Iraq War and all of the weapons of mass destruction that we didn’t find.  It’s okay though, right?  Only 4,487 Americans died fighting a war that was based on lies.  The most since the Vietnam War.

There’s always Afghanistan.  You know, the war we started to get Osama bin Ladin – only Bush never got him.  President Obama did though.

Then don’t forget about the scandals like Abu Ghraib, Hurricane Katrina, the outing of a CIA official, veterans neglected at the Walter Reed hospital, Medicare Part D and a host of other scandals that plagued the Bush administration’s eight years.

But I wanted to get up to 2008, just as Bush was leaving office.  That summer, just before the entire economy officially collapsed, oil had hit its all-time high of $147 per barrel (right now it fluctuates between $95-105 on average throughout the year).  While gas prices aren’t cheap now, our country had never seen prices well over $4 per gallon like most of the country experienced that summer.

Then came September when the bottom officially started falling out.  But it wasn’t just that month.  We lost jobs every single month in 2008 (2.6 million in total).  The worst annual loss of jobs since 1945.

In his last three months in office, we lost a combined 1.7 million jobs.  In January 2009, his last month in office, we lost 598k jobs.

And let’s not forget he had just bailed out Wall Street, the American auto industry was on the verge of collapse, our deficits were out of control, our national debt was almost double what it was when he took office, the stock market was plummeting, millions of Americans were losing their homes and unemployment was skyrocketing out of control.

Then let’s also not forget that we were still engulfed in two wars.

Bush’s final approval rating was 22 percent

That’s the world in which we lived when George W. Bush left office in January 2009.

Where are we at today? Well:

  • Unemployment is down to 6.2%.
  • We’ve seen the best year of job gains since 1999.
  • Stocks have hit record highs.
  • 53 straight months of private sector job growth.
  • We’ve created 9.9 million jobs during that span.
  • We haven’t started any wars.
  • The rate of uninsured Americans fell to its lowest level since Gallup starting tracking the number in 2008.  Down almost 5 percent in just the last year alone.
  • Deficits have been cut in half.

Among many other things.

So, when conservatives say that we’re much worse off now than when President Obama took office, they’re either blatantly altering history to suit their talking points – or they have absolutely no damn idea what it is that they’re talking about.

This may all be true, but Bush wasn’t a Socialist, Communist, Fascist, Nazi, Kenyan, Islamic, Atheistic, America-Hating incompetent tyrant.
Therefore, according to conservative “logic”, Bush was great and Obama is horrid. Don’t you know that by now?

Neither is Obama **MY FRIEND** and as an example, The Dow is at record Highs….So Obama is the WORST Socialist on the face of the Planet…You are one of those people the author is speaking of…And BTW, I still Have my Guns…Do You?..WHAT? No one has come for them yet….Shit, He’s Had over 5 YEARS to get them…Silly Human…

      • Johnst

Hell, I’m still waiting for Clinton to come git r gunnnns like was so heavily promised to be coming from the right – back then..

        Never happened…

      • Elvis

Jim, excellent point. I still have my firearms, but I keep hearing Obama is coming for them. In fact, been hearing it for years now.

      • Gary Bonanno

The Dow being at “record” highs is a delusion….the stock market has always been at record highs just before the bubble bursts. How about 11 million more people on food stamps since 2009? How about TRILLIONS of dollars being thrown at the “War on Poverty” and yet there are more people living in poverty….Oh, I know, it’s the conservatives fault. Ummm, just to show that conservatives can count, the federal debt is currently at 17 trillion (up from 10 trillion in 2009)….7 trillion in increase is seventy percent, um, basically, close to double what it was when Obama took office.

      • miketothad

Wow… You’re willfully ignorant AND desperately pulling things out of your _ss.

      • Gary Bonanno

I don’t need to pull anything out of my 4th point of contact. You are more than welcome to review the numbers. Even I know that 17 is bigger than 10. But math isn’t a progressive forte, I know.

      • miketothad

Bagger please… Spin it any way you need… W left the economy in tatters, and it’s clear the real GOP country club wouldn’t spit on a nobody idiot like you. God knows you morons didn’t make a peep about the deficit until W left office.

      • Gary Bonanno

Ah, you can’t out argue me (because the facts are true) so you reduce it to name calling. For your information douche canoe, the deficit wasn’t as big an issue as the debt under either President, but you wouldn’t know the difference between debt and deficit if it bit you in the arse. You’ve proven that you’re a typical useless “progressive” that is all about big government, fiscal irresponsibility and partisan politics. You wouldn’t even know WHERE to start to look for the truth let alone be able to determine what the truth is because you have your nose so far up the progressive hind end that you can almost see daylight. “Bagger please”. Leaping to conclusions makes you look like an idiot. But in your case, you ARE an idiot, so the look fits.

      • miketothad

I’ll call you what you are Jethro. W told the American people he didn’t care where OBL was, 6 months after 9-11. Why? Because he knows the his supporters/defenders make up the duymbest electorate in the industrialized world. You want math, Jethro? Please explain how you’ve lost women, Catholics, and every ethnic minority group in existence You want history? Please explain how your GOP hasn’t balanced a budget since Eisenhower? Please explain why the GOP base is 90% white. Please explain why 50% of the GOP base doesn’t know what GOP means? Please explain why 95% of the world’s scientists agree that global warming is real, yet your GOP doesn’t. Please explain why your GOP opposed a bring jobs back to America bill, a bill that put veterans back to work, a consumer protection bill, opposed taking the banks out of student loans…? Why is it your GOP constantly enacts even more state level tax breaks that 95% of you don’t even qualify for? Why is it Mitt Romney told you that Chrysler was moving to China? Why did Bobby Jindal just pass a bill blocking BP from lawsuits? Because they know that you’re a bunch of easily exploited trash, and they know you’ll let Wall St. and corporations have their way with you drooling half_wits, as long as they sell you a bunch of anti-immigrant, anti-poor, anti-gay, anti-women, anti-minority hate speech. Look at you. Rush wants to hate the Pope now, and you go along like a bunch of slow children, because your President is a Black man.

      • Gary Bonanno

Talk about ignorant. By the way, the Democratic Party is the party of the south dipstick. You can’t argue facts so you resort to names, because like EVERY “progressive” you’re keyboard tough. You’re a mouthpiece for idiots. Shoot you might even be the head idiot because you’re too stupid to see the truth, but hey, every circus has to have a clown and apparently that would be you in this Big Top. Ciao, suckwad.

      • disqus_QvHfRDRcN9

How can you say the Democratic Party is the party of the south when all the “southern states” are red states and led by Republicans? You just displayed your intelligence in that one (or lack of it). And no, I didn’t call you any names!

      • Ralph Kolstad

it is kind of too bad,,,,u actually seem to have far above the average intelligence than the usual .5wit yokel repulsican,,,,,keep it up fox news!!!

      • Jim Boyd

        MAKE THAT FOX VIEWS

      • guest

Where is your step-by-step, bulleted rebuttal as requested? That’s because YOU can’t argue with facts.

      • Gary Bonanno

For he who is too much of a coward to use his name, I can argue facts all day, but it’s pissing in the wind with you sheeple. Do your own d*&ned research and find out the facts rather than swallowing Kool Aid. Like I said, Got way more important crap to do than argue with ignorance. I took the time to respond to you because you’re too much of a coward to share who you are. If you’re so proud of your stand, then why do you hide as a “Guest”? Because you know the sheeple are full of crap. As I said, the “progressive” war on poverty is more of a failure than the Dems turned Vietnam into. Fifty years and yet more people living in poverty. If there were a general in charge, he’d be court martialed and fired with a record like that.

      • winterman77

The party of the South? Never mind. You’re an idiot.

      • Gary Bonanno

You’re obviously an uneducated dipshit. Try opening a history book and discovering the “roots” of the Democratic party.

      • Ralph Kolstad

        save yer breath,,,,it wont work,,,,

      • Ralph Kolstad

be thankful things arent like my ol’ man sez cuz there would be roving bands of vigilantes taking care of this garbage,,, the world would be a better place,,,,

      • Jim Boyd

Gary….some jerk is posting on this site and using your name…

      • Gary Bonanno

Why don’t you look at the irresponsible fiscal programs that were put in place by your boys Jimmy and Bill and then you’ll know why the bubble burst in 2008. I’ll help you with the big words. Here’s a hint, they removed all of the restrictions on sub prime mortgages LONG before W. was in office, hence the bank collapse. So, we’ve proven that math AND history aren’t your forte.

      • miketothad

Call yourself whatever you need, ignorant trash. You’re a lapdog for Wall St., and your GOP tells you right to your face. “Corporations are people too”, right? Your GOP STILL runs on anti-regulation policies Your “job creators” took W’s tax breaks, then wiped themselves with you idiots. Good lapdog.

      • jericho

Tell ya what, Bonnano. From day one we’ve heard that Obama “needs to stop blaming GWB” as the GOP pretends that American history started on 1/09.

If by some odd chance we end up with a GOP president in ’16, I cannot f’in WAIT to tell you that he doesn’t get to blame Obama for ANYTHING.

      • Gary Bonanno

You mean like GW did when he took over from Clinton? Reagan did when he took over from Carter, Nixon did when he took over from LBJ. Oh wait, that’s right, they didn’t. They just pulled up their big boy pants and fixed the problems rather than blaming the last guy. In fact, even the FIRST Republican President (that would be Lincoln) didn’t blame the last guy. And who had more justification than Lincoln? See, I keep forgetting that this site is a place where all the sheeple meet and bleat out how wonderful being a “progressive” is and how much our lives are “enriched” by following the “progressive” agenda that calls for bigger government, more governmental involvement and fiscal irresponsibility. And then they talk about the awful Republicans that keep obstructing their agenda, conveniently forgetting the years that they did it to the last President. In fact the two biggest obstructionists were Senators Obama and Clinton. And then they drink some more of the “progressive” Kool Aid and rebleat the latest lies that they have heard from MSNBC. Silly me, for thinking that you might actually be able to take a look around and see that you’re being lied to. You might actually be able to read a book and learn that the direction we are heading is NOT the direction that was intended. I’m done. Bleat on. All I ask is that you take a candid look at your life and ask, “Am I better off than I was five years ago?” Nah, can’t be honest with yourself, because then you’ll have to admit that you’ve been sold a bill of goods and you didn’t get what you expected in your little “progressive” box.

      • jericho

Maybe you can tell us what the GOP’s plan is for infrastructure, health care, deficit reduction, innovation, immigration, education, foreign policy, any of the major issues that are facing this country? And be specific, please. Even just one-sentence bullet points…and not just platitudes about “freedom!” or “tax cuts.” The GOP is defined more by what they oppose than what they propose these days, because they can’t roll out a single idea that doesn’t have a sell-by date of 1994 on it.

Oh, and maybe you can tell us who the GOPer is that’s gonna take the White House in 16 while you’re at it.

      • really!?

Do your country a favor and stop smoking crack

      • miketothad

Do your country a favor and read a newspaper.

      • Mark Fielding- Pritchard

You have people dying of toothache. In Iraq they had free medical, dental and eduction until the US arrived and decimated the place. Yet dispite the chronic shortages of funding Obama can give Proshenko $5bn to finance a putsch in Ukraine, and for what. When you get up the morning is your day better because that day your Government will spend $2bn dollars in the middle east, can you feel the air is a little fresher? Your mother in law has to choose between visiting the doctor and visiting her grand kids so maybe that is a plus

      • Ralph Kolstad

if u can remember,,,,Clinton wiped out our national debt,,,,it was a good thing ol’ w came along to correct that problem,,,,right?

      • Corey Vire

no he didn’t he helped balance the budget. huge difference.

      • Ralph Kolstad

still,,,,repulsicans wanted to impeach him for getting a hummer,,,,,

      • Ralph Kolstad

that was between him and his wife only,,,,

      • Ralph Kolstad

        outstanding use of taxpayers money

      • Corey Vire

No, they wanted to impeach him for perjury.

      • Jero

Balance the budget? What kind of stupid are you on? 3 unfunded wars put on credit, tax breaks for corporations and other big business, deregulation of the banking industry that led to the biggest collapse in history?

      • Corey Vire

I was talking about Clinton. Clinton and the congress passed 2 balanced budgets. Please. learn to read and follow a conversation. Also It was far from the biggest collapse in history. People spend so much time using hyperbole. Worst this. Worst that. There was this thing called the Great Depression that lasted from the 1920’s to the 1940’s. The banks and mortgage industry were deregulated by democrats. The subprime market was made available to people who should have never ever been allowed to use them. People got greedy then cried boo hoo when the bills came due.

      • Charles Vincent

UMM it was 1929 that’s hardly all of the 1920’s

        http://en DOT wikipedia DOT org/wiki/Wall_Street_Crash_of_1929

      • Corey Vire

Yes hardly. Still worse. I was a kid in the 70’s during the oil crisis. That was worse that this “great recession”. Great Depression still longer than current recession.

      • Gary Bonanno

Another MSNBCer that confuses debt with deficit. Two different things. The DEFICIT (how much the budget exceeds the income) wasn’t “wiped out”. There was a surplus which Bush returned to the tax payers in order to stimulate the economy with a transfusion of extra income. It was short sighted because what it ACTUALLY did is cause people to squirrel it away. The DEBT is the continuous accumulation of the deficit….how much money the country owes in obligations….In Bush’s 8 years, the DEBT went up about five trillion dollars….In Obama’s first let’s call it 200 days, the debt went up about 7 trillion dollars and has hovered there since then. Thanks for playing though…..Disqus, why don’t you take a look at the historical foundings of the Democratic party and you’ll see that I DID display my intelligence and by you opening your mouth you displayed YOUR lack of intelligence. You’ll have to go back to about the mid 1800s for you to find what you’re looking for. But again, thank YOU for playing as well.

      • Ralph Kolstad

thats bs,,,,obama stepped up to try to turn around what that imbecile almost destroyed,,,,that morons ventures pre-prez was nothing but failures,,,,everything he touches he destroys

      • Jim

That’s funny because every President’s first year of his four year term operates under the previous President’s budget. I believe 200 days fits into that first year. You like to accuse people of not understanding facts but I believe you missed a big one there. So yea, attach that 7 Trillion to G.W. Bush. And guess what? No name calling needed to point out how ridiculously stupid you are making yourself look. Thanks for playing though!

      • strayaway

Harding didn’t. Unemployment did go up to 11% when he first came to office but he took corrective action. He cut federal spending and taxation. Within two years, unemployment was down to 3.6%. Hoover/Roosevelt and Bush/Obama did the opposite and stretched out the bad times.

      • Charles Vincent

Clinton monkied the numbers by fiddling with the money in the SS fund to create a “Surplus” L2Read CBO budget analyses.

      • C. Howell

You are using statistics that are the result of the recession. can you name anything in the last 25 years the Republicans have written ,supported, championed, etc that helps the poor, children, women, workers, minorities, students, etc?

Did you know that the elderly used to have a 40 % Poverty rate?

      • “How about 11 million more people on food stamps since 2009?”

That goes along with the unemployment rate. As more people get jobs, the SNAP program will be needed less.

“Ummm, just to show that conservatives can count, the federal debt is currently at 17 trillion (up from 10 trillion in 2009)”

Are you counting interest and ongoing, non-negotiable, spending?

      • Gary Bonanno

But according to “progressives”, unemployment is at the lowest level since 2007. So, that argument doesn’t work that we’ll need less food stamps. You would think that after 7 years, people would be jumping off food stamps. Maybe, it means that people have stopped LOOKING for jobs or have already exhausted their unemployment or are just plain underemployed and are still receiving food stamps. As for the federal debt, no the principle alone is at almost 17.7 trillion dollars. The debt with interest is at sixty one trillion dollars.

      • Employment numbers have always lagged well behind actual jobs.

      • Gary Bonanno

Again, so your point? So, what you are saying is that the umemployment numbers are actually LOWER? Which means that LESS people should be receiving food stamps. Here is why your argument doesn’t work. It has to do with the index that they use to determine unemployment. It is based on how many people are receiving unemployment benefits and the amount of people that APPLY for unemployment during the period….So, if your benefits have run out, you aren’t receiving benefits OR applying for benefits so you fall in a “dead zone” where you don’t really “count” towards unemployment rates. Politicians insist on using the method that is used because it skews the numbers in a more positive light. But, if I’ve run out of benefits and am still unemployed, I’m still unemployed. And there is the quandary of the “progressives” – they want to use the unemployment numbers to measure the success of the administration but then they want to disregard the unemployment numbers when demanding unemployment benefits to be extended.

      • That’s not what I said at all.

Just to show the world how stupid you look, Liberals are Socialists/Communists/Fascists
First, all three of these are different ideologies. You can’t be all three. Besides, while you do often find far-left liberals who are true socialists, neo-Nazi’s are found on the far-right. You know, the fascists. Second, this belief that “socialism” is completely terrible is ridiculous. Public roads, public schools, the post office, our military, the police, fire fighters, public drinking water, stop signs, traffic lights, our national parks, the Interstate Highway system, our country’s largest universities, Social Security, Medicare – all brought to us by some form of socialism. Just to name a few. So unless conservatives oppose all of those things, they’re supporting some forms of socialism as well. Alright, I’ll go ahead and wrap this up. While I know it probably won’t make any difference with most conservatives, I just thought I’d write out a pretty straight-forward and simple common sense guide for addressing these five popular conservative talking points. The Next National Nightmare: A Republican Majority Congress in 2015. Let’s start with the federal budget. The latest plan put forth by Rep. Paul Ryan, the House budget architect, distilled “every form of right-wing lunacy,” Democratic Florida Rep. Alan Grayson said in April. Ryan released his 100-page budget bill at 7pm on a Friday and Democrats had to file their amendments by noon the following Monday, Greyson noted, calling it a typical strong-arm tactic. Today, those proposals go nowhere in a Democratic Senate. But what would the GOP do if it could? “It’s all in there,” Grayson wrote in a Huffington Post column: “Tax cuts for the rich, the so-called ‘job creators.’ Tax cuts for multinational corporations, the other so-called ‘job creators.’ (Why don’t we ever call them by their real name, job exporters?) Cuts in middle-class tax benefits, like deduction for pension benefits and IRAs, to pay for this (Robin Hood in reverse). Cuts in Medicaid and food stamps, because, you know, the Republicans want to make millions of sick, hungry people more self-reliant. A legal requirement to force the president to cut Social Security benefits and/or raise Social Security taxes, to make Obama do the Republicans’ dirty work for them. Big jumps in student loan interest rates. And massive increases in military expenditures.” There’s more devilish details. Right now, Medicaid—state-run healthcare for the poor—pays below-market reimbursements. Under Obamacare, many blue states used additional federal funds to extend Medicaid coverage to millions of uninsured people. Ryan’s plan, however, seeks to cut $732 billion in future Medicaid spending. That would hit children, elderly and disabled people the hardest, wrote Bruce Leslie of First Focus Campaign for Children. Similarly, you could expect a GOP-controlled Congress to pass bills ordering federal agencies they don’t like to issue new rules that would stymie specific programs, such as how Obamacare works at Health and Human Services, or gutting new power plant emission standards at EPA. You could also expect Republican vendettas to try to block Democratic governors from tackling problems that have been frozen in Congress. As the Times reported Thursday, the House’s new Majority Leader, California Rep. Kevin McCarthy, pledged to block funds for California Gov. Jerry Brown’s biggest response to climate change: a high-speed rail link between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Other examples were cited, suggesting that extreme stances by the GOP leadership could become law.

      • Your next round of shots and brew are on me. Devastating explanation. I love truth.

      • Dave

        Thanks!

      • jessanders

        Wow… Ever heard of sarcasm?

Or, maybe you just chose to not read the rest of his post.

      • Dave

        I read his post.

      • jonjstrine42

Then you completely missed the snark.

      • Lokari

Speaking of looking stupid, did you miss the part where jonjstrine42 was employing satire/sarcasm?

      • Dave

My post is directed at all who believes that nonsense!

      • Gary Bonanno

Yes, some form of socialism along with welfare and food stamps and Medicaid and other ways to keep poor people poor.

      • Dave

Wow, I guess you people are really that stupid!
So, the man who pretended to feed the poor at a soup kitchen has released his plan for welfare
reform. This week, Paul Ryan, who cashed federal support checks in the form of social security payments after his dad died, wants to stop federal support of the needy. Congressman Ryan would like to fund states with block grants replacing
programs that he says don’t work.

Well, washing dishes that aren’t dirty might be the perfect symbolism for Paul Ryan. What programs
does Ryan say need scrubbing? Head Start and Medicaid to name two. And,according to Ryan’s recently released report entitled “Expanding
Opportunity in America,” he’s poised to rob programs like food stamps, public housing and early childhood education so he can fund state by state programs tailor made by individual state
governments. “In participating states, the federal government would consolidate a number of means-tested programs into a new Opportunity Grant (OG) program. The largest contributions would come from SNAP, TANF, child-care, and housing-assistance programs, and the funding would
be deficit-neutral relative to current law.”

Really? Leaving it up to the individual states to provide for the poor? Has anyone noticed how decentralizing help has negatively impacted healthcare access for the poor in the states who have refused expanded Medicaid?

It doesn’t just hurt the poor. It hurts the communities in which they live. A September 2013 Bloomberg report indicated that municipalities suffered in the states refusing the federal dollars that accompanied the Affordable Care Act. Municipalities denied by state governments the federal funds they needed to run their hospitals and care for the indigent, had bond ratings lowered and found it more difficult to pay their debts. When states start picking and choosing who to help, responsible municipalities or municipalities with
more income challenged folks will face even greater obstacles.

The failure of states to appropriately avail themselves of the expanded federal dollars isn’t just costing real money at the municipal level,
it’s costing lives. A 2012 Harvard University study reveals that 1 out of every 176 poor folks – living in states that do not expand their Medicaid roles to include them – will die because of it. In 2014,
that’ll work out to more than 27,000 dead poor people.

Let’s do the math, 27,000 times 172? That’s a lot of poor people: about 5 million. And what helps poor people stop being poor? Better jobs, of
course. But that’s another thing that’s missing in the states that refused Medicaid expansion. The same Harvard study showed – for example
        – “In Texas, where 1 in 4 residents are uninsured, not only could nearly 6,000 lives be saved by expansion, but 300,000 jobs could be created by adding $67.9 billion a year in economic activity.”

So, Ryan’s got the answers. Take every federal program that’s hamstrung by having too many idiotic regulations attached – and yeah, Ryan’s right about that – and turn the cash over to individual states where an exponentially greater number of idiot rule makers make the ones in Washington look like rank amateurs.

Welfare started out as a way to help kids back in 1935. Title IV of the Social Security Act was written by two women, Grace Abbott and Katherine
Lenroot, who wanted to help children. And those children were in families lead mostly by single moms.

If you read Ryan’s recent rants, you’d start thinking the whole single mother head of impoverished
household thing was something new and invented by welfare, instead of what welfare was created to address.

Before the ink was dry on the plans Abbot and Lenroot penned to curtail poverty in the United
States, men in the White House and on Capitol Hill began blaming the poor and punishing the recipients. And ironically, in the early days –
the 30 years prior to the 1960’s War on Poverty reforms that made uniform the help and the hurt done in the name of public assistance – most of the punishments were metered out at the state level because that’s how the original welfare programs were administered. Something Paul Ryan clearly doesn’t know or refuses to admit, because the
congressman insists his ideas are new.

Most notable of all the recent reforms made by men like Ryan who don’t understand what it’s like to be a woman in need of help were the restrictions agreed to by President Bill Clinton and House Speaker Newt Gingrich. No one should be surprised that the 1997 changes made by those
two notorious womanizers left punishing women as their greatest legislative legacy. Likewise no one should be surprised that the man who pretended to help the poor writes legislation that hurts them.

      • Gary Bonanno

Another “progressive” that loves poor people so much that he’s willing to keep them poor. The “War on Poverty” that was begun by LBJ in the 1960s has cost American taxpayers trillions of dollars in 50 years and the sum result? There are MORE people living in poverty and they are often second and even third generation welfare recipients. “Progressives” will give you enough to keep you happy enough to vote for them but won’t provide you with enough to rise out of poverty. Come on, apply logic. Why would a program that is funded because it “helps” poor people want to eliminate poverty? That’s job security, baby! That would be like a light bulb company creating and marketing a light bulb that never burns out. Keep ’em poor and keep ’em dependent, just keep them voting for us. Wake up!

      • Dave

Passing Obama’s jobs act and raising the minimum wage, creating 13 million + plus good paying jobs. It’s the CONs that are keeping people poor!

      • Gary Bonanno

LMAO!!!!! Sure they are. And what flavor is the Kool Aid today? Apparently it’s tasty because you’re drinking an awful lot of it. More important things to do than try to deal in logic with an illogical person. It’s like casting pearls before swine. Progressives appreciate logic just as much.

      • Dave

History lesson for dumb republicons, The human mind fascinates me with the way it recalls past events in our lives. Bush’s final approval rating was 22 percent. That’s the world in which we lived when George W. Bush left office in January 2009. Where are we at today? Well:
        Unemployment is down to 6.2%.
We’ve seen the best year of job gains since 1999.
        Stocks have hit record highs.
53 straight months of private sector job growth.
We’ve created 9.9 million jobs during that span.
        We haven’t started any wars.
The rate of uninsured Americans fell to its lowest level since Gallup starting tracking the number in 2008. Down almost 5 percent in just the last year alone.
Deficits have been cut in half.
        Among many other things.
So, when conservatives say that we’re much worse off now than when President Obama took office, they’re either blatantly altering history to suit their talking points – or they have absolutely no damn idea what it is that they’re talking about.

      • Gary Bonanno

Reading lesson for stupid “progressives”….I never said that Obama was the “worst” president. I’ve FORGOTTEN more American history than you’ll ever know. And despite low oil prices, we seem to have much higher gas prices, I wonder why that is? Yeah, stocks hit record highs before EVERY crash of the market. Fifty three months of private sector job growth and yet the Dems are asking for unemployment extensions? Either more Americans are working or they’re not. You just proved you’re a Kool Aid sucker. So the rest of your post is just drivel that you keep spewing from the pages of MSNBC. Poor deluded progressive. Maybe you’ll learn. Probably not, but even a monkey can be taught sign language, so there is SOME hope for you.

      • Dave

Greed! America’s top export is gasoline. Hoax; Tax Cuts Create Jobs
This is the cornerstone behind trickle-down economics. Which, of course, is the heart and soul of the Republican economic philosophy. Honestly does anyone really think a corporation creates jobs based on their tax rate? Heck, does anyone think a corporations creates jobs just for the sake of creating jobs? Businesses create jobs typically because they have to. Mostly because demand for their products or services dictates that they do. If a business is meeting demand, then suddenly a massive tax cut is passed, who really believes the next thing on their agenda will be to create jobs that they really don’t need? If a business is meeting demand, no matter how low their tax rate is, they’re not going to create more jobs. The same rule applies if demand goes up. No matter the tax rate, a company is not going to risk deflating growing demand based upon their tax rate. They’ll create jobs to meet that demand. Because if they don’t, some other company will, and they’ll soon be out of business.
I thought I’d finally give in and make a list of a few things Republicans can blame on President Obama:

Job losses were cut by more than 50% within his first 4 months in office.
He saved the American auto industry.
Has cut our deficits by more than half.
        Killed Osama bin Ladin.
Got Syria to give up their chemical weapons without firing a single shot.
Presided over record breaking stock levels (with the Dow just recently closing over 17,000 for the first time in its 118-year history).
Reduced unemployment from 10% to 6.1%.
We just saw the fastest first quarter of job growth in the United States since 1999.
The quickest drop in unemployment in 30 years.
52 straight months of private sector job growth.
9.7 million private sector jobs created.
Over 8 million people signed up for health care thanks to the Affordable Care Act.
Millions of Americans have gained, or kept, health care coverage thanks to Medicaid expansions and being able to stay on their parents’ insurance longer.
He hasn’t started a single war.
Hasn’t tried to confiscate a single gun.

I could go on, but I think that’s a good enough list of things Republicans can blame on President Obama. Though I’m sure many Republicans reading this aren’t aware of most of what I just listed, because Fox News rarely reports any of that.

      • Gary Bonanno

I’ll agree that greed has a lot to do with gas prices…And no, America is the #1 exporter of OIL, not gas, due to the shale oil that we are leaders in producing. We’ve already discussed record breaking stock levels….they always go up just before the bubble bursts. The quickest drop in unemployment in 30 years? Then why are “progressives” always bitching about the failure to extend unemployment benefits? If so many people are working, why do they need more unemployment benefits? Maybe the numbers are a little skewed. Maybe, people have either run out of benefits or have stopped looking for jobs? Nah, that couldn’t be it. Yep, 7.1 million Americans lost their insurance coverage after being told “If you like your plan you can keep your plan” and 7 million people signed up for ACA. So, net results on ACA a deficit of 100K. Oh, and by the way, unless Obama is a magician, he didn’t kill ANYBODY in Pakistan. He was sitting in the Situation Room, remember? Some REAL military people were out there doing the job. See, that’s the proof of a true leader, he accepts the RESPONSIBILITY when things go wrong and gives the GLORY to the troops when things go right. But MSNBC doesn’t list that when they’re busy skewing the numbers and the facts for the president so that all of the Kool Aid drinkers can have “facts” when they try to prove their case. But, like a gold plated turd, scratch the surface and the true crap is always right underneath. But “progressives” are too lazy to scratch the surface.

      • Dave

U.S. oil exports have been banned for 40 years. And you should NEVER cut benefits in a tough economic time. How ever passing the American Jobs Act would end that. The government did NOT force insurance companies to cancel their own substandard policies. The insurance companies CHOSE to that rather than do what is right and bring the policies up to date!

      • strayaway

Are you claiming that no Alaskan oil ever went to Japan in the last forty Years?

“If you’re one of the more than 250 million Americans who already have health insurance, you will keep your health insurance — this law will only make it more secure and more affordable.” – President Obama 6/28/12

But those policies we could keep couldn’t be sold anymore because they didn’t cover new requirements. The insurance companies just offered new policies including these new requirements and raised the price to pay for the additional coverage. The President “was wrong”.

      • Dave

The government did NOT force insurance companies to cancel their own substandard policies. The insurance companies CHOSE to that rather than do what is right and bring the policies up to date!

      • strayaway

Read my previous last paragraph a couple of times before repeating inanities. When policies expire, new ones are written, in this case with more government required coverage often for things some people can’t use. To keep their profits up, companies charge more for providing more coverage. If companies find something more profitable to do with their money, they will do that instead. Don’t expect companies to act stupidly to make the (un)ACA work. Why don’t you “do what is right” and personally shell out some money to help people afford medicine? That is exactly what you are asking others to do.

      • Dave

Just like I said above. Anyway that’s how insurance works, everyone pays premiums into the slush fund which is used to pay claims. Duh!

      • strayaway

Not like what you said, “The insurance companies CHOSE to that rather than do what is right and bring the policies up to date!” In most cases, the insurance companies offered new policies and higher prices to cover more things.

When retirees have to pay for insuring 25 year old students who moved away 20 years ago and have to pay for Sandra Fluke’s birth control, their premiums have to go up (Duh). You think the insurance companies should swallow the increases. I don’t. This isn’t yet Venezuela where everything from food and toilet paper to electricity is getting scarce because of government pricing mandates.

      • Dave

Your premiums have always payed and always will pay the claims of others, including contraceptives. Get over it!

      • strayaway

I’ve never heard that all policies always covered contraceptives for senior citizens. Prove it. If so, what was Sandra Fluke doing making a fool of herself in front of Congress? This time it was different. To make this clusterfuck work, traditional policies had to be saddled with more useless coverage so money could be redistributed. It was a a de facto tax on Americans making more than $200,000/year. Obama said that he would never do that. That was a lie as was the cost of the average family policy going down $2,500/year and if you want to keep your doctor and insurance plan, you can. All lies.

      • Dave

I’m not interested in your right wing bullshit. The only people that lied to you is fox news and the CONS.

      • strayaway

Dave, On Tuesday Rep. Justin Amash won his primary battle against Karl Rove and the national Republican party even though outspent. People who think that all non-Democrats are the same and nelieve Fox news are out of the loop. Keep your blinders on. They befit you. Imagine a representative who fights government spying on Americans, giveaways to Israel and Arab countries, wars not declared by Congress, and the rest of the Constitution. No wonder Karl Rove tried to unseat him and, of course, there is no room for someone like that in the Democratic party anymore.

      • winterman77

If by some stretch you are talking about the Tea Party whack a doodles you are delusional.

      • Dave

        Like I said last time…….

      • If you are getting either Social Security or SSDI payments you are on Medicare.

      • strayaway

I receive neither, believe that all citizens who pay into either should receive their due, would like both programs block granted to states, but brought neither into this conversation. I was only addressing the costs borne by insurance companies and those companies’ unwillingness to do anything gratis.

      • winterman77

The insurance companies don’t even sell anything? Can you hold insurance in your hand? Can you eat insurance? NO it is a profiteering racket. They are greed mongers and they killed single payer which would have put them out of business or made them sell policies at realistic prices. We need more insurance reform not less.

      • strayaway

The (un)ACA thugs prevented Vermont from having a truly affordable single payer plan modeled after those of Canadian provinces. That being the case, I encourage you to get together with other like minded people, form a caring insurance company, and sell health insurance for less than other greedy companies.

      • Stocks and jobs are two completely different things.

The stock market rely’s on perception. If someone thinks that the stock for something is going rise, then they will invest in buying stock for it. Whether it actually does rise is something else.

Jobs rely solely on what is necessary in every day life. And because jobs are the last of the economic indicators to rise, or fall, they are the last to affect the social safety net programs.

      • Gary Bonanno

Don’t you think that in SEVEN years, there would have been a downward trend in people receiving food stamps rather than an increase, if things were so rosy in the job market?

      • Where did I say that things were rosy in the job situation?

      • Gary Bonanno

Please read the drivel that the original author wrote…He claims that the unemployment rate being at 6.2 percent is a GOOD thing. You also said that as more people become employed, less will be on food stamps…Yet, MORE people are on food stamps than in 2009….If there were improvements in the job market for 53 continuous months (as the author stated) then there would be a downward trend in food stamps. Sure I don’t expect to see an immediate decline or even a noticeable decline in the first year or so, but after 53 months, there should be SOME decline, NOT an increase. It’s basic math, isn’t it? Kind of like 17 being more than 10.

      • I really like what you have written, but it’s very difficult to read without paragraphs.

      • Ralph Kolstad

        GODDAMNED RIGHT!!!!

      • jonjstrine42

Um… it was sarcasm. I understand that they’re all different ideologies. That’s why I included them all. I was trying to sound like a typical RWNJ. Apparently I did too good of a job.

    • FactoryGuy

People, get a grip….jonjstrine42 is displaying a keen sarcastic wit here….

      • jonjstrine42

Thank you. Apparently that fact was lost on most people. I figured by putting “logic” in quotes that it would be clear.

    • fucking wow

Nice shit flinging you did there, any facts to support your opinion?

    • Diane Yazdani

Your an idiot! Sad to think your an American!!

      • jonjstrine42

So, you erased your comment saying, and I quote, “Your an idiot! Sad to think your an American!!”
What’s the matter? Realize afterwards that I was being sarcastic and you didn’t want to look like, dare I say, an idiot?
And FYI, it’s “you’re”, not “your”. Idiot.

    • disqus_QvHfRDRcN9

      And neither is Obama! :)

      • jonjstrine42

        Yes. I know.

    • Ralph Kolstad

      yeah,,,,like u know the difference,,,,

      • jonjstrine42

Please explain your comment. I don’t know the difference between what and what?

    • johnnyapparatus

I don’t think your sarcasm translated with some commenters.

      • jonjstrine42

Yeah. I noticed that. I figured the quotes around “logic” and putting Islamic right next to Atheistic would’ve been a big enough clues. I guess I was wrong.

    • really!?

He was just simply satan, lucifer, beelzebub just to name a few

      • jonjstrine42

I wouldn’t go that far. I may not have liked GWB, but I truly believe in my heart that the things he did, he did because it was what he thought was best for the country. Yes, I’m sure his donors and such were also on his mind. But I have never believed he had any ill intent.
That’s what gets me about the Tea Party faction. They honestly believe that President Obama is willfully trying to destroy the country, all because they disagree with his policies. It’s sickening.

    • fooman184

      You R a immature Racist slob…..jonjstrine42

      • jonjstrine42

So what you’re saying is that you don’t understand the concept of sarcasm.

    • “but Bush wasn’t a Socialist, Communist, Fascist, Nazi, Kenyan, Islamic,
Atheistic, Racist, Gun-confiscating, America-Hating incompetent tyrant.”

Neither is Obama. Stop listening to the pundits who make a lot of money selling you these ideas.

      • jonjstrine42

Terri, as I have pointed out several times to others, it was sarcasm.

      • But we cannot see your face or hear your voice to know that it was sarcasm. Which means that you have to tell us.

I have come across far too many people who believe the kind of insanity that you posted to not respond to it.

Infact, GraceW is one of those who come to mind.

      • jonjstrine42

That is the lesson I’ve learn in all of this. Still, I figured by putting quotes around “logic” and putting Islamic right next to Atheistic, it would’ve been clear enough. From now on I shall mark my snark.

  • steve_eastman

Your approach to proving your point is flawed. Use of facts, stats and general purpose knowledge, all of which bounces off a republican like water on a ducks back. We need to use 2 word slogans so the low information repubs can catch up. Lik “Country First” or “We’re #1″…

    • James

YOU MEAN LIE LIE LIE ?

      • Mrs_oatmeal

Where are the lies? And why are you here?

      • suburbancuurmudgeon

Republicans lie all the time. My favorite is “Romney will win by a landslide.”

      • William Fite

Do you know the difference between a lie and an opinion. Basing by your post, I would say NO.

      • Andy Baker

The problem is that you and other fucktard republicans Like you know that your opinions are nothing but lies! You are nothing but parasites sucking the life blood out of America. You are the exact opposite of a Christian a Patriot or decent human being.

      • Andy, I agree, but “tard” is never a good suffix. It is very prejudicial and makes you look like them. Sorry man. I feel the same way but will never attach that to a word.

      • Neoconsaredicks

I feel as you and Andy do….but I must confess, I called a lot of people “retards”………I finally had to quit, once I got into 3rd grade.

      • Same here, Neo. I lived with ‘Spasden’ as a pejorative for many years as a boy in grammar school. I also realized how self-incriminating name calling can be around third grade as well. Not fond of invectives, either, especially those “F-Bombs.”

A man once told me, “Vulgarities are the linguistic crutch for the inarticulate.” I still agree.

      • lurch394

        Or “the inarticulate m*f*er.”

      • Yep, from those whom do not “get it.”

      • In order to say such a thing, you have to be articulate enough to be able spell words with letters.

I have to go check my eyelids for cracks.

      • lurch394

I just thought I’d try not to offend people.

      • The best way to do such is to not talk to republicans. They get offended at the drop of a hat.

      • really!?

        AMEN

      • Neoconsaredicks

I think the dopey republicans, in this case, were applying their “If you say something often enough…” strategy…..now they know it doesn’t work with elections.

      • Charles Vincent

Strawman… That was a prediction before the election concluded and that prediction didn’t come to fruition.

Hope things are going well for you and yours.

      • badgerbabs

A prediction that missed by 5 million votes. That’s not just a bad prediction; in the age of modern polling, that’s delusion (=lies)

      • Charles Vincent

Predictions are not lies they are either right or wrong.
Secondly five million votes on a national scale is a small margin.

      • Dave S

Perhaps he did … Obama wasnt even qualified to run in parts of Ohio being the signatures to get him on the ballot were forged ….

      • really!?

because you are not. you are in a false reality

    • really!?

when you say we, you really don’t mean we americans, you really mean the oppressors and the projectors of false images and ideas right

  • montanajeff

Maybe you have forgotten that during Bush’s last two years in office, both congress and senate was controlled by democrats. Maybe you forgot that on 9 separate occasions Bush tried to tighten lending rules and said that we would all feel the impact of careless lending, opposed vehemently by Barney Franks and the democrats. Maybe you forgot that Bush went to Obama and received Obamas agreement on the bailout, because he didn’t want to saddle the new president with the debt if Obama was against it. When you claim 6.2% unemployment are you ignorantly ignoring a doubling of welfare recipients and record unemployed who are no longer eligable for unemployment, or do you think we missed it? How about Obamas multiple promises of, transparency, openness, not utilizing executive orders, promises of discussion, negotiation and job creation? When you write a story, write it honestly, we can decide for ourselves who we like. Oh, and on gas prices, less than $2 per gallon when Obama took over, we have not even been close to that since, despite the fact that the price per barrel is over 30% less than the record high which gave us $4 per gallon fuel.

    • Brian

Bullshit. Put up or shut up.

    • Jim Flindt

RE: The Unemployed…Old trick used By ALL of Obama’s predecessors, So we’ll stick to the Numbers, not the **HOW ABOUTS** Because NO ONE ~~EVER~~ Counted them…Also, Congress was fully controlled by Republicans for four of Bush’s 8 eight years. The GOP ran the House from 2001 to 2007, Bush’s first six years in office, while Republicans only controlled the Senate from 2003 to 2007. (In Bush’s first three months, the Senate was divided 50-50 until the May 2001 defection of Republican Sen. James Jeffords gave Democrats control.) So The Republicans Controlled the House and Senate Much Longer than a Democratic influence….I like the rest of your points though…

      • dylan

Remember, Control of the senate isn’t 51-49. You need 60 votes to pass anything in the senate. 60 votes is control. Democrats only had that for a couple months. The rest of the past 5 years, Republicans have been able to block anything and everything and have done so.

    • Nathan Frigerio

You lost me at “Bush tried”. To suggest that shrub had any say at all on anything is clearly disingenuous. He made a career out of being a puppet for daddy’s friends. All the failed business ventures, even the Texas Rangers bit. Lent money to invest in the team while he headed the effort for a new stadium that, when built, exponentially increased the value of said team. Great investment, wish we all had friends like that. Why is it the rank and file poor republicans always want to support rich guys that never worked a day in their lives. Then shit all over guys that actually worked, and studied to get to the top? Bill Clinton was born poor white trash, a single mother in a trailer court. Obama, born biracial, raised by a single mom, struggling to get by. These people know and care, and work for all Americans, not just the 1%, Romney, Bush.

      • Ralph Kolstad

        give w some more pretzels,,,,

    • PhinFanCirca1978

“Oh, and on gas prices, less than $2 per gallon when Obama took over” This is because of the crash of the stock market and the financial mess the world, not just us, were in. All stocks took a hit as well as oil trading.

      • Johnst

Don’t forget “record breaking profits” quarter after quarter while the country was sinking…. Right wingers never seem to notice that.

      • The oil companies are the ones responsible for the gas prices. What facts lead you to believe that the President is the one responsible?

    • mre2000

“Oh, and on gas prices, less than $2 per gallon when Obama took over, we have not even been close to that since, despite the fact that the price per barrel is over 30% less than the record high which gave us $4 per gallon fuel.”

Gas prices were depressed due to the biggest economic collapse in 100 years. Saudis were considering reducing production to a drip because they were underwater on every barrel. Yet you guys keep bringing up cheap gas prices like it was a good thing. Ignorance is bliss. Unable to delve into the facts.

      • Guest

it hasnt been at 2$ since 2005,,,,dumfucass

      • mre2000

You can’t even spell your insults properly. Go put your tooth in and take a hike.

        Incidentally… I never mouthed a word about $2 gas…. “dumfucass”

      • Ralph Kolstad

        PRETZELS

    • dylan

Actual unemployed (the number of unemployed, part time, no longer looking for work) is lower now than in January 2009.

    • dylan

The president doesn’t control the price of gas–you’re thinking of dictatorships. Gas prices are controlled by a combination of supply and demand as well as trader speculation and oil company drive for profit by raising the price as high as they want to. Let’s face it, if they raised the price of gas to 10 bucks a gallon, people would still pay it, because people have to get to work. There is no other viable alternative…yet.

      • Johnst

And people wonder why the oil industry/Fox News hate the solar industry and anything that is not oil based for power…

    • surfjac

Highest fuel ever was in this country was in June of ’08. Is that bush’s fault?
How about all the jobs disappearing the last year bush was in power? What did the republican’t super minority in the senate do about that? Oh yeah, not a damn thing.
For all the obstruction, there are still only two Presidents that have reduced the deficit during their terms in office…Bill Clinton, Barack Obama.
Don’t bring up bush ever unless you’re gonna’ talk about how we can get him behind bars for war crimes.

      • Ralph Kolstad

        YEAH!!,,,,,

      • Unemployment started going up, without any reduction, in the middle of 2007.

And Bush, and Congress, attempted a stimulus that didn’t work very well in 2008. It was supposed to be for everyone, and it was $300. The idea was that if people had enough to spend that they would go out and buy stuff and that would help stimulate the economy.

    • Mase

Presidents dont set the price of gas. Unless you live Venezuela. Do you live in Venezuela?

  • Marsha Rupe

George W. Bush, clearly, was incompetent and serving his wealthy donors. It’s time we punish do-nothing Republicans in Congress by tossing them out on election day.

    • Charles Vincent

Obama is serving the same “wealthy donors”, but I guess that doesn’t matter since he’s your golden boy…
I would offer you more Koolaid but you have had plenty of it already.

      • Bill Gleed

Apropos of nothing. The point is that we are still climbing out the ditch you idiots drove us into, and all you’ve done since you crashed the country was fight your asses off to keep it right there at the bottom of the ditch. I suspect the one drinking koolaid here, is you, tool.

      • Charles Vincent

WRONG the democrat controlled congress drove us there learn how government works Bill. Specifically Barney Frank and how they created the sub prime mortgage bubble and the disastrous demise of Glass Steagle that allowed bankers to invest money in very stupid ways.

      • Bill Gleed

You’re an idiot. And I won’t waste my time on your delusions.

      • Charles Vincent

Keep telling yourself that Billy boy willful ignorance suits your ilk.

      • unebaiser

I’m your huckleberry, this is just my game. Steagall repeal was attached to an omnibus bill by your sweetheart, Lindsay graham, and then, signed into law by George Dubbya Bush. Stop lying, please. Bush was an illegally appointed disaster, guilty of treason. Yet you hypocrites said nothing. Obama has done an excellent job of fixing that cokehead’s mess, with zero cooperation from the right-wing bigots in the house. They also, should be charged and executed, for treason. As for Mr.Obama, a simple thank you, would suffice. Enjoy.

      • Charles Vincent

Yeah he’s recycling Bush’s policies that’s brilliant. You really need to stop swilling the party line bullshit.

      • Bobby T

Is there any way we can SHUT this asshole Vincent down?

      • Charles Vincent

Calm down before you pop an aneurism and stroke out bud.

      • Glenna Jones-Kachtik

No, there isn’t. He is like the energizer bunny – he just keeps posting & posting his opinion. He has a right to do that…I usually just don’t engage him. Maybe by not answering him, he will go away.

      • suburbancuurmudgeon

He’s actually a nice guy; but I still don’t agree with his politics. Y’all remember free speech, dontcha?

      • Charles Vincent

        They don’t remember that. Free speech only applies when people believe everything they do. Need an example well here you go;

“Stephen Barlow to Bobby T • a day ago
        Flag everything he writes. EVERYTHING.”

      • Stephen Barlow

        Flag everything he writes. EVERYTHING.

      • Stephen Barlow

Don’t forget to DOWNVOTE him with the little arrows @ the lower left of his comment.

      • Charles Vincent

        The pertinent information;
        http://en DOT m DOT Wikipedia DOT org/wiki/Glass–Steagall_Act

The important part is that it was Clinton that signed the act into law not bush.

      • Turbineguy

Clinton did sign it into law, but it was a bipartisan effort. It sure wasn’t Barney Frank’s fault that dirtbags in the mortgage and finance industries took advantage of that legislation. Plenty of blame to go around there for sure. Without that repeal there wouldn’t have been the number of bank failures we saw. Greed & stupidity almost took down the economy.

      • Charles Vincent

Which was the reason behind glass steagall. And the have been dismantling the act since it’s inception precisely because it prevented some of that stupidity you mentioned.

      • richardtrombly

you are such an idiot , the conservatives are the ones that dismantled the Glass Steagall , moron. You try to flip reality to suit you . You are deceptive and willfully in your lies. You are not misinformed , you are a misinformer.

      • Charles Vincent

No it’s been a mix of both sides dismantling it since it’s inception learn to read. And the fact still remains that it was Clinton who signed the law that repealed glass steagall.

      • suburbancuurmudgeon

http://crisisofcredit DOT com will answer your questions.

      • Stephen Barlow

This guy doesn’t ask questions, he forwards propaganda and relays gossip.

      • Stephen Barlow

The important part is A) WHO authored it and B) who slipped in the Amendment that made it ILLEGAL to regulate Derivative securities!!!

The answer to BOTH is Phil Gramm, the best buddy of Bush the Dumber and husband of a Derivatives Lobbyist.

      • Charles Vincent

        Don’t forget Dodd/Frank chief.

      • Stephen Barlow

More of your nonsense? Have your mother change you, that tape is do old it’s warbling in your player.

      • Charles Vincent

Keep that wool battened down tight some facts might get in and cause a raging case of cognitive dissonance.

      • Stephen Barlow

You don’t even know what cognitive or dissonance is.

      • Charles Vincent

We’ve already been over this your memory is apparently also limited by the wool over your eyes.

      • Stephen Barlow

BEtter wool over My eyes than sheep on your dic*.

      • Charles Vincent

So having wool over your eyes helps you forget the government is screwing you… I guess ignorance is bliss.

      • Stephen Barlow

Sheep or goats Chuck? Sheep or goats?

      • Stephen Barlow

I couldnt’ trust you NOT to look it up, even though you can’t be bothered to research anything the RED media feeds you by the shovelful… so I won’t ask you A SECOND TIME to explain what that is.

You have had ZERO integrity with every one in this blog EXCEPT Jim the Sheep… or is Jim your goat?

      • Charles Vincent

Explaining it again would be a waste of time.
Your whole red media argument is asinine for two reasons.
        1) It assumes that only blue media outlets tell the truth or are trustworthy. This is a logical fallacy argument.
        2) The same argument can be made against blue media which leaves us in a place where no media has relevant facts that are true.

Oooo integrity lets talk about that and how you don’t have any and claim I lack it.
        Your post on this thread;

      • Stephen Barlow

NOOOO!!!! you have told this exact lie before. Did you just cut an paste it from last spring?

        1) is false because Blue media does apologize for errors, misstatements, and corrects them. They also make retractions.

RED media NEVER does that, they DOUBL UP on the lies, just as Romney did about Chrysler moving JEEP plants to China. The TRUTH WAS that Jeep was investing a BILLION in renovating the Toledo plant and was ADDING 3500 JOBS in the next year. Which was wrong, they added THIRTY EIGHT HUNDRED!!!!

        2) Is false because to be an honest argument, you would have to KNOW HOW to TELL THE TRUTH.

I was just telling Bobby T how to BEST deal with you IF he is annoyed with you that much.

In fact, I am going to begin doing it too. And encouraging the entire Left to stomp you lying ass into oblivion.

No lack of integrity in telling the truth about THAT now is there?

Nubcake? you wanna stick a candle in My Willie and EAT ME? YOu SICK FUC*!

      • Charles Vincent

“I was just telling Bobby T how to BEST deal with you IF he is annoyed with you that much.

In fact, I am going to begin doing it too. And encouraging the entire Left to stomp you lying ass into oblivion.”

Game, set, match you’re frothing at the mouth nubcake. Now everyone sees how big of a tool you really are. wahhh you lied, wahhh your dumb, wahhh I am gonna report your posts so they censor you wahh, wahh, wahh. Want a tissue and some soothing ointment to clear up that case of butthurt Stevie???

      • Stephen Barlow

Now you wanna suck My cake down to the nub? Sorry, I like a WOMAN to be icing My cake with lipstick chuck. BTW, you failed to answer yet again.
Is Jimbo your sheep? or your goat?

      • Charles Vincent

Are you going start flagging or just keep talking Stevie? still waiting on that threat of yours to materialize.

      • Stephen Barlow

HEHEHEHE! It’s Sunday and Allen Clifton took yesterday off too. But it kinda shows which one of has integrity and which one of us is YOU.

      • Charles Vincent

Clifton doesn’t do the banning or deleting Thomas Barr does. On a side note still waiting on that threat of flags from you. Guess it’s just more hot air out of your windbag hole Stevie.

      • Stephen Barlow

WOW! you REALLY got it up under your skin.

      • Charles Vincent

Just as I thought you’re all talk and no action. And still a whiney little impotent jerk.

      • Stephen Barlow

you were hoping to suck a load out of me?

      • Stephen Barlow

Yeah, but you Mom loves the way I taste.

      • Charles Vincent

My mom would throw a small fish like you back. She isn’t into appetizers.

      • Stephen Barlow

WOW, I’d NEVER call My own mother a prostitute in public dude!!!

        Wikipedia

      • Charles Vincent

The wiki information is well cited. Here is your sign and in the future L2read and vet info before you open that pie hole of yours.

        P.S.
They put all citations at the bottom of every page. Also the references for that wiki page are quite extensive.

      • Stephen Barlow

The very fact of the rampant racist obstructionism and national stagnation implemented by the Redpublicans in both the Senate and the Do Nothing House under Boehner kind of proves by proxy, the integrity and ability of Barack Obama as The Leader of the Free World.

And for so many in the MINORITY to be so proud of doing so little for so long and for such a simply disgusting reason is incomprehensible to Me.

I just do NOT now nor never will understand the Joys Of Sedition and Treason in any form, but just simply because the President is a half breed White guy… Like the rest of us…

      • adcbeast

No .. he is correct .. You are a complete IDIOT

      • 2Smart2bGOP

Hey, adcbeast; like your avatar! 😉

      • Charles Vincent

Ahh the mouthbreather is back. I told you this site doesn’t allow links but apparently your limited brain power doesn’t get that. And yes Obama is recycling bush policies.

      • miketothad

        LOL..
        You got called out.

      • Bobby T

Such an IDIOT! It was Bush’s getting rid of Rules that allowed Banks to loan money to people who had no idea of how, and as jobs lost, NO ability to pay mortgages leading to the Crash of Bush!! You have a job Mizsta Vincent?

      • Charles Vincent

No Glass-Steagall was preventing that and Glass-Steagall was repealed by the Clinton administration L2read the thread and links I provided that state the documented facts Bobbotheclown.

      • suburbancuurmudgeon

NO, they didn’t. Read the FCIC report. Wall Street jumped into the subprime market because it was flush with cash and interest rates were at all-time lows. I’ve never seen a bank do anything that it didn’t want to do. And you forget Bush’s “ownership society” push. There are some great You-Tube videos of him talking about the same things for which you blame the Democrats.

      • Charles Vincent

The federal reserve is responsible for the interest rate. and the ” Wall Street jumped into the subprime market because it was flush with cash” wouldn’t have happened had Glass -Steagall not been repealed By Clinton.

http://www DOT forbes DOT com/2009/02/13/housing-bubble-subprime-opinions-contributors_0216_peter_wallison_edward_pinto DOT html

Understand I am not contesting Bush played a part in the crash but he was far from the main player nor was he the only one with a hand in the pie and his part was small by comparison. His part was not introducing; tighter regulation see link and article.

        http://www DOT theguardian DOT com/business/2012/aug/06/financial-crisis-25-people-heart-meltdown

“And you forget Bush’s “ownership society” push.”

This started under Clinton bush just followed suit on the policy this is also in the above link.

        and Barney Franks role in the collapse. skip to 2003 heading its a long read otherwise;

        http://tjhancock DOT wordpress DOT com/housing-bubble-financial-crisis-detailed-comprehensive-assessment/

      • Stephen Barlow

Funny how the GLB Bill was originally part of the GReat Reaganomics, but it took 11 years to get passed into law.

      • Brian In AK

Dude, this article is about YOU and your ilk who have been ‘drinking the Koolaid’ since at least 2001. Hush now, the adults are fixing what you all broke.

      • Charles Vincent

Barney frank the democrat broke it you should read more.

      • Brian In AK

Since you’re clearly talking about the sub-prime mortgage issue, YOU need to read more. Bush is the one who started strong-arming Freddie and Fannie over sub-primes, and we all know the result of that stupidity.

I’m curious. Do you have any trouble breathing with your head buried so deeply in the sand?

      • 2Smart2bGOP

I thought it was up his a$$, as he clearly suffers from cranial rectulasia.

      • Charles Vincent

Bush objected to what Barney frank was doing. And Obama had a vested interest in the Freddie/ Fannie scheme.
I am curious do you have a real argument or are you just going to continue to call me names like some two year old who can’t use adult words or grasp adult concepts.

      • richardtrombly

you are just makin’ shit up.

      • Charles Vincent

Again learn to read instead of being and ignorant mouth breather.

        http://en DOT m DOT Wikipedia DOT org/wiki/Glass–Steagall_Act

Scroll down to the heading titled Glass-Steagall effective decline and repeal.

      • Brian In AK

It’s interesting that the section you’re referring to makes absolutely NO mention of Barney Frank’s involvement. Maybe I just mouth-breathed all over it and missed it?

      • Charles Vincent

Haha that’s funny Allen Clifton is censoring my posts like a butt hurt little 2 year old.

      • Brian In AK

Perhaps it’s because many of your statements are clearly made just to berate people who don’t agree with your interpretation of facts.

      • Charles Vincent

I provide facts and shofar all you provide is name calling and ignorant opinion.

        As to the rest of your post;

“So much for the progressive “we support the first amendment rights” lol”

      • Brian In AK

Well, ‘shofar’ all you’ve done is attack me and made yourself look like a complete fool. As for your ‘facts,’ Fox generated talking points are not usually factual. Take your name calling, misplaced bravado, ‘facts,’ and nubcakes (whatever those are), and choke on them.

      • Charles Vincent

actually I don’t use fox new as a source. Here devils advocate for you, your argument about fox news talking points can be turn on your favorite news sources grow up and then grow a brain nubcake.

      • Brian In AK

Yes you do. Every hair-on-fire wing-nut publication looks to Fox for talking points. And while it’s been fun making your head explode, you’ve become a boring broken record and I’m just about finished here. But I’ll be sure to check for another reply from you calling me a nubcake. Actually, could you take a moment out of your busy schedule to explain what that is?

      • Charles Vincent

You know what they say about assumptions right Brian? You are certainly entitled to your opinions, however you do not get to make up the facts. And yes you’re still a nubcake and a lazy one at that.

      • Stephen Barlow

Is how far down you wanna EAT Brian? To his nub?

      • jericho

Oh, stop your whining. Nobody is trying to shut you down.

      • Stephen Barlow

NOt quite true. I have been lied to by this creature for the last time. he is a BOT, planted by the RED ARMY to disrupt others. I am flagging any and all his posts DELIBERATELY, until Allen gets the message that he’s not welcome and BANS him.

      • Brian In AK

Is the weather nice in the reality you live in?

I didn’t call you any names, I just insulted your intelligence. But I can start calling you names if it helps make you feel better about things.

      • Charles Vincent

        “just insulted your intelligence.”
Boiled down you called me stupid that is name calling gg nubcake.

      • Brian In AK

Ah, typical right winger redefining someone else’s statements in an attempt to suit your own views. Can you ‘boil down’ what a gg nubcake is for me? I don’t want to step on your toes here and make any assumptions.

      • Charles Vincent

And that’s the game, you’re too stupid to realize that insulting someone’s intelligence is synonymous with calling them stupid way to look like a total tool nubcake.

      • Brian In AK

STILL calling me names. Are you 12?

      • Charles Vincent

No and even if I was I would still have more mental maturity than you nubcakes. As far as name calling you seem mad that you’re getting a dose of your own medicine, run along and burgle some turds bottom feeder.

      • Brian In AK

I love that you keep coming back here specifically to call me more names. You are clearly very, very mature. Your mom must be getting worried you’ll move out of her basement soon.

      • Charles Vincent

And I will continue to call you names the same as you have been to me nubcake.

      • Brian In AK

Alright, I give in. You just keep confusing me with your towering intellect. I’m going to try to warn all the other ‘nubcakes’ to look out for you, just as soon as I figure out what that made-up word means.

      • Charles Vincent

Wow you are a lazy and ignorant moron you can Google it FFS.

a nub who’s failures exceed all other nubs in their immediate area, thus
making them the “biggest nub” or the “icing on the cake of nubs” They
tend to not only be horrible at whatever it is they are doing, but also
have no idea that they are horrible at it. They are such nubs that they
are capable of bringing down even the most elite when present. They are
        dangerously idiotic.

Person 1: I put Caity on our team to even out the game.

Person 2: Makes sense, she’s a nub and we are decent players.

Person 1: Yeah, but she’s the only nub on our team and she’s

brought our score down more than the team of all nubs

Person 2: Wow, what a nub cake.

      • Brian In AK

I actually did look it up when you first called me that, and I finally manipulated you in to addressing it. Your copy/paste verbatim from the Urban Dictionary vindicates me entirely and makes it absolutely clear that you can’t think for yourself. You try utilizing anyone else’s verbiage in an attempt to make yourself appear intellectually superior. And herein lies the problem with all you wingnuts (see, that’s ME calling YOU a name).. you are all force fed ideas from The Great Wingnut Oracle and you regurgitate them at actual thinking people, loudly. The only reason we ‘nubcakes’ bother you so much is that we can’t be swayed to stop using our minds and start blindly following whatever the Oracle says. You should really stop replying to me, take some time to look inside yourself and ask “Why am I such a small minded follower? Why can’t I think for myself? Why must I attack others? Am I really happy being such an awful person?” Maybe your Mom didn’t love you enough, or maybe the girls in high school shunned you. I’m sure you’ll find the answer if you take the time to look. Go now.

      • Charles Vincent

Actually I was being as intransigent as you were. Actually every one uses that term in the gaming community but that’s neither here nor there and you’re still an obtuse troglodyte. Why should I say it when it’s been said better and clearer than I might say it. Besides copy pasting fact doesn’t make them less relevant.

Think for yourself… That’s rich coming from a party line mouth piece like you. He’ll you can’t see past the end of your own nose let alone figure out things like how our government works or why the economy dumped. So you instead point the finger and place blame on someone that had nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Remember it was you that started the name calling not I but since you like name calling I will keep dishing it right back at you, sort of a you get what you give deal. Enjoy your willful ignorance it suits you.

      • Brian In AK

I admire your tenacity, I really do. But this is like arguing with a 12 year old who just discovered a thesaurus. You are a hateful, mean-spirited person armed with a keyboard who displays all the taste and depth of a Hot-Pocket on a paper plate. You’ve been a fun little diversion and I’ve enjoyed making your head explode, so I thank you for that. Good day sir, you are dismissed.

Get a new phrase. Koolaid has lost its meaning and has become the statement of those who can’t fashion a decent rebuttal.

Why would I change it when it fits so well with the person I replied to? That’s the problem with the liberal mindset always trying to fix things that aren’t broken and when it is broken you can’t see past the pie in the sky to the unintended consequences that are often worse than the original problem you wanted to fix.

  • Lisa

The sad thing is that facts bounce off conservatives into another irrelevant talking point.
Who in their right mind would want to return to the Bush years?

    • William Fite

I would. The economy was stronger. More people were working. And the world was a safer place.

      • really!?

all liars will have their place in the lake of fire. If you believe your statement you are the fuel that will cause it to burn forever

NO, he’s a jaded and most likely a racist fool.

GFY tired of you a holes calling anyone that does not agree with you racist or sexist or what ever….commie moron

      • Elderberrynut

It is ironic that you are calling people names while criticizing others for doing so. I’m not taking part in the liberal vs conservative argument, I’m just observing the language people use, and what it says about them.

      • Stephen Barlow

Sounds like a racist, sexist NAZI defense.

        That sounds like me Stevie

It’s all they know. They also forget that Bush was surrounded my by a dummycrat senate and house… but yet, all the sheep still choose sides while being screwed by both.

      • rejectrepublicanlies

Wrong, Kev. The House and Senate were also in Republican hands until the midterms in 2006.

      • rejectrepublicanlies

Remember pedophile Denni Hastert and serial adulterer, Newt Gingrich? Republicans think we all suffer from amnesia.

      • kurtsteinbach

Until 2007, for 6 of Bush’s 8 years, he had a GOP House and Senate, not Democratic ones. Bush resisted trying to fix what he had and was still breaking. It took him over three months to do anything about the crash. And in the last months of his Presidency, he basically led by abdication. He didn’t want to help out the Auto Industry because he was trying to simply allow the jobs to go overseas. He’d already bailed out Wall Street, but held things up because he refused to help out the rest of Americans. He failed to keep us safe from 9/11 and called fake terror alerts on his stupid terror alert color chart every week. He failed to visit New Orleans and even spoke of abandoning one of the United States’ biggest cities after Hurricane Katrina, in 2005 . . . .

      • sane in an asylum

So you post your dislike about name calling… and end it with name calling. You, Sir or Madam, are a delightful idiot. Isn’t it fantastic that your stupidity will now be cataloged for-ev-er now? The internet has mirror and back-up sites to create redundancy: Everything posted to the internet, even if you immediately “delete” it, remains. For Ev Er. Your legacy, JH, will be that of a completely jackassed hypocrite. Rejoice!

      • kurtsteinbach

We’re talking about people who disagree with verified facts, verified science, and verified reality, not opinion. What shade of blue do you think the sky is, is a matter of opinion. Is the economy doing better or is the deficit down, is not a matter of opinion. It’s a verifiable fact that the economy is doing better and the deficit is down. Refusing to put up with people who dispute and attack verified facts and oppose this country by opposing the President is not only NOT intolerance, it’s our Civic Duty!

      • jordan

By assuming he’s a racist that makes you an ignorant moron and probably 100% liberal

      • Dave

Republican and Conservative Stupidity Continues to Soar to New Heights. But many conservatives don’t just lack information, they lack intelligence. People who believe that guns have nothing to do with gun violence. That 97% of the world’s scientists are all a part of some global climate change conspiracy. That “freedom” somehow means allowing them to take away someone else’s rights. This isn’t ignorance, it’s stupidity. I had a climate change denier try to engage me on the subject on my Twitter account. I presented him with a link to a study of 11,944 papers done by 29,083 authors of peer-reviewed scientific studies. This survey concluded that 97.1% of those experts studying our rapidly increasing climate change found it to be accelerated by humans. Their response, “Based on computers modeling data that may not be accurate or was derived to produce a certain result.” Just like when Fox News cites cold days as “proof” that global warming is a hoax. Seriously, a major “news” network claiming that cold weather during winter “proves” that climate change is a hoax. None of that’s ignorance. It’s stupidity. Oh, and then there’s these “rolling coal” idiots. What these people are doing is modifying their trucks so that they burn excessive fuel, causing a thick black smoke to discharge from the exhaust. So these fools are burning more fuel (which is costing them more money), and probably doing damage to their engine, all so they can make some kind of asinine statement against the EPA and climate change? Yeah, that’s really teaching us a lesson. A lesson that these people are morons. Again, this isn’t ignorance. It’s stupidity. Or the ones who think “religious freedom” somehow means oppressing the religious freedoms of others. That “keeping your employer out of your health care” translates to allowing one employer to dictate to thousands of employees what contraceptives they’ll have access to on their health care plans. I’ve still yet to have one of these conservatives explain to me how they “stand for religious freedom” while opposing the right for the church to decide whether or not they want to marry a gay couple. Because right now in states where gay marriage is still illegal, any church that wants to marry two homosexuals is being denied their religious freedom to do so – because conservatives believe their religious views trump the views of others. Again, how exactly is that standing for “religious freedom”? To me, that’s oppressing religious freedom in the name of your religion. Then there are the ones who continue to blame the escalating violence in Iraq on President Obama. Yes, conservatives are blaming Obama for Iraq. The only real thing Obama had to do with Iraq was enforcing the SOFA agreement Bush signed with the Iraqi government that required all American troops to be out of Iraq by 2011. Our absence in Iraq (coupled with the Iraqi military’s incompetence) has been the leading factor behind the ability for these ISIS radicals to seize control of northern parts of the nation. Then there are those who continue to talk about Obama’s big play to confiscate guns – despite the fact that in 5+ years he hasn’t confiscated a single gun. It’s been 5+ years, when is this big gun confiscation going to happen? Oh, I know, it’s because “Congress won’t let him.” Funny, Republicans constantly claim that Obama rules like a king, ignoring our laws at will. If that’s the case, then why doesn’t he just ignore Congress and confiscate guns? Conservatives, I know…I know. That’s too much for your minds to handle. Two piece of propaganda in direct conflict with one another. Luckily for Republicans, many conservative voters don’t like to think for themselves. Another group that floors me are the ones who claim how much higher gas prices have been under Obama. Well, duh. The only reason why they were so low when he first came into office is because our economy was collapsing. Gas prices went up as soon as the economy started to improve. Though they’re still highly inflated by Wall Street speculation, but Republicans won’t dare pass any legislation aimed at curbing that corruption. Then there are those folks who think the Earth is 6,000 years old and humans walked alongside dinosaurs. Pure. Stupidity. All of this isn’t excused by simple ignorance about any given particular topic. It’s driven by blind stupidity. People who seem proud of the fact that they’re idiots. Because that’s what I think about anyone who flies the Gadsden flag. It’s no longer a flag that represents the American Revolution. It’s a badge of honor for those who are proud to display the fact that they’re morons. They’re bragging about the fact that they’re easily manipulated by those who prey on the weak-minded. Because that’s what many of these conservatives are: Weak-minded individuals driven by racism, powered by stupidity and supported by pure idiocy.

Dave It’s really sad but you can talk facts until your blue in the face! It won’t change a thing! The only option left is to grab those irritating ignorant fucktards by the throat and choke them until they are blue in the face!

      • John

Hate to see these “daddy war bucks” money grubs create a culture where two nice, smart cats like you are at each others throats. Wasn’t like that when I was young. 50’s, 60’s, 70’s. As corny as it seems, I would take that era

      • Glenna Jones-Kachtik

Me too. I long for the time when politicians were moderate & mostly civil to each other. I remember a time when they mostly reached across the aisles to compromise & create win/win situations….Now it is all ideologues & Senators & Representatives who really want to destroy government, period & who don’t know HOW to govern their way out of a paper bag.

      • Dave

Seems like you’re the sad one

      • Stephen Barlow

The only solution is wait until they die and vote Democratic as often as possible until then.

      • Silkie

The biggest problem is that, politcians “Raise” children from birth to take their place which means”Teach them to think like uthey do and react like they do

      • Stephen Barlow

There are several political ‘clans’, but if we had Representation by lottery, the way juries are chosen, and then limited the lifetime terms we could SOLVE that problem without even a Constitutional Amendment.

      • Adam Stoll

Or vote third party to help destroy some of the business ownership of our government.

      • Stephen Barlow

Just a waste of a vote in a polarized constituency. It gave Clinton the wi in ’92, but ever since 3rd party candidates were locked out of the debates with the 15% exclusion rule….

      • Mikey 444

yeah…that worked out really well with Ralph Nader. If it wasn’t for him “W” would have never been president.

      • Frank Lazar

A popular myth, that happens to ignore the Republican shennanigans of Florida and that Nader votes were vastly outnumbered by seniors who discovered they somehow voted for Pat Buchannan when they meant to vote for Al Gore, who in tern managed to virtually tie despite running one of the most inept campaigns ever waged by a Democrat.

      • Willie Wilson Jr

Yes third party just hurts one or the other party usual

      • Tel-Jonah Stern

Then thank G-d for Ralph Nader. Can you imagine if Gore was President on and following 9/11? Global War on Terror would currently be fought on streets of USA, and we’d be losing. 100s of 1000s more would have been killed in MEA.

      • Glenna Jones-Kachtik

How the hell do you figure this???? Gore probably would not have ignored the PDB that said Bin Laden determined to strike in the USA. He & Clinton were used to dealing with them. 9/11 might not have even taken place. (Remember that there was a BUSH brother who was head of security at the Towers & that Bush himself was friends with the Saudi Royal Family – who were in the USA at the time & who left after 9/11 without even being questioned. & that Bin Laden WAS a relation to the Saudi Royal Family)……Delusions are wonderful things.

      • JohnL1313

Well, we’ll never know what Gore and Clinton thought about Bin Laden ever since their national security advisor Sandy Berger stole and conveniently lost documents and memos from the Clinton Administration from the national archives while preparing for 9/11 testimony. Further, it was Clinton’s assistant AG Jamie Gorelick who enforced the famous barrier between the FBI and CIA not allowing them to share intelligence in the mid-90’s.

Gore wouldn’t have done anything differently prior to 9/11 than Bush. There was no actionable intelligence in the briefing and the nation would not have accepted the draconian airport laws. In fact, Clinton and Gore discussed this in the late 90’s and both agreed the public wouldn’t go for it, which we certainly wouldn’t have.

      • Scott Beeker

Funny that liberals always seem to hide all thier information and lose it conveniently. Republicans try to play the rules and get burned. Seems to be a theme that people whom take shortcuts to get ahead seem to be the ones doing the damage but then blame game. Liberals want all thier stuff paid for as not to work. Get mad when others work hard to achieve as that is not fair, etc. This country is getting pathetic more and more daily.

      • Mark Gruben

Bulgaria ain’t crowded, Bub. Book your flight, and find out what pathetic really looks like.

      • Scott Beeker

Funny thing Bub, This country was less like Bulgaria years before liberals push thier intolerant views. Funny thing is Bulgaria is socialist / communist. Funny thing is that Bulgaria basically is where Obamas very wealthy backer comes from. So if Bulgaria is so bad why is it liberals want to turn America into a socialist / communist country like Bulgaria. This country has a constitution that most countries in the world admire and copy when the begin a new government. Yet, liberals need to tear down the constitution to turn America into what other countries in the world are. And liberals always say pack and go there. Funny is you want to change America into what you think is bad!!! Pathetic! Before Obama if you watch all the liberal channels like MSNBC , CNN, etc you will find show like Matthews etc were saying how great the country is in terms of race etc. As soon as the non-racist Obama started pushing his race agenda the news did too.. Go watch any TV new prior to 2007 or so!!! Liberals always talk about the very wealthy being helped by Republican! Wrong!!!! The very wealthy people are very liberal and want to keep the country poor for thier power. Barrack Obama has major backers that are very weathy Bilderbergs that are far more wealthy than coroporate CEOS… Obama has duped the public into hating anyone successful, any morale people, etc. He is trying to replace our constitution which in reality is the primary focus of his job .. To serve and protect the constitution is what he is sworn into office for. So it is the liberals that should pack up an leave. America was build by capital compnies fleeing government oppression. Liberals for some reason want to return to oppression. Progressive Liberal Policies destroyed Detroit! Been in place in MO, etc. Bilderbergs that help Obama also helped Hitler in Germany!! Socialism is great for very elite wealthy people…… Not the public!

      • Pappy

Why waste your breath? Totalitarians aren’t interested in debate. They are right you should be crushed. Of what importance is freedom, anyway, since the progressives know what’s best for you, just let them decide for you!

      • Griggs James

      • 2Smart2bGOP

What a colossal load of crap. RWNJ’s are so sad in their delusions.

      • Scott Beeker

Election fraud is caused by no voter ID. Democrats every election abuse elections with many dead people voting, getting people to vote twice.

Hillary is all over news for how many scandals

How many people been caught in government lately being dishonest. Most were liberal.

Every mass shooting in America been a liberal! Or a very high majority!

Democrats were in control of Detroit, Chicago, and most of the really trouble spots for years!!! Give that one some thought.

My objection is not with middle democrats but more the progressive liberals with PLAN B 4.0 … If I misstated that ……. This idea that a very large domineering government needs to control everyone is what is wrong with this country. Government provides only if people pay money. Guess what the money is drying up.

Liberals want to redistribute money from people that worked hard to those that do not want to work.. The money will dry up very fast! Then what!!! Making everyone poor is not a solution!

      • 2Smart2bGOP

You have GOT to quit believing FOX “News,” which has shown to be truthful only about 18% of the time. There was about .0003% of PROVEN voter fraud; certainly not enough to swing any elections, and most of that committed by Republicans. As for the rest of your claims, if you took the time, and had the intellectual honesty to do real research, you would find that they are all fairy tales.
But then, Republicans are very, very good at utilizing the Big, Bad Wolf when they want to keep their base frightened and under control. I feel very sorry for you, that you embrace those lies so completely. Do some real research, you will find very quickly that you have been lied to, repeatedly. But I doubt that you will; it’s just easier to believe that which you want so desperately to believe.

      • Scott Beeker

Interesting that of all the people that were caught were liberals bragging they voted for Obama. Keep in mind voter fraud only had to occur in couple key places. So lets take say OH where in couple counties the number of votes exceeded the number of people living there. I guess yes the fact that the democrat logistics “accidentally” did not send ballots to the troops over seas. Maybe that since Holder made sure that voters in key areas were able to vote for say 2 weeks prior to election. Well you know Mr. Smart that perhaps may be it is other channel you should watch. If Fox new is that bad sadly with most americans trusting them over all other cable channel for what ? 15 years straight gaining market share.. Actually I am more a Blaze person and or reading the actual documents at the archives. Perhaps it is others too desperate to believe. You know if voter fraud is republicans maybe just maybe democrats ought to have voter ID. Oh wait they block it.. You have to have ID for healthcare, foodstamps, and to cash your welfare check.. Democrats the ones that say it is racist to have to vote. Silly you there Facts are for really…

      • 2Smart2bGOP

The BLAZE?? You mean that shyster, Glenn Beck? The guy who uses Vicks Vaporub to make him cry for the camera? The guy who admitted in an interview that he’s “just an entertainer” and half of the crap he spews is JUST to get the rubes riled up??? Good lord, you’re worse off than I thought.
Last thought; you present your ID when you register to vote. It’s unnecessary to have to present it when you vote.
Sorry, it was bad enough when I thought you were a FOX believer; the Blaze is worse. (Watch the link below, if you dare to; I doubt you will, because it’s your guy prepping with the Vicks.) You’re irrevocably lost and I’m done with you. (PS – try to learn grammar and syntax; your word salad is as bad as Sarah Palin’s.)

      • Scott Beeker

Blaze in two years is a network of about $30B in revenues. Pretty good for an entertainer! My grammar is good enough in discussions. I do not waste time correcting my tablet typing. Your grammar is quite deplorable for someone in judgement. In time the truth be told. What I believe is not necessarily the news I watch. Then again you believe in Obama! The one that roughly 70% of country has figured out is a liar.

Then again you are a “progressive liberals” . Let see :

        1) Liberals are people that need free birth control but are incapable of using it properly because they also need abortions to be paid for.
        2) Liberals are people that believe a liar like Harry Read talk about how Romney is so rich he does not pay taxes. Yet, Romney does pay taxes! Harry Read lies and laughs about it. Pathetic liberals do not understand the concept that thier hero lie. FYI, GE pays no taxes and is Obama go to company but liberals have no clue.
        3) Liberals are people that have to manipulate children with Common Core Education because well Adults are too smart to listen to them!
        4) Liberals are the people that love to talk about the war on gays and women while supporting ISLAM as a religion of Peace whom likes to kill gays and mistreat and rape women.
        5) Liberals are people that like to claim how tolerant they are every time a cause that Al Sharpton gets involved with. Even better , liberals follow Al sharpton.

        6) Liberals are people wanting everyone paying more taxes but are the ones getting caught not paying.
        7) Liberals are the ones that do not want to have voter ID but claim republicans are the violators. Please! I choked at your stupidity.

So instead of making stupid false claims, try some actual facts. I am sure all 300,000 viewers of all the CNN and MSNBC can really teach you something.

Dude, you have no clue what I watch and what I believe. Again, liberal moron stupidity making assumptions.

        Pathetic!

      • 2Smart2bGOP

(yawn) Silly troll; be wrong on every count, if you insist. I’m not the Dumbass Whisperer, and your verbal vomit isn’t even amusing anymore.

But do please have the last word, with my permission. An individual of your verbosity cannot resist, I’m quite sure.

      • Scott Beeker

Come on liar prove your facts! You are a liberal troll that attacks people. You mention made up facts and say do your research. You attack people on grammar. Deflection of grammar etc. with no substance. You are sure of your self. But you are a liar! You have made up three facts and until you prove them you are a liar! FYI your grammar not so great either.. I choose not to waste time fixing a typo on a tablet? What is your excuse? You cannot back up any facts you state! Oh thats right you are a liberal!

Are you a pajama boy too? Probably gay pajama boy that really has trouble as you are not so bright….

      • 2Smart2bGOP

(yawn) Thanks for proving me right, troll. Nitey-nite! (“your grammar not so great either” – priceless!)

      • Scott Beeker

By the way being and entertainer and stating that this is what you are does not mean you cannot bring good people on a show that do know what they are talking about. Oh, but Chris Matthews is a Genius? FYI in I think 2007 Chris Matthews had Glenn Beck on his show and raved what a smart guy he was and how people should listen to what he has to say. FYI , he also praised Rush Limbaugh! Pretty funny! So the liberals praised them! Oh, but when Obama ran for office the media changed.. Again polarizing person. Before Obama most channels on TV were stating the race issue in US had improved a lot. Obama and his speeches turned on that… Facts are in the videos .. Watch your MSNBC heros for years before Obama!

Sarah Palin was a very successful governor! Sadly Liberal do not want success! They want big government to control the minds of sheep in the liberal party that listen to them!!! Pathetic!

      • Jerry G

Now I know you’re nuts. Sarah Palin was a successful governor? How would anyone know? She couldn’t even complete her term!

      • SICKOFTHELAPDOGMEDIA

She took corruption in her own party (Randy Ruderich) He by the way was found guilty of corruption charges., worked a deal to get Alaskans paid for the oil underneath their soil and the only reason she was not able to finish her term .DEOMONrats wouldn’t STOP the friviolous lawsuits against her. She resigned to save the citizens of Alaska money defending her. Poor hate filled, sexist, racist little liberal

      • Scott Beeker

Oh yeah lets talk about intelligience. Hillary Clinton stages a campaign with rigged audience and a fake impromptu visit to Chipotle. Why? Because she knows liberals fall for it.

Obama has a speech in Alaska in 2012 or so where they flew in the whole audience to make it look good he had so many people in this speech. Why? Because pathetic liberals believe this crap?

And the call people like Palin and Bush stupid because well they are well liked and intelligient.

Guess what, Ted Cruz is able to dazzle a crowd without a teleprompter like Obama does. This is such a scare to liberals memos flew around the democrat camp how worried they are. Pathetic!.

Yeah I would be proud to be a liberal!!! Not!

      • 2Smart2bGOP

“Intelligent.” Yeah, you’re a regular English scholar, you are. (snerk)

      • Steve Allen Graves

Aren’t you aware that Bush’s teleprompters are clearly visible in front of him on the aircraft carrier during his “mission accomplished” performance? He never spoke in front of a crowd that wasn’t handpicked. Otherwise he wouldn’t have been heard over the boos.

      • Steve Allen Graves

I can’t believe you’ll admit to being educated by the Blaze. Even Fox won’t let Beck on the air, and if you’re too crazy for Fox, you need to be committed to protect the general public.

      • Scott Beeker

        Evidence? Pajama boy a liar!
        Makes up facts!

      • 2Smart2bGOP

        (yawn)

      • James Prebble

What a nice statistic. But have you considered just how hard it would be to “prove” voter fraud? It’s not as if they’re using their real name. So statistics like you cite are complete crap.

      • 2Smart2bGOP

Oh goodie; another ignorant troll to ignore. Spew on, troll, spew on. You and beeker can start a rightwing circle jerk.

        Have fun, “boys.”

      • James Prebble

Poor thing…do you act this way with anyone who disagrees with your point of view? If your ideas are so superior, why get angry when someone challenges them?

My original point is valid. Why don’t you show all of us knuckle-draggers how intellectually superior you are and address it?

      • 2Smart2bGOP

I have no interest in farting into the wind; exercises in futility aren’t my thing. If I thought you might be genuinely interested in learning something, maybe. But you betray yourself as a troll, and trolls don’t want to learn; they just want to get people worked up. I just laugh at you, and go on my merry way…..like right now. Nitey-nite, troll.

I’m not really surprised to find that you’re unwilling to respond to my question because it’s obvious that you can’t! I’ve given you a couple of opportunities now, but it’s becoming more and more clear that you’re just not capable of an “off-script” conversation with someone who can apply critical thought. Unlike you, I welcome challenges to my opinions and beliefs. You on the other hand, well let’s just say I find the name you post under to be exceedingly ionic!

Maybe it would be better if, in the future, you placed a note after each of your posts indicating that you’re not able to debate the talking point that you just spewed on the interwebs so reasonable people looking for healthy debate can simply ignore your posts as the gratuitous tripe that they are.

      • 2Smart2bGOP

Ya see, the thing about trolls is, at first they’re kind of mildly amusing. But after awhile, the wind whistling through their ears just becomes this whiney drone that is just so…..boring. Like the little kid that keeps whining to his mother to “look at me, look at me, watch me, LOOK AT ME!!!”
(Hmm…I wonder how long I’ve been “ionic.”)

      • kurtsteinbach

When there is in-person voter fraud, it’s really quite easy to prove in an inestigation. You just find the “real” person. they probably lost their wallet or had their identity stolen. people notice when their identities are stolen. That’s how they did all the investigations and found how rare it is. The few cases they dd find, were verifiable. It’s called government workers and civil servants doing their due diligence, and it’s very easy to do and get done, except when you cut budgets to the point where due diligence cannot get done. That’s what happens in red states. Living in red states versus living in blue states is a stark difference. blue states have lower poverty, less child poverty, lower infant mortality rates, higher taxes, more people with health care, higher education rates and people, fewer people on government assistance, and Blue States are more more likely to be net contributors to the Federal Government, whereas Red States {with GOP legislatures and Governors] are more likely to be net recipients of Federal Government assistance with a higher percentage of citizens on state or Federal Assistance.

      • kurtsteinbach

You know, I think Rethugnicons actually kind of likied it when Bush was President and there was a fake terror alert every other week. . . . Sick, isn’t it?

      • Steve Allen Graves

How hard did the Walton kids work for their money? Never had a job in their lives. Same with the Koch brothers. If you can do your “job” wearing a suit, it doesn’t involve work. Let them spend a day carrying bundles of shingles up a ladder in 100 degree heat for minimum wage and then we’ll talk about how hard they worked.

      • Mike Bennett

Why is it when they give corporations billions of dollars its called a tax break or tax incentive ? But when you collect your Social Security or V A disability check your a worthless piece of scum that should be thrown in prison and starved to death in the eyes and words of the republican party leaders?

      • Scott Beeker

Oh you think John Stewart is so smart! Saw your comments. Wow you listen to a comedian for your news but think someone like Beck who says he is an Entertainer is stupid! Wow! You are really a gift of life for the world! What a pathetic man you are? Oh that statement is probably making an assumption of pajama boy liberal! I will take the time to do grammar! I saw all your post…. I will have some fun!!

      • 2Smart2bGOP

“I will take the time to do grammar! I saw all your post….” Damn, son, you make it SO easy!

“draconian airport laws” The American public has gone for that, like a starving dog for a bone.

      • Scott Beeker

Delusions are someone that does not understand that the Saudi family that was here are our friends. The Saudi government is the most stable muslim country trying maintain peace in the middle east. We best hope the Saudi that took the others place is as friendly to US. Israel is a real friend of the US and Obama is destroying that relationship. No your facts before you spout stupidity! 9/11 happened not long into Bush’s term. Bush had nothing to do with 9/11. Bin Laden was trying to make a lot of money for his cause and was trying to hit the US because this country keeps telling the world how to live. 911 FYI was planned before Bush was even in office. The notes were found to prove that. In fact there were several failed attempts long before Bush. Al Gore is a moron that makes a lot of money off climate control issues. Funny how he makes out like a bandit with all the carbon credit legislation… Pathetic how the really wealth liberals are convincing Americans to hate wealthy people. Sadly, the liberals are controlled by the Very Wealthy Foreign World Banks (Soros, Rockerfellers, etc). This country is screwed up and getting worse because of the bickering in the DC area. The government is hiding the truth about how bad it is…. It is all coming to a a head bang really soon!

      • GotScience

Scott, you need to brush those eyebrows back from eyes…..oh, and stop dictating to a ghost writer.

Monday morning Q-backing from someone who’s taken to many hits to the head.

      • cole

There are over 100 million weapons in America, a Terrorist would have more to fear from our citizens than our military, our country is built for self defense from an invasion by any county, we are armed to the teeth, know Europe will have a problem when they try and expel all those Muslims back to the Middle East and change their immigration policy’s, those people will have to use very limited guns, and a lot of knives and fist to repel any terrorist amongst them if the state is not up to the task.

      • Scott Beeker

That is why this is all happening with slow indoctrination. Soon all the terrorists will be your neighbors making bombs in thier garages and everyone will be so afraid to say anything as to not be called a racist , etc. Seems to be the POTUS is helping this too! IMO.

      • Scott Beeker

        Cole
You assume terrorist are like American citizens. These people willingly commit suicide to praise Allah! If you really research you will find that ISIS has oil revenues of $2B a day. Iran also backs them to some degree (even Obama knows this.) Russia just sold Iran weapons and Obama is giving nukes to Iran. ISIS is 8 miles from our US border.

      • cole

I don’t assume the terrorist are like American citizens, the problem for the terrorist would be to assume the American citizen is like the Middle East people who are not armed, if they where armed they would be fighting the terrorist amongst them.
The reprisal from America is what gives the terrorist pause in some of their actions against us, that is why they are recruiting people already in the country so the reprisal will not come their way, all the Oil that Isis is stealing and strategically placing their city’s in the direct path of the Iranian Oil pipes to be built to import Iranian oil to Europe, ISIS wants to be the middleman, they will not hold those positions for much longer, the Iranians and Russians want ISIS gone because that’s oil Russia wants Europe to buy both ways from them and their Interest in the Iranian Oil companies.
Russia and America and all the world leaders are looking to Iran to stabilize the MiddleEast after Saudi Arabia lost control of it’s mercenary’s which is ISIS, Saudi Arabia is the one destabilizing the Middle East to keep control of it’s Oil Empire, which is why for the first time in your memory you see Saudi Arabia using it’s Military In Yemen which controls the water ways into the Middle East.
And ISIS is not 8 miles from our border, believe this those Drug Lords are not about to upset their best customer for some terrorist from the other side of the world, ISIS would not dare give their presence away in Mexico to drug lords because those drugs lords would kill them on the spot, messing with their big money customers, anything that happens bad in America hurts their sales period.

      • Scott Beeker

ISIS does not have to steal the oil. They have $2B of oil revenues from parts where they are in agreement with Iran. Iran is 50% in the ISIS battle. Depends up region. Last week three ISIS operatives were detoured from an attack on couple sherriffs in TX(may been AZ). Iran, China , Russia signed agreement last week or week before. Iran is already getting shipment of “defense” only weapons as when Obama did not follow through Russia said screw it an violated the UN sanctions on Iran. Russian economy will be tightly tied to Iran as will China real soon. US was not involved in Trade agreements where the currency of standard which used to be US dollar was removed. The prophecy of most is that China, Iran, and Russia will start to inherit the earth. Iran hates Israel and has openly stated they will go after them. ISIS is 8 miles from border where the drug lords are working with them. This country in deep do-do real soon!

      • cole

Iranian revoluntionary guard is helping Iraqis with fighting ISIS, and yes it’s to get control of those Oil shipments and oil target areas, which is why ISIS was originally funded by rich Saudi’s, that backfired since the wolves of ISIS don’t need Saudi’s money anymore, and are know threatening them, Yes China and Russia are trying to get the world money change to their currency, but until they stamp out the illusion of corruption it will be a long time coming before countries transfer their safe money from the Banks in New York to the Banks in Beijing, the Chinise primeminister is trying to clamp down on that know, it behoves us to make sure that we are always a safe alternative to those emerging markets, it’s called competition, something the white business man as been losing out to Chinese investors, Once again, the Drug lords are not going to anger their biggest customer who so happens to Have it’s DEA gets drugs into the country, if they sided with the terrorist our military would be down their quick dismanteling them, go ask Norieaga if he still thinks he was safe when he crossed us, come on man the drug lords are not that stupid.

      • Scott Beeker

And not terrorist from Middle East are nothing like Americans or American Soldiers. 30% of this country cannot even get jobs because they have no drive. The military has been severely disrupted recently which will take time to undo damage Obama has done. The islamic driven terrorist are quite suicidal. Those would be the real ISIS members. Yes they have sleeper type people in the US. In fact most countries in the world have them now…… We have placed many Iran people into our military under Obama! Some of them could be sleepers. This is not Kansas anymore.!!! Obama has never engaged any enemy except to be part of a coalition. What this means is we would be in a war with no real US military in control but a coalition. See how those work…. We have about a 3% hit ration on bombings depending upon how you measure it. That is 90% of our bomb runs we drop no bombs. Of the bombs dropped on targets about 20% hit.
This is when US takes back seat!

      • deckbose

That is the least comprehensible post I’ve seen this year.

      • seththayer

in your opinion…there are no facts in your statement.

      • Scott Beeker

Like it will be under Obama! Obama is bringing the threat of Middle East onto our soil.. Already have had them come in from Mexico. Obama is allowing these jerks to infiltrate US. Bush knew the ISIS was axis of evil and tried to stop it. Bush spent too much money for a conservative but at least most of the world still resepected us. By the time Obama out of offfice Iran will have nukes, Israel will be wiped out, and the ISIS will be beheading US citizens in the US. Meanwhile when Obama leaves our debt will be around $26T as we have spent that already with hidden money exchanges coming due in 2016 to pay off insurance companies for ACA disaster. (Obama promised to cover the losses for them.) Meanwhile Illegals will soon be voting and milking the tax payers. Bush was a genuinely good guy but 9/11 was a twist no other president had to deal with. Bush left Obama with a fairly stable Middle East. Unemployment numbers under Bush were getting good until the democrats took congress and senate in 2006 and torpedoed the efforts. Bush has many vacations but really were working vacations at his ranch. Obama is just golfing on the taxpayers dime. Honestly, the man is pathetic. To even see hit pieces from liberal morons is sickening.

      • Mark Gruben

ISIS didn’t even exist as such when Bush was President, having originated as an arm of Al-Qaeda in August, 2011, some 2 1/2 years after Bush walked, smirking, from the Oval Office. Your other comments are just absurd conjecture, but the part about unemployment numbers “getting good” is spit-the-coffee-across-the-room laughable. The rate went up nearly 70%, from 4.4% to 8.3%, in Bush’s final year in office. I’m not saying the Democrats are blameless, but Bush essentially just collected a paycheck in 2009 for his relentless efforts to rid the Crawford ranch of armadillos.

      • Scott Beeker

ISIS is a manifestation of other terror group in the Middle East! What is going on in the Middle East is what Bush was trying to prevent. Sadly, ISIS is now 8 miles from the Mexico border and has already infiltrated the US. So keep blaming Bush. Bush going to Crawford is work at home. Not vacations. But of course you have facts??? At the time Bush was in office I worked on Homeland. Very aware of what goes on in Middle East and where Bush was. Keep blaming Bush. Point is Sadam threatened the world to destroy oil field. There is actually a real reason why we went into Iraq. Then there are the public talking points. FYI the WMDs have been found! I think laughable is Obama stating that Iraq was stable so he pulled out. Now we have serious issues. Oh and this is not me saying it! Go read every Saudi, India, Pakistan, Syria, India, etc. news paper. Look at every cartoon joke that is in all the newspapers outside this country laughing at Obama. You really have no clue what the state of Middle East was before Bush, After Bush, and current. Go ahead keep reading the progressive news. FYI, most people know the truth. Iran will have nukes soon. FYI in last three days alone there have been three takeovers by ISIS. On US soil we have already had attacks. Obama took charge when he pulled out of Iraq to make his political campaign promise against the advisors of whom he selected. Yes ISIS existed but not by the acronym… The middle east was on fire half way in Clintons presidency. At the time they were closely watched. Sadam made a threat to the world. Go research what Sadam did with Russia and China prior to the UN resolution. Facts are facts!

      • JohnL1313

You are correct. ISIS formed under Obama’s watch.

The unemployment rate did go up under Bush’s final year in office. What policies did he enact that caused this to go up? You understand the Democrats were in complete control of both the House and the Senate beginning in January 2007. There isn’t one thing Bush did in his final two years that didn’t first go through the Democrat controlled congress.

      • Scott Beeker

Obama gave free phones! That helped the Telecomm industry! I tried to do calculations on that one and figured out that the average phone cost to tax payers is like $22K each year. Seems like a lot of overhead to admin the system. to me.

      • JohnL1313

Oh, you also only gave the bad statistics for Bush. You left out the drop in unemployment rate from 6.3% to 4.3% despite inheriting (using Obama’s words) a recession and the bubble bursting of the stock market. Not to mention the 9/11 attacks of which 98% of which were planned under the noses of Clinton/Gore.

      • Susan

Only thing I can figure is you live in an alternate universe that accidentally posted your thoughts in ours.

      • Scott Beeker

Yeah in my alternate Univrse ISIS is 8 miles from our Mexico border… ISIS is made up of many terrorist factions and has been threat for many years. Clinton did not go in but watched the situation. Saddam made some threats… Threats about nuking the oil in the Middle East etc. So when your driving your green prius and on high horse about oil etc. Consider the world in an economic meltdown because the economy of the world is driven by oil! Obama is bing laughed at by all countries. Go read real news papers in the world. Go read Saudi, Syria, India, etc newspapers. Obama has let the world down. He is being laughed at by the world.. Only you “progressives” do not have a clue. ISIS will be coming into US more and more. Last weekend ISIS attack of several sheriffs in TX. So you expert on Iraq? I worked for Counter Intelligence during the Iraq War start. Ask your self why all our military are reenlisting and going back to Iraq! Being an emu with head in the sand will get you a lot of sand!

      • cole

If you work in counter Intelligence then you are the problem, your so call intelligence did not stop 9/11, hell it’s done more to involve us clandestine to American civilian knowledge, in other country’s affairs to benefit a few rich Americans and run covert wars of the books, your job description is noting to brag about.

      • cole

Somebody get this guy a couch before he faints, ISIS will be cutting Americans heads off in America, and Israel will be blown off the map, if any of those things happebns then we will be at war and anyone who is the President at that time will go and kick ass.
And once again, Obama has more top terrorist killed than any world leader in History, the top 30 Terrorist are dead because Obama gave the order, any new person tries to keep his name a secret or changes his name so he won’t get put on Obama’s hit list, Middle Eastern women use Obama and his drones to scare their children like the boogey man, please sir no one was scared of Bush, but we all thought he was funny.

      • Scott Beeker

We have already had four beheading or attacks US. We have already heard the Iran threats of Israel. Probably why most people in this country that have a brain are concerned. Most of the world have cartoons of the joke we call Obama! President Obama will never go to war! He has shown that. Oh yeah his terrible threatening red line. Pathetic stupid ignorance of facts run rampant in your family history?

      • Mark Gruben

I beg to differ. Had Al Gore been President, he’d have read the damned dossier warning of the impending threat…..and you can best believe he’d not have spent 42% of his time – up to then – “ON VACATION” as George W. Bush did. I think it’s fair to surmise that there would have been no 9/11 had Gore been elected, and Bush sent back to Texas to renew his subscriptions to TV Guide and Grit.

      • JohnL1313

What was new in the August PDB? Nothing. It was a rehash of previous intelligence reports with nothing to act on. Gore was in office when Al Qaeda attacked the US and US interests abroad during the 90’s and he and Clinton did nothing to curb or respond to the attacks. In fact, they rejected the Sudan’ offer to turn over Bin Laden to us in 1994/95.

      • Mark Gruben

Really, JohnL1313? Were you privy to the contents of that PDB? Incidentally, the letters PDB suggests that it is something the President needs to read DAILY…whether or not he’s on vacation, or even visiting his brother in Florida, doing what he will.. You may also recall that Bush had been in office more than eight months by that time, so it matters not what Gore and/or Clinton may have done, or not done. Eight months is plenty of time to do something – anything – and the whole world saw the tragic results of his leadership.

      • JohnL1313

Yes, Presidential Daily Briefing. He was briefed on it daily whether he was in the WH, playing golf, or working from his home in Texas.

Were you privy to the contents? It was determined that there was no actionable intelligence. Sure, Bin Laden was intent on attacking America. We’d known this since the first WTC bombing in February 1993. There was nothing in the PDB giving them anything to act on – Bin Laden will do this at such and such time and place -.

Eight months? He’s in office eight months and it’s his fault? What about the previous eight years when NOTHING was done to curb Bin Laden and Al Qaeda? What was W going to do in eight months? Revamp the entire CIA and FBI? This isn’t even realistic.

Hypothetically speaking Mark, what would you have been willing to accept as a citizen? How would you have perceived the Patriot Act and the ultra-heightened airport security BEFORE 9/11? Because I know I would have called Bush and Cheney fear mongering fascists using a vague PDB as an excuse to exert heavy handed government surveillance over the citizens.

      • Scott Beeker

John, Bush vacations were working at home most of time. I used to be responsible for the preparation of one of the reports which if formulated into the briefings for Bush. Bush was meeting with many foreign people at his Ranch and Camp David. Bush working at home basically. Funny thing most people do not seem to catch with Bin Laden.. Bush put into effect the Intelligence Agencies that found / tracked Bin Laden and gets no credit.. The Patriot Act Bush gets beat up on was solely having a fast track to get warrants. They started keeping track of meta data phone records to be able to quickly find whom calls whom when they pick up a phone in battlefield. The Patriot Act was solely meant to quickly get warrants. That is if you have a graph of all phones calling other phones you have a reasonable suspicion to get warrant of people a terrorist was talking to.. When a terrorist is killed they take the sim card quickly and run a check for known assoicates. Obama has extended the act for his agenda.

      • Scott Beeker

Actually, Mark, Yes I was privy to the reports that Bush got! Were you! Also, Mark I know for a fact what Bush was doing on those so called vacations! Do you! FYI he was at Camp David most of those so called vacations. You are aware of course that Bush did have to deal with 9/11 and with a new on soil terroism . FYI the patriot act was conceived of at Camp David on bushes vacation and written! Many Arab leaders went to Camp David to meet with Bush about Iraq, Syria ,etc.

So I would like for you to explain how you are an expert? Personally , I think you have no evidence and make things up.

After 9/11 many agencies in US had to be retakes to work together to provide more accurate and complete Intel. Much of this plan was done in Crawford.

You know being at home at your ranch does not mean you are not working! Government work from home all the time.

Everywhere President goes there is a communicaiton center, a phone, etc.

By the way while talking about vacations. Reagan was the biggest Fan of Golf before the presidency… He never once played golf while he was president as to make sure the citizens knew he was not wasting the countries time. That is he felt guilty.

Obama has not secured the mexico border and lets people come in over border. Obama has let ISIS build a camp in Mexico 8 miles from border. Obama by starting his discussions with Iran opened door for Iran to get weapons from Russia and nukes very soon…

      • Scott Beeker

        PDB?

      • JohnL1313

        Presidential Daily Brief(ing).

      • Scott Beeker

I feel stupid now. I was at ONI and responsible for system that created reams of data that I know analyst turned into a Daily Brief but never put the President word in front. To us it was for the Agency chief. Thanks, learned another acronym…

      • Scott Beeker

He may have been in Crawford but he was working! President can use the phone in other office you do know! FYI Most of the 42 % you discuss was actually at Camp David. If your going to act smart I mean. Camp David was used because many of the leaders Bush had to deal with were from Saudi, Kuwait , Qatar, etc. As you know muslims were very much hated after 9/11 .. Bush felt a low profile meeting with leaders at camp david to be wise. So if you really want to talk about vacations you ought to actually understand the concept of out of office work! Not sure what your background is but sure it is not intelligience agency based. Bush had more to deal with than any other president. Right or Wrong he took the information that was given about Iraq and suggestions of his team and acted. Something Obama has not done. FYI , the WMD weapons they were tracking were found…. At least the evidence of the materials was. So your comment that Gore acted. Bush did act and you beat him up… If Gore would have acted you would be beating him up for same thing. Actually since he is liberal you would not….

Obama is knowingly letting ISIS people walk across our mexico Border…..

Obama is knowingly letting Iran get nukes.

Iran is threatening to kill the US citizens.

        Makes sense to me !!!!!

      • Robert

9/11 wouldn’t have happened under a President Gore. He actually read his daily briefings.

      • Daryl Watson

If it wasn’t for Ross Perot Clinton would never have been president. Elected with only 43% of the popular vote.

      • Emma Goff

Please don’t blame Nader for W. If more had listened and voted him in we might have avoided Drumpf.

      • Tel-Jonah Stern

Then you will have the single party totalitarian utopia of your dreams, chickenlittle.

      • Stephen Barlow

There is no utopia. You will NEVER get a nation that is 100% 1%ers. LMAO!

      • regressive white trash reli

would this include the utopia that white trash regressive repub religious scum want for ALL americans? ( they don’t),,,,,,,or that paradise given to us by the PRIOR (BUSH2) administration???

      • deckbose

Wow, you’re not just incoherent, you’re remarkably ignorant as well.

      • Scott Beeker

Pass to laws. Only balanced budgets! Only constitutional laws! Undo all the actions which were passed unlawfully. That is go back to the founding fathers. Tax everyone same share so people cannot live off others. Things will fix themselves. People will find jobs as not to starve to death…… There is no motivation to look for jobs when you get $40K in funding to not work.

      • Mark Gruben

“$40K in funding to not work.” What planet do you live on anyway?

      • Susan

He lives in an alternate universe that is somehow funneling his thoughts to this dimension.

      • Scott Beeker

Food stamps, EBT, Rent assistance, oil fuel assistance, electricity, welfare, medical, dental, blah blah blah… When you add it up by each state you will find that many states are pay around $40-$50K . In fact the average person using all the programs have effective salary of $20 / hour when you put in the tax consequences. There are many sites that document this!!

      • Scott Beeker
      • Scott Beeker

Go look what all the government programs add up to if you have a family and are on EBT, Food Stamps, etc. Do you know across 9 agencies there are 86 programs of which pay for taxi rides to the doctor. Free fuel assistance for oil, free phones, free utilities, housing assistance, medical, dental, public school lunches, There are like 1000 programs that if you add it up. $40K in MD…. I could give you a site but then you would claim the site was biased.

      • Tel-Jonah Stern

You kids do know it means more to be a Democrat than hating republicans, right? How many of you know founding principles or even knew they exist?

      • Stephen Barlow

        Enumerate them for us please.

      • Glenna Jones-Kachtik

There is a big difference between founding principles & what some people believe them to be. It should mean more to be a Republican than just hating Obama too.

      • Scott Beeker

People hate Obama from both democrat and republicans because he is a narcist, liar, con man, idiot. He is a smug idiot that is lying to this country. Blacks who voted for him are upset because all the things they were promised not coming true. Far right hates him because he is shredding the constitution. The only people that actually still like Obama are die hard liberals that never vote anything but liberals. Obama talks only to high school kids and college kids because when talking to adults paying the bills he gets called out for his lies. Obama is a joke! College kids are turning more and more conservative everyday because they understand they have been lied to. The best is yet to come…….. When Obama leaves office we will be at $25T debt. He has already spent it….. China is going to call in the notes! The now $170T in unfunded liability for a country with a GDP / Tax revenue of $4T will be crushed just like Hitlers Germany… Because the same people pulling Obamas puppet strings pulled Obamas… Being stupid and not seeing how much a liar, narcissi, Obama is as not to be called racist etc. is just dumb. The man is a conman playing this country!

      • cole

If any country calls on us to pay our debt, then we will call on them to pay what they owe us, A lot of you people are under the assumption that we only owe people and they don’t owe us, Sorry to tell you people this if America was to call it’s money due, we would get back more than we owe, if china screws us they will in effect screw the rest of the world because we would be forced to tell them to pay up so we can pay china, this will cause China problems because they will get the blame, sorry People Governments that are allowed to run Deficits cannot be looked upon like the common citizen and when he owes the creditor.

      • Scott Beeker

Glenna People hate Obama because he does not follow the constitution! This is why Tea Party came about. They do not care about the far right agenda but want government to follow constitution! and control thier spending to what constitution allows! Bascially libertarians that still think some involvement in the world is still needed. But the left and far right condemned them. MSNBC torpedo the Tea Party and has no clue what they represent. Most of the tea party are libertarians that want the Constitution in force and Balance Budges! Funny this used to be what republicans and democrats were before Obama! Funny as the difference between republicans and democrats in the middle used to be minor with how much world affaris we involve with. Just look what the Saul Alyskey tactics has done to this country by Obama!

      • Mark Gruben

Of course. But why don’t you tell us anyway? We Democrats need you Republicans to constantly educate us, and remind us that your party didn’t exist until the 1850’s….somewhat after the founding of the nation.

      • Scott Beeker

Actually Tel I tend to make distinction between progressive liberals and democrats. Democrats in the middle and regular republicans used to be very similar where they wanted reasonable budget controls and reasonable social control. Democrats tend to be anti war.. However, Obama is a socialist progressive liberal. This is why republicans do not like him.. There is a far right extreme too. If you go back in the media and look over the MSNBC broadcast (ecpeically Matthews) you will see that prior to Obama they were saying Race was really not an issue. You will see Matthews praised Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. Obama has polarized people to really start class, social, and race wars. You may think that is a leader but most people do not. FYI I never cared about politics before Obama. That is my basic political statement was Anyone stupid enough to put thier family through the abuse of any political office deserves it! T/C!

      • cole

So Obama told all those CEO’s and Heirs to Family Empires to pay themselves Ludacris paychecks and stock options and demanded the workers get paid crap, you know Classism, and then he told the Gays to raise holy hell in a private meeting between just them and in that meeting they where planning on attacking the Religious sensabilaties of the Christains, and then the next day he held a secret meeting with the Blacks and said antagonize racist police by holding their hands up or stripping but naked to prompt the cops to shoot them to make the racist mad, Yes I’m sure Obama did all of that, man your crazy, your hatred and crazy mind think, of this man should shame you.

      • Scott Beeker

No cole it is you that is crazy and a liar! I stated nothing of what you said! You are a manipulative liar. I stated that Obama is a socialist agenda person that has polarized the population. Fact is he uses Saul Alynsky principles to do this. He smirks when he does his little statements. Obviously, you choose to make up statements that were never made! Shame on you as you are a severe liar! Something America really does not need is morons that make up facts to prove point! Obama is a talker that lies and manipulates people! 70% of the population know this!

      • simmss

Yha, how are all the states that are now being run by the democrats doing. Look it up. Again, liberals do not like facts.

      • Mary Kay Dennehy

Yes, we know the policy: Vote early and vote often!

      • cowcharge

        Try it.

      • Curtis B

Yeah Andy cause that will change my opinion that Obama should hang for treason.

      • sueatt

Treason??? My god you all are just nuts.

      • Gary Miles

On what specific charges, Curtis? Let’s see an itemized list of reasons he should be charged with treason. Start listing…

      • joe geshel

Giving aid and comfort to the enemy. That concludes the charge of treason.

      • Dingadingdong

Joe Gashel Unfortunately for you, an opinion stolen from every right wing conspiracy theory website is not the same as conclusive evidence. Get a clue.

      • Mark Gruben

Fine. If this be treason, let the House make the most of it. And since they haven’t, and probably won’t, they are every bit as culpable, complicit, and cognizant.

      • Susan

Oh seriously. So I am to gather from this that you think those 47 traitorous senators should all be hanged since they publicly subverted our government?

      • Dylan Hendrix

The dipshit is strong with this one!

      • Burt Lopresti

Curtis can you come up with some facts as to why he should hang for treason or are you just using FOX entertainment “talking points”? A mind really is a terrible thing to waste when you can’t “think” for yourself

      • Tel-Jonah Stern

Why not use Fox? Other networks repeat Obama WH “talking points” without verifying, and Obama lies all the time.

      • regressive white trash reli

FOX “news” and scum such as Bachmann and cruz and beck have been caught lying the most–by FAR—so u ( again) LOSE

      • Scott Beeker

Interstingly for what 15 years Fox has gained market share because of trust of thier news. Yeah some of the non news shows push an agenda. Nothing like MSNBC or CNN. In fact go watch old Chris Matthews where he praised Glenn Beck on Fox and Rush Limbaugh. Sadly if you go back few years before Obama .. MSNBC and CNN are almost bankrupt because they have no viewers.

      • Scott Beeker

FYI Bachmann only one trying to stop US people going to terrorism and back.

I would put Harry Read, Pelosi, Boxer, well above Ted Cruz or Backman for lying.

Harry Read on national TV bragged he made up info just to say an election…. You really should consider getting some actual intelligence before commenting.

      • deckbose

Like whom, for example? Would you dare to offer a link or some facts, or do you prefer to rant like an insane person?

      • Scott Beeker

RU that blind. Here is an obvious one. Hillary sent out here key word list and watch all news change the words they use to describe her. RU that blind. Funny thing that the reason most people have stated in surveys for not watching the MSNBC and CNN is exactly what Tel Jonah stated. Gee Fox news has for 15 years consistenlty gained share over all others put together. Fact are fact! Bilderberg group controls the news! HAs for hundred years or so! Oh wait that is why everyone drove Glenn Beck off Fox. Guess what so many people watch him now he went fro $250K a year to owning the fasted growing TV NETWORK. His network is bigger than Oprah now! Pretty good for a 2 year effort. You would be wise to research the Bilderberg control of the media. Some call it the list of 300, The 1% peoplle call them greedy corporations! Wake up !!

      • deckbose

It’s a pity you’re a functional illiterate. You’d be comical if you could actually speak English.

      • Scott Beeker

I will take my literacy and intelligience over yours any day any week! Obviously in the grade school you went they did not teach you about facts. Dispell the evidence that Hillary gave out a list and the news uses it. Factual information like this seems to make idiots like you create attacks on people based upon non factual attacks. Where did you learn that. Oh yes, the Saul Alyskey bible ” Rules For Radicals” of which Hillary and Obama follow. That is when your too much an idiot to use facts in an argument you should deflect with personal attack! Sadly, you have proven to be much of what is wrong in this indoctrnated society we now live in due to liberals like yourself. Any time you want to go into a a debate.

      • deckbose

It’s not Saul “Alyskey,” moron. It’s Alinsky. There is no such word “Dispell” — it’s spelled dispel, and it means to dissipate or squander, not to dispute. Your writing is embarrassingly incoherent. You act as though “facts” are important to you, but your communication skills prove otherwise. If you need to debate someone, I suggest you find a deluded 8th grader because that’s where I clock your intellectual speed.

      • Mark Gruben

Because surveys have shown that people who have NO source of news – those who, essentially, choose to remain uninformed – score higher on tests of factual knowledge of world and national events than do FOX viewers. Put another way, learning nothing at all is superior to learning from FOX News.

      • Scott Beeker

Other networks are under Bilderberg control and guess what the number one contributor of Obama..

      • David G

        Treason for what exactly?

      • Glenna Jones-Kachtik

Treason for whatever Meagan Kelly or Elizabeth Hasselback or that deluded bleached blond ex porn star or any of the dimwits on Fox say he should be hung for…….you know …the reasons the tea party people can’t spell but plaster on their signs anyway……

hes a saint to get U regressive crybabies so uptight—

      • JohnL1313

This is the worst economic recovery following a major recession in our nation’s history. A basic economic principle says that the deeper the recession, more “booming” the recovery as there is an abundance of low hanging fruit to reap, especially in the unemployment area. Q1 2014 saw a negative GDP in fact. Hopefully we are trending upward.

The true unemployment % is still double digits due to an almost record number of people not participating in the labor force and collecting unemployment instead. In fact, according to the BLS if the same number of people participated in the labor force today as were in January 2009, we’d have close to an 11% unemployment rate. Further, other reports have shown that almost the entirety of job gains merely matches the immigration #’s over the past five years, thus, American’s aren’t gaining jobs, we are just treading water.

It is good that we are starting to head in the right direction, hopefully; but it is startling to see how long it has taken. We should have seen 4-8% GDP growth numbers much earlier and much much more consistently. Instead we are getting 2-3%, then a drop, then a rise, etc. Of course the government is breaking records with the highest tax revenues in history so that money is being taken from the market place and restricts growth.

      • regressive white trash reli

u keep 4getting the “job participation” is becoming a useless

      • JohnL1313

Right, the primary reason for the drop in unemployment % is due to people leaving the workforce. Period. If those people were still in the workforce and accounted for in the unemployment calculation we’d still have double digit unemployment.
        —————————————-
Your December 2008 vs December 2014 is a false paradigm – you are viewing history in a vacuum. Wouldn’t it be more appropriate if we compare USA 2001-2006 vs USA 2009-2015? After all, the Democrats had control of both houses of congress starting in January 2007; everything Bush did in 2007 and 2008 first had to be passed by the Democrat controlled congress. The Democrats inherited a rolling economy in 2007. 4.3% unemployment and almost five consecutive years of GDP growth. The annual budget deficit which had ballooned to just over $500 billion in 2005 had been paid down to just over $100 billion by 2007. Bush’s worst annual deficit was less than Obama’s best deficit. The Democrats controlled the chairmanship of every oversight committee for a full 19 months leading up to the crash in September 2008. Where were they?

      • Mark Gruben

The sluggish rebound of the economy is true to the extent that it would have been a normal recession. The Bush recession, however, was a cascading and far-reaching recession, in some ways even more pervasive than that seen during the Great Depression. The recovery also, by the way, was slowed by the almost complete lack of cooperation from the Republican Party, which made it their mission to obstruct everything the Obama administration did, tried to do, proposed to do, wanted to do, or thought about doing. The party raised political foot-dragging to an art form.

      • JohnL1313

That isn’t true. Historically, the deepest recessions have led to the most booming recoveries, such as the Reagan recovery in the mid-80’s when we had GDP growth numbers at 6-8% (not the bleh 2-3% we have now) and monthly jobs #’s with 800,000 people being added to the workforce.

The Democrat Party has had majority control since January 2007. In fact, from January 2007 to January 2011 they controlled everything. When the Dems took both houses of congress in January 2007 the unemployment rate was 4.3% and the economy was in the midst of 50+ consecutive months of jobs and GDP gains.

Speaking of the “8 months” Bush had to stop Al Qaeda. What about the 18 months the Dems had to stop the crash in September 2008? They controlled both houses of congress and every chairmanship of every oversight committee starting in January 2007. What did they do to stop the crash?

The Republicans couldn’t stop Obama, they were the minority party in BOTH houses. Obama got everything he wanted. StimuLess, ObamaCare, Cash for Clunkers, extended unemployment benefits up to 99 weeks, draconian banking regulations. Everything. In fact, he promised us if we gave him the $800 billion StimuLess it would keep unemployment under 8%.

The Republicans, for all of their faults, were specifically chosen by the American people in November 2010 to be the hedge against Obama and the Dems. It was a record swing in the House.

Harry Reid purposely stonewalled close to 800 bills presented by the GOP House and never brought them to the floor for a vote. Talk about political foot dragging.

      • cole

Obama has ordered the dead of the top 30 terrorist in all disputed areas with Americans in them, to include Osama Bin Laden, the only person who needs to be tried for treason is Bush, Who in his own words said ” Osama Bin Laden is probably in a cave somewhere he is no longer our top concern” that statement alone is treason to all the soldiers who died trying to catch the real mastermind of 9/11, not Bushes made up war in Iraq which need his full attention.

      • JohnL1313

The mastermind of 9/11 was Khalid Sheik-Mohammed. We caught him pretty quickly. Bin Laden, while very important, wasn’t the strategic mastermind. We could have had him in Tora Bora in December 2001 but the military leaders were afraid of how a high body count would play in the media so instead of sending in Army Rangers, they used local militia and bombed from the air.

      • cole

Capturing Khalid Sheik-Mohammed was tantamount to ISIS catching a Navy Seal, Killing Bin Laden would be like ISIS Killing The President, Bin Laden was the Leader the final Word, the Financier, Mohammed was a instrument to be used by Bin Laden, And I’m sorry everyone knows the Tora Bora was to let the eternal Boogeyman stay on the lose to scare the American and World Public, during war you are not worried about a body count when getting your objective, if a high body count was so important, why where we increasing our presence in a hostile Iraq at the time? As Bush said the Boogyman is out their somewhere in a cave planning on attacking you again be afraid, why we will tell you what color rate of fear to be in at any given time like when said nobody puts out a video, nope we are not going after him and his ragtag team of terrorist it might be dangerous, no we want to go and fight a country with a so called trained military, why our soldiers would be safer fighting them instead, sir don’t drink the Government Kool aide.

      • JohnL1313

Really? Everyone knows that the evil Bush let Bin Laden go so he could use his aura to scare the American people? Good grief, where do you guys come up with this stuff? It’s not even grounded in reality. In-depth articles by the NY Times, Washington Times, and books such as “Jawbreaker” written by CIA insiders explain the two major factors of the failure in Tora Bora was the fear of a high body count if sending in hundreds of Rangers and fear of alienating the Afghani tribes by having such a high number of troops on the ground.

Yes, I agree, neither of these should factor in the decision during war, but they they did and their fears were played out accurately as evidenced by the continual harping of body counts by the Leftist media during the Bush Administration and the demoralizing affect it had on the American citizens. Amazingly, more soldiers were killed in Afghanistan under Obama yet nary a word from our “Free Press”.

Bin Laden was non-existent for his last five years, holed up in a Pakistani dump watching porn all day with scant communication to the outside. Yet, the Islamist fervor continued. He was a figure head only.

Oh, and the only reason we found Osama was because of information we ground out of Khalid.

      • cole

See you contradict yourself, Why would the U.S worry about a high body count and worry about the people of Afghanistan worrying about a foreign military, and then do the same thing with Iraq at the same time, They send in a lot of soldiers for Iraq against a standing army with ordinance and if you believe Bush, those soldiers where going to war with a madman with chemical weapons and possible nuclear, he did not worry about what the people of Iraq thought about a American military in their country, Also Bin Laden was living in the equivalent of a Pakistani Mansion with a courtyard and High walls to keep out the riff raff, here in America we call those Gated Communities, and we caught Bin Laden through his video man dropping tapes off to Al Jazeera.

      • JohnL1313

I didn’t contradict myself, I merely stated what the CIA operatives on the ground who were running the Tora Bora Operation said; which is, the military leaders were worried about a high body by sending in ground troops to hike up a mountain against an embedded enemy holding an elevated position.

And yes, they worried about the same thing in Iraq which is why they sent about 20% of what Colin Powell told them to send (I believe he recommended a minimum of 500,000 troops). This is also why the US Military used strategic air strikes instead of random carpet bombing that would have killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqi’s. This is why we dropped fliers via plane into Fallujah days before the invation warning them we were coming – this gave civilians (and Al Qaeda) a chance to escape.

The Left never misses a chance to blame the US military for the deaths of Iraqi civilians despite the fact we were not only not targeting them, but we based our operations around the ideal of how not to harm them while trying to root our the terrorists.

Meanwhile, Zarqawi and his band of butchers along with Iranian specialists were deliberately targeting civilians in an effort to intimidate them into not working with our soldiers to maintain the peace. They are the one’s who bombed mosques to foment a civil war, they are the one’s who butchered children and anyone in their way.

As Lenin and Stalin said about the American Left: “Useful Idiots”.

      • RB

Curtis B, you basically proved that Dave was correct in his assertion that conservatives are morons and idiots. They sit there, watching Fox News and looking at the WorldNewsDaily while getting red in the face while calling all liberals names. I think that the main problem with the current government is the Congress lead by John Boehner. If he would put legislation up for a vote, then certain legislation could be put forth into law. He won’t do it because he knows that it would pass. He is the prime example of a road block obstructionist that is keeping anything from being done. This sort of obstructionism was agreed upon by the conservative cabal right after President Obama was elected. If anybody should be impeached, it should be Boehner. I want to know, exactly, what “treasonous” acts that the POTUS has committed? If you ask this question to most any conservative, they have difficulty forming an answer and then when they remember those rote talking points they got from Fox News, they’ll start repeating them. I’ve found that their intelligence level is usually so low that it’s very easy to defeat any argument that they present.

      • James Novotny

Learn how it’s done. The House (John Boehner) passed over 350 bills. To get them to the President to sign them into law they must be ratified by the Senate. The house has forwarded those bills to the Senate but Harry Reid will not allow them to be examined by committee or go to the Senate floor for a vote. However, if they do that then they won’t have anything to lie about.

      • MrRibbert

Tax cuts for the rich disguised as jobs bills are not real bills. Also, EVERY single one of those 350 bills had a poison pill in there to defund Obamacare. Nice try Mr. Fox watching troll. Thanks for playing.

      • JohnL1313

The top 1% are already paying 40% of all federal income taxes. How much more of someone else’s money do you feel entitled to? If you want what they have, then earn it. If not, then don’t be envious of their success.

Regardless of what was in the bills, it was Reid’s responsibility to at least hold a vote. The legislative branch is divided for a reason – to ensure full representation – and by not bringing the bill up for a vote in the Senate he was denying the representation of the people who had PURPOSELY replaced the democrats in congress with republicans. For almost four years there voice was never heard. Due to Harry Reid. If the bill is so unpopular then the Senate would easily vote it down, right?

      • Daniel Ulloa

Dave that was beautifully stated….but facts won’t convince them. I’m dating a rebublican and she denies and thinks factual videos i send her are photoshoped or edited to say what we want it to spin it. She’s is so blinded. That’s why i can never take her serious.

Most of the people who commit gun violence don’t legally own guns. Take away my gun like in Chicago and the crime rate goes up. Give every law abiding citizen a gun and gun violence goes down like in texas

      • Dave

Funny thing is, most of the guns used in crimes in Chicago were purchased in border states with lax gun laws, same with Missouri. Background checks work.

I’ll give you some help. Federal background checks are required in every state.

      • Dave

The new York cop killer was a felon arrested 19 times and would have been denied the weapon under federal law if the NRA and CONservatives hadn’t blocked the Universal gun background checks bill last year. The blood is on your hands!

      • JohnL1313

He didn’t obtain the gun legally. It’s last traceable purchase was in 1996.

Silly Dave, you still think that a violent convicted felon intent on killing someone is going to be deterred by a gun law and say, “Aw shucks, I really wanted to kill the police but the darn gun law stopped me.” Fact is, violent criminals don’t obey the law. Pass all the laws you want, they only affect honest citizens, not criminals.

They aren’t deterred by the death penalty or life in prison, but somehow you think they’ll be deterred by yet another gun law? Further, you blame the gun, the inanimate object and not the criminal himself.

The blood is on the hands of the Left, including Holder and Obama and DeBlasio who’ve been bashing our police officers since Obama came to power and dividing our country along racial lines to foment bitterness and anger. That’s what community organizers do.

      • JohnL1313

Climate change is real and while we have some affect on it if you look at the hard scientific facts the earth has gone through global warming and cooling over and over because the earth works in cycles. • Dave

WTF??? That is most definitely not the gop. “You really don’t get it, do you? The entire country has been consistently running into a brick wall since you took the gavel from Nancy Pelosi. Every fake-repeal of Obamacare, every pointless law that bans abortions the moment a man ejaculates, the non-stop inquiries by Rep. Darrel “Dipshit” Issa into every burp, sneeze, cough and fart in the Obama White House, the Farm Bill being on hold for months now, the unemployment insurance you took away that is now screwing over hundreds of thousands of people, the lawsuit to defend DOMA, and oh yeah — shutting down the entire goddamned government — all if that is the brick wall your party has painstakingly erected over the last five years. You lot are the brick wall. You saw the direction the country was heading in 2008,after a nearly eight-year-long run with neoconservative bravado and disregard for the working class, and you immediately started working on building up your brick wall. That’s why Senator Mitch McConnell so famously said in the earliest days of Obama’s presidency that your party’s number one goal was to make him a one term president.”

      • JohnL1313

The unemployment rate was 4.3% when the democrats took control of both houses in January 2007. Bush was a lame duck with very low job approval ratings and no political backing.

So, tell me, who was passing budgets and controlling the oversight committees for almost two full years before the mortgage collapse in September 2008? Bush is certainly complicit by continuing the Progressive approach to government intrusion into the mortgage markets, but there is nothing he did that wasn’t first passed by Democrats in 2007-2008.

      • Dave

No, the crash was coming. Those dems kept that crash from being much worse. Your argument does not hold water. It was those same dems that turned around the Bush crash in the first 6 months under Obama. Progressive policy always works, the gop policy is a proven failure every time.

So tell me what bills did the dems put on Bushes desk that Bush signed that collapsed the economy that quickly.

      • Hobiedan

Well that sums it up. Exactly . Good post.

      • rwpjr84

Absolutely brilliant and well written. Thank you for speaking the truth. Bravo.

      • joe geshel

There you go condemning people who question and think for themselves while you swallow anything you read on the internet. The stats you showed are inflated and wrong. Peer review is now under suspicion because only friends with similar views are offered a chance to review. The fix is in. Don’t swallow. Observe and read the contrary views. They make better sense.

      • Dave

CONservatives don’t think for themselves. Did you ever notice that the people who think everyone in America should speak English, can’t speak it very well themselves, and they can’t spell it. — Why is that?

      • Leonard Lewis

I loved your response I could not have said it better. Well I guess it is time to get out the dumbrellas because it will continue to rain stupidity.

      • Scott Beeker

Explain to me why it is that liberals seem to need the conservatives to take care of them in terms of welfare, food stamps. Climate control is a hoax perpetuated by liberal professors that get funding to do climate control. So when you talk about Fox new FYI they have gained ratings because more and more people trust them over the so called news rags you are getting your news from. Pathetic how fact do not apply to liberals. The best part is the world you are creating with the freebie mentality is something you will be paying for in your future. Bush was not great in terms of funding issues because he was way too liberal. Obama is a joke! The country laughs at him and the world laughs at him. The world will not even respond to Obama anymore.. He has screwed this country up! Then again you are liberal so facts to not apply. Keep this in mind. Obama has lied about unemployment and ecomomy. The real truth is that most all the jobs created under Obama that are high paying were in Texas. Do your research as that is true. Obama takes credit for Bin Laden. Bush set up the intelligence network that was used of find him. Obama has most of the government agencies ripping off so many of the taxpayers it is incredible. Bush was a good leader but spent way too much. Bush FYI his terrible war. He knew all about ISIS and what the then called folks were about in the middle east. Obama refuses to deal with them leaving this for the next real leader to deal with. If we survive!

      • Bruce Butler

you are an idiot. i mean not a clue. turn off msnbc seriously. you think everyone who isnt a liberal is a racist? wrong on so many points and not worth the time to argue.

      • Dave

Not all CONservatives are racist, but all racist are CONservative! And your right! This person no longer wastes time debating with imbeciles who actually believe that republicons are the answer to our problems!

      • Steve Allen Graves

        Well spoke.

      • Griggs James

This guy is an idiot, tell me good sir how is it the guns fault that it shot someone, why isn’t it the person holding the gun that is committing the crime and probably stole the gun in the first place, why isn’t it their fault? Why put the blame on something that can’t pick itself up and point itself at the innocent. Also, how can you say we conservatives are racist? I have many black friends and so do all of my conservative friends. Intact I can’t think of one person I know that is black supports Obama or any of his decisions. Intact most of them prefer that Bush was still in office and that Obama becoming president was a mistake and should never have happened, not because of his color but because he was an experiment that the democratic party pushed on America and is failing. That’s why your really mad, isn’t it.

      • Dave

Guns cannot kill by itself. People with guns kill. That’s why over 90% of Americans favor expanded background checks. To keep dangerous people away from guns.

      • John_E_Hess

Also…if you disagree with them with things such as “science” and/or “facts” then you are either part of the conspiracy or you forgot to put on your tin-foil hat and are being manipulated by the media (and your own research).

      • Dave

Exactly. TIN FOIL HATS! 62% of republicans believe Obama is secretly trying to take everyone’s guns away. 42% believe he’s secretly trying to figure out a way to stay in office beyond Jan 2017. 21% believes the government plans and executes mass shootings and terrorist events. And 100% don’t know the deficit is less than a third of what it was when Obama took office if 2009. Explains a lot, doesn’t it!

      • simmss

Yesterday a list of weapons that have killed more people in the U.S. was the baseball bat. FBI stat.

        Great response Dave.

Remind me again, what was today’s terror alert color? Oh that’s right we only worried about daily terror attacks when captain hee haw was President. Now tell me again how we were safer then?

      • Stephen Barlow

        LMAO @ Capt’n HeeHaw!!!!

      • Vinegaroon

Good point Sean, hit the nail on the head and Captain Hee Haw is a stroke of brilliance.

      • Jeff Anspach

Economy stronger? We lost over 500k jobs in bush’s last month. World was safer? WIth Bin Laden running free? Boy are you a bush apologist.

You really weren’t paying attention were you?

      • Stephen Barlow

Except of course from manufactured intelligence information, invasions of Sovereign Nations and the manslaughter of almost 4500 Americans in Iraq and the murder of more than 110,000 Iraqi children, women and men.

Not to mention the conspiracy with the United States of 70+ other nations who housed American Black Ops Prisons where untold hundreds of ‘enemy combatants” were tortured, maimed of murdered by the Bush Administration. Then think of ALL the counter American invasion terrorism as in the Spanish and London subway bombings that were directly inspired by the horrific human rights offenses and war cries of the Bush Administration. then there were 92 deaths in 13 Embassy bombings that Congress NEVER ONCE investigated under the Bush Regime.

That sure sounds a lot safer then the killing Bin Laden when Bush was paying Pakistan $6 Billion a year to keep him safe and bringing The American troops home from Iraq AND Afghanistan.

      • Dizzle56

What cracks me up is you are writing that after reading an article that literally refutes everything you just wrote with indisputable facts.

      • Silkie

DID YOU READ THE COLUMN THAT MR. ALLEN WROTE? MAYBE YOU ARE ONE OF THE REPUBLICANS THAT BENEFITED FROM THE KICKBACKS.

      • Silkie

MANY BELIEVE, AND I DO TOO, THAT BUSH KNOWING SENT TROOPS TO MIDDLE EAST TO CAPTURE/KILL SADAM; THE MAN WHO THREATENED HIS DAD. BUSH SHOWED NO SIGN OF BEING INTERESTED IN OSAMA OR ELSE HE WOULD HAVE CAUGHT HIM JUST AS EASILY AS PRES. OBAMA.

      • Vinegaroon

Willy, you didn’t read the article

      • Since you’re probably one of those people who think that we shouldn’t be relying on foreign oil either, I hope you also blame Obama for foreign oil imports being down 33% since he took office…

      • Kenric L. Ashe

The “War on Terror” has made us far LESS safe. Unfortunately Obama is just another puppet actor, too.

      • Adam Stoll

More people were working…You watch Fox News for your “Facts” don’t you?
How was the world safer. I’m willing to listen to factual arguments towards your opinion.

      • Annie Cook

Did you READ the article? CAN you read? Turn off the Fox please, you’re ignorance is showing.

      • Ricardo Carrasco

Really sir???? You didn’t read the article did you???? Racism and Ignorance is what this country doesn’t need but we are sooooo fully of it!!!! Good day sir

      • Jerome

You have a funny view of 9-11. You think THAT was safer? You are insane.

And the rest of what you said were just lies.

      • clr1390

800 thousand jobs a month lost in 08. Safer……9/11. if something like that had happened under Obama….OMG..13 Embassy attacks with hundreds killed too….Housing market crashed too….I could go on, and on, and on….

      • Vivien Latham

The world was a safer place?? SAFER? Over three *thousand* people were killed on Sept. 11th. Your precious Dubya sat in a classroom with a dazed expression as if waiting for Poppy Bush to tell him what to do. He had intelligence in August that Bin Laden was ‘determined to attack INSIDE the United States’…and he did NOTHING. 3000 dead on George W. Bush’s watch – and the GOP hails him a strong leader. 4 people dead in Benghazi – and you want to impeach President Obama. Two wars under Bush. Unpaid for. A recession. Did you not read the article? America was losing jobs. More people were unemployed. Experts say it was the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.

        You really are delusional.

      • Craig Peters

        Self-delusion is a powerful force

      • Mikey 444

are you stupid or is it that you just can’t read???

      • Carol Ann Hunigan Booher

The economy stronger were you living on mars at the time thousands were losing their homes, jobs being sold left and right you are either a fool or the stupidest human alive Fite.

      • ChiTownArkie

That was a facetious remark wasn’t it William Fite? I sure hope so because if it wasn’t, you prove Rick Santorum’s remark about “the GOP will never attract the smart people”.

      • Johnny Echols

You must be living in an alternate Universe, or the Twilight Zone!

      • Bob Cambron

In the alternate universe I live in; the dems crashed the economy by demanding loans for unqualified people, by and with help from Republicans that repealing Glass/Stegle Act (Clinton/Gram), Clinton failed to get OBL because he was to busy getting his dick sucked, 911 also contributed to worsening economy. More have died in Afghanistan since your messiah has taken office, the stock market is a hoax with Fed pumping, wages are stagnant, commodities cost are up, foreign oil imports are down because mister “I got a pen and a phone” hasn’t been able to stop fracking on private property. Guess you intellectuals probably think open borders is a good thing too. Unemployment count doesn’t take into account people who stop looking for work. Debt is all time high (O debt spending greater than all previous combined), deficit is lower thanks to sequester. Why not have another government shut down so “make the citizens suffer” can shut down some more public parks, memorials, etc. you guys lost, consequences – embrace the suck!

      • Dave Girvin

Perfect example of someone living with “Obama derangement syndrome”, contracted by viewing to much fox noise. Symptoms include memory loss, name calling, constantly mumbling “it’s not because he’s black”, crying about “entitlements” while cashing their soc. sec checks and irrational fits of raging nonsense. Unfortunately there’s no cure, however symptoms might lessen when Obama’s term is up, unless he imposes Marshall Law and declares himself king.

      • Dave Girvin

      • MrRibbert

Thank you for proving Lisa’s point.

LOL. completely ignoring the Facts.. typical.. Its funny how the one thing you can say for sure as Fact is that people like him and their moronic idealogy is that they will IGNORE facts with impunity! You can’t even argue with these idiots. They live in a fairy tale bubble.

      • Michelle Wells

Can you read? Try fact checking then! Then quit being delusional!

      • Troy J. Addison Sr.

The economy was stronger? More people were working? And the world was a safer place? Really? Facts: The Great Recession hit! Jobless rates were as high as they had been in years and as far as safer goes well let’s see: 9/11, Iraq & Afghanistan begin and terrorist attacks elevated as a result of! Oh yeah it was much safer then! Not sure what planet you’re living on dude!

the only reason the economy was booming when he took office was because of Clinton . every time a republican leaves office it takes a democrat 3 to 4 yrs. to clean up the mess they made with the bush’s leaving office it takes 5 to 7 yrs. for democrats to clean up their messes

Ahhh, an economy that was “stronger”, blowing up like a balloon with no regulation to stop it. Glass-Steagall should of still been in effect but sadly it had a veto proof majority during the Clinton years and the Republican lead Congress that repealed it. Very delusional you Republicans are.

      • RedFaced1

        Satire?

Literally everything you just said is wrong.

        Yes, definitely satire.

      • Mark Gruben

Mr. Fite, with all due respect: wrong. wrong, and big-time wrong. The economy was NOT stronger. Look at the rise in the DJIA and NASDAQ, and the drop in the unemployment rate since Bush and Cheney left office. More people were NOT working. Again, look at the unemployment rate. It’s been cut almost in half since that time. And the world was absolutely, totally, most definitely NOT a safer place. Remember the two wars? Started for no good reason other than……what? No good reason at all! Can you possibly explain your rationale for these comments? (Not that you will…..but CAN you?)

      • Matt Pantages

the economy was stronger? how exactly was the economy stronger, when we were losing hundreds of thousands of jobs every month? the unemployment rate was 4.2% in January of 2001 and it 7.8% in January 2009..

the federal debt and deficit both DOUBLED during that same time… and we were in the midst of 2 unfunded, and unfounded wars based on lies… just how were we ‘safer’… ??

William Fite… were you living under a rock during those years…?

      • Robert

        You sir, are blind.

      • 2Smart2bGOP

WHAT are you smoking? Every single point you made is a lie. Do you watch anything but FOX “News”?
I wonder what color the sky is on your planet……oh wait a minute…..Lisa asked who in their RIGHT mind would want to go back; you’re quite obviously either insane or willfully stupid.

      • Griggs James

I would much rather have Bush in office than that idiot Obama. And how do you know it was Osama Bin Laden that he got, no one ever saw a picture of his dead both before they threw it in the ocean. Its kind of funny that he comes into office says he wants to end both wars and magically finds Osama. You democrats are what’s wrong with America today. Look at all the riots going on, did you see those when Bush was in office, no you didn’t. But it fine though, I understand we all need someone to put the blame on.

      • Charlie

“World was a safer place.” Jokes? You got jokes?

      • rejectrepublicanlies

It wasn’t stronger–we were in a nose dive starting in October of 2008. Don’t forget 911, lying us into a war, allowing Putin to invade Georgia, doing nothing about North Korea or Iran.

      • teebone13

Me. Anybody that wasn’t a welfare parasite. Anybody with half a brain….the list goes on; I grow weary….

      • lol.
in 2010 alone, more jobs were created than during the entire 8 years of GWB.
GWB saw a decline in the stock market.
GWB was losing 800,000 jobs / month when he left office.

        republicans are terrible at governing.

      • ABCXYZ123

No wonder they fooled you guys into voting for trickle down economics. They had people like you to vote for them. lol

    • toots

Not him or too many other presidents, they all seem to bring their own set of problems! But the politicians don’t help at times.

    • lex

Some of the people will say I’m using the race card, but, I’m simply pointing out the oblivious. When fox news refers to the president of the United States of America, they don’t call him President Obama. They call him obama. Don’t even capitalize his name sometimes. Most of his hurdles in office have came from Republicans that made a statement when President Obama took office vowing to have him removed and do everything in there power to stop his progress in office. And this is only 2 examples of how they discriminate this man. There was female Republicans that did vote for McCain, an elderly man that was a sexist and only provided the bare minimum when called out about it. I’m not even going to get started in this any more than I already have. I have a business to run that, thanks to President Obama and his tactics in office, I was able to get off the ground and hire others in as well as make sure they received more than adequate compensation for the work they do. And I did it with my own money. Nothing borrowed. Had to put that in there so those of you that read this 1 understand I work and 2 I didn’t get government assistance.

    • Tel-Jonah Stern

Most Americans. All of your claims about Bush that are some how supposed to excuse Obama are long since debunked anti-American propaganda various conspiracy theories. Ppl, especially veterans, aren’t as stupid as you think.

      • Dave Girvin

Claims about the bush admin don’t excuse obama, they’re not about obama, they’re laid right where they belong, in bush’s lap. Repubs are so uniformed and misled they think obama started the wars, bailed out wall st. and ruined the economy. Bad memories or successful brainwashing?

    • Van

You’re ALL using “irrelevant talking points” — especially this article. Bush did great things, and some mistakes. Obama did great things, and some mistakes. Together we can make this country great, if we’d just stop fighting.

    • Bruce Butler

you people are all insane. obama is no better then bush. you are arguing who is batter when they are identicle. obama continued or expanded every program bush had. he did basically the same as the previous with exception of everything after 9/11. the only difference obama has that i can see is his push for obamacare.

    • disqus_W47gpHId63

DO YOU MEAN FACTS?! YES, IT IS VERY INCONVENIENT I MUST SAY…GEESH!

    • King Umbarrii

BUSH DID NOT DENY THE MILITARY THEIR VOTE.

    • simmss

How about 20 years of scandals and investigations? 20 YEARS.

  • MarkV67

First off, Bush did not lose the popular vote in 2000. Bush actually won the popular vote in 27 of the 50 states wile Gore won the popular vote in 23 of the 50 states. Second off, all those bad economic numbers happened in 2007 and 2008 after the democrats took control of both houses of Congress. It is funny how economic number look good when republicans have majority control of Congress as they did during Clinton years and most of the Bush years. Third off, it took Reagan two years to clean up Carter’s mess which was somewhat worse than the mess that Bush left Obama. We are over five years into Obama’s presidency and the economic growth has been at a snail’s pace. Fourth off, You bozo democrats need to know that we republicans don’t rat’s ass the color of Obama skin. Unlike you bozo democrats who achieve political power by pitting poor against rich, gay against straight, women against man, and black against white, we republicans are color blind. We republicans have only been judging Obama by the success or nonsuccess of his policies. Obama’s policies have neither been successful nor helpful to out of work Americans. It is you democrats that judge people by the color of their skin not the content, of their policies. It is you democrats that are the racists, not us republicans, which is why out of principal I can never join your ranks.

    • Bob G.

Ya you don’t care if a persons skin is black or normal.

    • Cole Markland

      You are INSANE fox groupie.

    • cj

It took quite a bit longer than two years of a democratic rule to create the economic mess we had delved into that resulted in the huge recession of 08. Trickle down does not work, it took about 40 years of perpetuating a failed trickle down policy to cause the recession. Until the republican party comes up with a reasonable approach other than trickle down I will not be a part nor vote for anyone in the conservative party.

      • William Fite

Your right it did not start two years into the democrat control. It started with Carter.

      • Johnst

We should sell arms to Iran to fund our debt. It’s better than using the funds to arm rebels…

“Conservatives” don’t seem to mind us selling arms to Iran much… Let’s do it.

    • Johnst

You are wrong. Gore won the popular vote by just over 500k votes….

      • William Fite

I guess you missed his point. When looking at the states individually Bush won the popular vote in more states then Gore. Hence him winning the majority of the electoral college vote.

      • Ralph Kolstad

w stole the 2000 election by revoking valid voters that were not voting for him and black,,,,especially in florida,,,

    • Ralph Kolstad

oh,,,and dont forget,,,,u also have bachman and palin!!!
2 verrry positive and intelligent individuals,,,,

  • Fedupwiththisshiiiz.

The bottom line is that this congress is the worst joke ever told. Doing whatever they can in the pursuit of more money and power for themselves at the expense of the rest of us. And doing it in such an obscenely blatant fashion that I have such a hard time excepting the reality that people still take them seriously… or believe a damn word they say.

  • William Fite

    1. Bush had an average of 5.1% UE
    2. If you are talking this year, the year is not over. So far by average it could be the highest since 1999. But it still has a long way to go before it can hit the 1984 numbers.
    3. Stocks had hit a record high under Bush too. But as we all know, Obama and Bush don’t control the stock market. This cracks me up when the dems use this point, especially when they go around saying they hate Wall Street.
    4. Good number, Bush had 46 straight months. Both are good numbers.
    5. during that same time frame 5.419 million jobs were lost for a total of 4.23 million jobs created. I will state that Obama came in during a recession, but so did Bush and Bush left with a recession. Please remember that recession was not created by Bush. Policies dating back to the Carter Administration caused the recession or the Housing bubble to burst.
    6. Bush did start two wars and Obama advanced one further by his surge. That one is still going and is his baby.
    7. So by your own data, we don’t know what happened before 2008.
    8. If the deficit has been cut in half, that still means it is higher than the last deficit under Bush.

    Now lets take this further.
    a. IRS Scandal
    b. Fast and Furious Scandal
    c. Benghazi lies
    d. VA scandal
    e. You can keep your insurance and doctor lie
    f. current border crisis. Before you go all wild and blame Bush for this one please remember these facts. The law was a democrat law sponsored by Howard Berman and reauthorized by Obama in 2013. The law in actuality was made to stop trafficking, which the current situation is not trafficking. The law was approved with a bi-partisan vote.
    g. Our friends in Israel are under attack.
    h. Russia and Ukraine situation
    i. Syria is in a mess
    j. Iraq is being over taken by terrorists.
    k. Libya is in a mess.

  • Elvis

Remember when W TOLD the American people he didn’t care where Osama Bin Laden was… SIX MONTHS AFTER 9-11?
Then, his moronic base reelected him, because they were more afraid of gay people?

    Good times…

    • William Fite

Well has getting OBL stopped terrorism?

Why don’t you put in your post the rest of the comment Bush made instead of the part you want everyone to hear?

      • miketothad

Nobody promised to stop terrorism, dumb_ass.

      • William Fite

Obama was saying after he (?) got OBL, that terrorism was going down. Forget about that during the 2012 elections.

By the way you lose all credibility when you start calling people names, that is if you had any from the beginning.

I’ll call you what you are, stupid.
Now, please tell us, how many domestic terror attacks have there been since Obama… I mean, besides your gun fetishist attacks on Mosques and Synagogues.

      • William Fite

None so far, but we did have four Americans killed in a terrorist attack. You can call me stupid all you want, but it is actually you that is being the stupid one or as you put it the DUMBASS.

      • miketothad

None… Thanks for playing. Now run along and find some more Wall St. ass to kiss, Jethro.

      • William Fite

That would be you that is doing the ass kissing. You just got handed a new one and are too much of a DUMBASS to realize it.

      • miketothad

        You handed NOTHING.
Mitt Romney told you idiots that Chrysler moved to China. Why is that? Rush Limbaugh wants you to hate the POPE, now. Why is that? Because they know you’re dumb enough to buy ANYTHING… Like WMD and death panels.

      • William Fite

Now you are lying. He did not say Chrysler was moving to China. Get you facts straight DUMBASS.

Rush has never said he wants us to hate the Pope, you DUMBASS.

You are the one buying into lies, you DUMBASS.

      • miketothad

He DID say Chrysler was moving to China to a crowd of thousands in Ohio, you politically illiterate idiot.

“I feel obliged to unambiguously restate our position: Jeep production will not be moved from the United States to China.” Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne

Come on, man….LOL… You think Rush wants you idiots to LOVE the Pope? Who do you think you’re fooling? Fu***g retard.

      • William Fite

He was talking about Jeep production, not all of Chrysler. That was my point and it flew right over your head.

      • Ralph Kolstad

i suppose u believe global warming is a ploy to get u to spend “greenly”

      • Ralph Kolstad

wouldnt the smart thing be to err on the side of safety?
i would hope that u might agree on this ONE!

      • William Fite

If it was true, maybe. But Al Gore has been caught lying and some of the most well known institutions promoting it has been found to have fudged the numbers. But as we all know climate change has occurred throughout the life of this rock we call earth.

      • Ralph Kolstad

yes,but those who reside in coastal cities r doomed,,,new york, new orleans, la,,,,in 20-50 yrs will be underwater,,,,

when it was discovered it was probably too late already,,,,

      • William Fite

No. Global warming, global cooling or climate change is a way for the democrats to force more taxes on us. Has nothing to do with us spending more “greenly” as you put it. It also is a con game being played on the world. Look how much money Al Gore has made with his speeches.

      • William Fite

You even admit in your comment that he did not say Chrysler, but he was talking about Jeep production.

Please give a credible link where Rush wants us to hate the Pope. Bet you can’t?

      • miketothad

Why don’t YOU put in your post the rest of the comment Bush made? Go ahead… show everybody how dumb you are.

      • William Fite

Who knows if he’s hiding in some cave or not. We haven’t heard from him in a long time. The idea of focusing on one person really indicates to me people don’t understand the scope of the mission. Terror is bigger than one person. He’s just a person who’s been marginalized. … I don’t know where he is. I really just don’t spend that much time on him, to be honest with you.

You must be one of those he was talking about that did not understand the scope of the mission.

      • miketothad

Right… you’ve got nothing. LOOK at you. You even argue like you have the minds of children. Terror is YOU and your dimwit trash party. W lied 4400 of our troops into a one-way trip to Iraq, and you make excuses for him like a lapdog.

      • William Fite

I give you the exact quote. You state I argue like I have a mind like a child. I give you facts and all you have is insults. I believe it is you not me that is the child or using your own words a DUMBASS.

      • miketothad

Your quote proved NOTHING but your own gullibility and your low-IQ. You’re a moron. W and FOx waved the flag, sent our troops off on a pointless mission , then outsourced his Iraq adventure to Halliburton. Yap all you need, you’re an imbecile, which why Mitt Romney ran on policies ensuring that millionaires pay a lower tax rate than a knuckle-dragging flag waving frackwater drinking trickle-down flat-earth dipshit like you.

      • William Fite

I am sorry you missed the fact that Clinton bombed Iraq for the same reason Bush attacked Iraq. What a DUMBASS you are.

When did Halliburton get into the war business. What a DUMBASS you are.

So if Romney wanted millionaires to pay a less tax than I do, that must make me a billionaire. What a DUMBASS you are.

I would rather be a knuckle dragging flag waving frack water drinking flat earth dipshit than A progressive DUMBASS that does know his ASS from a hole in the ground.

      • miketothad

I missed nothing, Jethro. W shoveled taxpayer money to Halliburton, Blackwater and KB, paying 5 to 10X as much as the troops for the same labor. W looked out for the REAL GOP country club. And what did Halliburton do? They moved their HQ to Dubai! You want to drag Clinton into W’s Iraq misadventure…? You’re ignorant AND desperate – just the kind of ignorant bumpkin the GOP needs!

      • William Fite

This is how much of a DUMBASS you are Halliburton has two headquarters. One is in Dubai, guess where the other is? Houston, Texas.

I feel sorry for your mom and dad having to see that their baby grew up to be such a DUMBASS.

      • miketothad

Oh…. and I’m supposed to pretend they didn’t bilk the taxpayers for billions for the same work as the troops? Keep your head in the sand, moron. Keep looking out for those “job creators”.

      • William Fite

You keep changing the topic because you know you have been handed a new one each time.

When did our troops get into the oil and gas industry?

Black water was a bad group. But maybe we ought to pay our troops more money.

      • miketothad

KB and Halliburton do more than oil… smh
        Pay the troops more money…?
Republicans blocked a Senate bill to increase veterans benefits in February!
Thanks for proving my point, illiterate.

      • William Fite

Don’t you think our troops deserve more pay?

So you believe everything you read about that Bill. Go do a little research on why the Bill was blocked. Had nothing to do with the veterans benefits.

For once I wish a liberal would get the facts right.

      • miketothad

        I’ll tell you what I believe…
I believe for every anti-troop legislative example I provide you you’ll come up with an excuse for it. Because you’re lapdog trash, and you stand for nothing more than another man’s greed, and you’re too ignorant to know it. Facts? LOL… So much for W’s “job creators”… Lapdog.

      • William Fite

How does it feel to be torn a new one. When you comeback to reality I will love to have another debate with you. This has been fun. I hope you did not take offense with the name calling. I know I did not. Just part of the game. Goodnight. Tomorrow is another day.

      • miketothad

Torn a new one? Bush left office with a record-tying 22% approval rating. He’s already rated by historians as the worst ever. He left us with rocord job loss, and we have the most people living in poverty since the great depression. LOL. I’m laughing at your colossal, Thanks for the laughs, dumb coward.

    • My usually level headed Sister voted for Bush for his second term because we were in a war and we had to support him. It didn’t seem to matter that he started that war.

  • Kayaker

Who needs Schools, roads, sewer and water, when we can have more war machines!

  • AllAboutAnimals

    Blame Game: Congress VS Commenters!
Commenters perfectly mirror Congress in engaging in quasi-intellectual debates (or simply hurling insults) to fix blame.
The difference is, we didn’t elect the commenters to cooperate in the difficult work of solving complex, large-scale problems.

  • Min Soo Kim

I think there’s a lot of variations, so the reason I put down here might not be sufficient, but:
    – Bush took on two wars, invasion of Iraq and war against Osama Bin Laden, resulting in estimated 3 trillion dollars.
    – When Bush left the office, the US economy was perceived at its lowest, thus President Obama having very little choice but to release more cash in hopes of reviving the economy
    – In 2008, right after Bush left the office, wall street crash led companies like AIG, GM, and others either having to be torn down and sold, or be saved by the government, leaving President Obama very little choice but to release more cash to save these companies (otherwise thousands of jobs would be lost)

So when you look at the number of deficit increase, the deficit increase from Bush resulted from creating war. The deficit increase of President Obama was to save the US economy. I’m sure there are ton of other reasons that might otherwise make this argument invalid, but the most popular information out there are these.

  • LeLoupEnFer

To everybody arguing this point, is the USA not a democracy? Democracy means ‘ruled by the people’, so how can you blame a president for your country’s problems when it is the people (en masse) that elect them? This also surely means that any president is merely a puppet for the people.

So either it is the public who are to blame, or maybe the US isn’t as free and democratic as you believe and it is in fact an oligarchy (‘ruled by few’).

From this I can draw two plans of action:
    a) stop complaining and do something about it
or b) question the true nature of America’s founding principles and your freedom, then either live in oppression or move to somewhere that cares about the public

  • luter

when people start calling other people names its ALWAYS because of a lack of ideas/content – so when Nazis/Fascist/Socialist starts to be thrown around you might as well go home – theres no real discussion to be had

  • Mark Fielding- Pritchard

Reading that is unbelievable. The weapons of mass destruction we did not find. Yes we did not find, but the lie was spread to every corner of the globe and repeated and repeated. In fact it was so successful a lie that Obama repeated it with gas in Syria; and guess what that was sooooo successful that now, according to John Kerry ‘ we have irrefutable proof that Russia shot down that plane’. That’s right John, irrefutable proof, proof that consists of what exactly? Oh that’s right, a Russian soldier who took a selfie. The International Court of Human Rights accepts selfies under article 8 (no it doesn’t) so John was telling the truth (straight from the fiction section). That’s right, the might of the US military machine has a selfie as irrefutable proof. 1 in 3 has no medical cover, during his tenure a million have died in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Ukraine. The US has lied and lied so many times on an international stage that you have fallen below time share salesmen in reputation. You even now have a Brit on TV in John Oliver who has a weekly show highlighting US lies in politics, food etc And things are better? Really? This is the way forward?

    • tonyduncan

better than under bush for certain.but I acknowledge that is a very low bar

      • Mark Fielding- Pritchard

America has so much going for it, why do you need to get involved in these places. If Obama wants to protect the dollar why not invest the money in incentives to get people back to work, encourage technological entrepreneurship etc Why spend billions making foreigners homeless, you guys are supposed to be the good guys.

  • Nicholas

  • Nicholas

(So, when conservatives say that we’re much worse off now than when President Obama took office, LOOK INTO WHAT THEY’RE SAYING because there may be a “SMIDGEN” of TRUTH in their claims

    • tonyduncan

there is always a smidgin of truth in blatant propaganda.
the problem is the republicans are not interested in solutions, just in doing everything to undermine the president.
the economy has not collapsed as we are warned it would. Unemployment has stabilized, Economic growth is relatively stable, and none of the horror stories about the economy or ACA have come to pass.

  • Nicholas

Deficits have been cut in half – among many other things.] REALLY!?

AND NOW FOR THE REST OF THE STORY:

    National Debt added by Presidents-
43 Presidents combined; from Washington to Bush = 10 Trillion Dollars
    1 President from 2008 = 7.6 Trillion Dollars

(So, when conservatives say that we’re much worse off now than when President Obama took office, they’re either blatantly altering history to suit their talking points – or they have absolutely no damn idea what it is that they’re talking about.)

    • tonyduncan

Again, you are ignoring Obama inheriting the worst economic crisis since 1929. He has cut federal spending and the deficit but large amounts, yet the republican propaganda machine has to invent arguments like this to make his policies seem like he caused the recession

  • Nicholas

[The rate of uninsured Americans fell to its lowest level since Gallup starting tracking the number in 2008. Down almost 5 percent in just the last year alone.] REALLY!?

NOW FOR THE REST OF THE STORY:

Thanks to health care reform, the president has a credibility problem with voters. People want solutions, and they’re not getting them from Obama. There’s an opening here for Republicans to make a larger, positive argument, beyond insisting that benefits be offset by cuts.
No Republican is debating whether government should give people in trouble a hand. What is being debated is the point at which those who get emergency benefits for a very long time eventually need to find other ways to support themselves. Putting reasonable limits on what is meant to be temporary help is not cruel, cheap or hard-hearted.

(So, when conservatives say that we’re much worse off now than when President Obama took office, they’re either blatantly altering history to suit their talking points – or they have absolutely no damn idea what it is that they’re talking about.)

    • tonyduncan

so yopu actually have no answer to this point, because the right wing was SCREAMING that ACA was going to be a disaster in very way. That has proven not to be the case, and the fact that republicans have had an excellent propaganda machine that invents scares about this that people believe is not a thing to be very proud about>
the situation would be even better if republican controlled states had not refused to expand medicare.

  • Nicholas

[We haven’t started any wars.] REALLY!?

NOW FOR THE REST OF THE STORY:

Obama participated in the invasion of Libya to overthrow Kadafi. Obama had America’s Pilots fly missions in French Fighter Jets that were launched off french Carriers

And the war in Afghanistan grinds on. According to official Pentagon figures, the U.S. has suffered a total of 1,678 military fatalities in 5.25 years under OBAMA in Operation Enduring Freedom. Under Bush, the casualty rate was 625 fatalities in 7.25 years. Gravely wounded: 16,363 under OBAMA and 2,638 under Bush.

(So, when conservatives say that we’re much worse off now than when President Obama took office, they’re either blatantly altering history to suit their talking points – or they have absolutely no damn idea what it is that they’re talking about.)

    • tonyduncan

this is more nonsense. the war was started by Bush after years of neglect by the UYS from dens and republicans.
This is a war with no likely pstiive outcome and politically a war that was considered “justified”. He still is on schedule to remove all US troops in the near future.
Again what alternate policy would republicans have engaged in that would have stopped americna troops form being killed there?

  • Nicholas

[We’ve created 9.9 million jobs during that span.] REALLY!?

NOW FOR THE REST OF THE STORY:

11,472,000 AMERICANS HAVE LEFT THE WORK FORCE

And, in a stunning admission of the failure of his administration’s job creation policies, he has called for yet another extension of unemployment benefits, which are financed by payroll taxes on employers and employees. When states run out of money to pay the benefits, they borrow from the federal government. If the debt is not repaid, then the feds impose automatic state payroll tax hikes on employers and workers. Fifteen states still owe the feds nearly $20 billion, down from 34 states owing $30 billion. Higher payroll taxes are not good for job growth and hit the working poor the hardest.

(So, when conservatives say that we’re much worse off now than when President Obama took office, they’re either blatantly altering history to suit their talking points – or they have absolutely no damn idea what it is that they’re talking about.)

NOW FOR THE REST OF THE STORY:

But WHILE WAGE EARNERS AND LOW-INCOME PEOPLE STRUGGLE, corporate profits keep setting records. Even after taxes, corporate profits were running at an annual rate of nearly $1.9 trillion in the July-September quarter of last year, the most recent for which figures are available. That’s nearly triple the rate during the three months before Obama became president — an increase of 178 percent.

(So, when conservatives say that we’re much worse off now than when President Obama took office, they’re either blatantly altering history to suit their talking points – or they have absolutely no damn idea what it is that they’re talking about.)

    • tonyduncan

      see my post above.
so do you think a republican president would have closed the gap in wealthy or done anything to limit the huge corporate profits?

  • Nicholas

[We’ve seen the best year of job gains since 1999.] REALLY!?

NOW FOR THE REST OF THE STORY:

The divide between the affluent and ordinary wage earners — which OBAMA called the “defining challenge of our time” — has widened during his time in office.
Wages remain stagnant, barely keeping up with inflation. Average weekly earnings of workers on payrolls, measured in inflation-adjusted dollars, have edged up a scant 0.3 percent between Obama’s first month in office and November 2013, the most recent on record. And there’s no clear upward trend. We reported a 0.1 percent increase in the real earnings figure in our July update six months ago, but that had evaporated by the time of our October update three months later, when the figure was exactly zero.
According to the Census Bureau, this is the first time since 1965 that the poverty rate has remained above 15 percent for three straight years; since 2009, median household income in America has fallen 4.4 percent to $58,000 per year; median household income for black Americans has dropped nearly 11 percent to just $33,519. After five years of “recovery” under the Obama administration, a shocking 46.5 million Americans still live in poverty.

There is a reason more people live in poverty now than when President Obama took office, and that reason is the economic policies he is pursuing. The explosion of federal regulations, the lack of corporate tax reform, the uncertainty as to which federal laws will be enforced and which will not, and the disastrous rollout of health care reform have all taken their toll on consumer and business confidence. The best way out of poverty is a job, and unemployment has remained stubbornly high since Obama took office.

(So, when conservatives say that we’re much worse off now than when President Obama took office, they’re either blatantly altering history to suit their talking points – or they have absolutely no damn idea what it is that they’re talking about.)

    • tonyduncan

      see my post above

  • Nicholas

Where are we at today Under Barrack OBAMA?

Well – NOW FOR THE REST OF THE STORY:

[Unemployment is down to 6.2%.] REALLY!?

The economy continues to gain jobs, but the number of long-term unemployed is nearly double what it was when Obama became president. Additionally, wages are at an all time low and the US Dollar has lost value; the lowest since 2008.
And the number of low-income persons on food stamps (now called Supplemental Nutrition Assistance, or SNAP) continues at near-record levels. The most recent figures from the Department of Agriculture put the number receiving benefits at just over 47.4 million as of October — or 15 percent of the entire U.S. population.
The increase in food stamp beneficiaries is due partly to economic pressures, but also to liberalizations in both benefits and eligibility under President Obama.

(So, when conservatives say that we’re much worse off now than when President Obama took office, they’re either blatantly altering history to suit their talking points – or they have absolutely no damn idea what it is that they’re talking about.)

    • tonyduncan

almsot all the things you mention are a consequence of the financial collapse. As the article states, there are many thing sot fault him on ( as with any president), but when you site these figures you are just ignoring what caused them. could other policies have improved those things? probably, but your response is completely disingenuous

Few actual Republicans would claim bush by policy decision. If he a big D next to his name it would have made more since. Let’s not forget that he added three if the largest big gov. Solutions to our plate along the way and after winning both wars easily, list the peace with time honored pandering and more nieve big government solutions fir a sectarian foreign problem. Had he been a conservative he would have had far better luck with real solutions. Second the idea that the wars were based on lies is political re writings of history. The UN told us for 10 years he had weapons, and everyone in Congress and most Americans wanted a whipping boy to slap down. By going we proved we would act, proved the UN was joke, stopped the oil for food scandal, and scared the rest of the dictators into compliance. Third, it was the banks and wall street along with bad Dem. Policy on housing that caused the crisis and unemployment was simply a result of bad investment and poor fed policy to boot. Obama has been worse on all accounts and we are in worse shape by every measure as a country and government. Only the market us up and that’s cheap money. It’s about to end and they will win on the way down. We will lose. Come on man

  • Michael A Realist Farr

Unemployment is down because more people depend on welfare so why work.
There may be a few more Americans with insurance but it’s at the expense of the tax payer. People all over atlanta have health insurance through the affordable health care act but they don’t pay a dime meanwhile the working middle class like myself have our premiums double monthly cause of regulations but on companies to pay for this nonsense. This year my insurance went from $6k to $10k annually. Just another means to distribute wealth; in other words take money from someone that works their tail off for it just to give it to someone that believes asking “do you want fries with that” is a lifelong career choice!
Also what deficits is this article referring to cause the national deficit is going up but I guess liberals think ass backwards anywho!

    • miketothad

      Don’t hurt yourself “thinking”, champ.

You Americans and your hopelessly broken political system. A candidate who didn’t win a popular vote gaining office shouldn’t even be possible. Just overhaul it already you fat lazy balloon people.

    • StarrGazerr615

The flaw in 2000 wasn’t in the electoral system, but in a renegade Supreme Court that ignored the Constitution in order to install the man their corporate benefactors wanted. Under the Constitution, the State of Florida, not the U.S. Supreme Court, has the final say in matters concerning Electors for President. Florida ordered a recount. The Supreme Court, knowing that the results of the recount would confirm Gore’s victory (as we now know was the case), usurped the State of Florida’s jurisdiction and stopped the recount.
The ironic thing is that for all that conservatives complain about a war on “states’ rights”, the Supreme Court’s actions in Bush v. Gore were the worst example of trampling on States’ rights in violation of the Tenth Amendment in American history.

All politics in America are a joke Obama Sucks! Plain and simple! Oh and if your a liberal get off your ass aka watching liberal media all day long and get a job!

Good article, but you forgot another important detail. George W. Bush didn’t see 1 recession. He Presided over 2!!! There was a mini recession about 2002-2003.

  • mtnhikerdude

93 Million Americans are unemployed under your messiah. Gas was under $3 a gallon when Bush left office. Had 9-11 happened under the B.H.O.’s watch the terrorists would have been awarded Medals .

Reading the comments of the article is blatantly clear that Republicans simply cannot engage in an intelligent argument. It always boils down to racial slurs against Obama and the whole socialist, taking guns, economy growth is an illusion type regurgitations they all hear daily on Faux Newz. Its sad for our country that so many of our citizens are morons.

  • fred

Whyyyyyy do we place such importance on one man

    • miketothad

Because you need a remedial civics class.

  • rataezo

It’s racial and they know it. With that said, I’m a Republican but Voted For Obama because I didn’t want a McCain/Palin ticket. Obama made to many promises and people fed into it. I knew he wasn’t going to accomplish everything. It’s to much to do.

  • Aaron

The author lives in a dream world. The days after the 2008 election, most pundits on both sides were saying the Republican Party was dead. No one would have predicted the clobbering that the Democrats received in 2010.

The reason why Democrats received such a clobbering, though, was not Republicans… but Democratic policy and the way in which they ran everything (very poorly). They even had a super-majority in the Senate for a brief amount of time, and they still wanted voters to believe the lie that they were only unsuccessful because of Republicans (who basically had no say, and had to ride on the back of the bus, as President Obama so eloquently put it.)

Democrats lost their congressional seats on their own merit. Their strategy of completely alienating half of the country by bashing everything Republican, and refusing to work across the aisle (unless Republicans were willing to “compromise” by giving them, the Dems, EVERYTHING that they want) was what put them in the position they are in.

The only thing that is working for Obama right now is that the average American is not smart enough to realize that Reid, not Boehner, is keeping Congress unpopular by refusing to bring anything to a vote (basically to save Obama face, so that hey does not have to explain his vetoes.) IF Republicans did not take the house back in 2010, I bet Obama would not have been re-elected, mainly because he would have no one to blame for his failures but his own party.

    • miketothad

“Reid, not Boehner, is keeping Congress unpopular by refusing to bring anything to a vote”

When you have FOX “News” lying through their teeth and telling people that things have never been worse, then the people who don’t like “libruls” and absolutely HATE President Obama will believe them, despite all evidence to the contrary. But then the right embraces their willful ignorance so long as it allows them to hold on to what they “believe.” And it’s much harder to change a “belief” than it is to change an idea.
Remember in November, and vote Democrat. Throw these bastards into unemployment.

I had to keep checking to see if this was an onion article. All those positive things at the end of it are bad things spun to look good. The debt has grown to a dangerous level so the (still unacceptable huge, huge, gigantic) deficit going down a bit is not a much of a good thing. Most of those created jobs are crap and the underemployment number is very high. The entire nature of the oil industry has changed since Obama has taken office and that is why the price has fallen. Nothing to do with the prez. Doesn’t matter that Bush was horrible, Obama is at best only slightly less horrible but he has a few more years to make a run for worse ever.

Sure, just ignore that the economy tanked after dems took Congress and toasted the housing market. Bush tried 17 times in 2008 alone to get congress to rein in FNMA and FHLMC, but Bawney “There is no crisis” Fwank and his buddies refused to listen. THAT’S what killed the economy, you partisan hack liar. And I don’t have time to look up all the quotes from dems about Saddam having WMD for YEARS, long BEFORE Bush became president. If anyone “lied” about WMD, they lied to Bush too.

To the author, yeah you are an idiot. The worst attack on American soil was not president Bush’s fault. The WMDs that were never found, were actually found and classified so the public would not know about them (I am not in the military anymore, so I don’t care about security classification on something that should have been made public). Obama did not get bin-ladin, that was seal team six, all that idiot in office did was say, yeah get him. Obama did none of the planing, training or execution. Obama has done more to hurt this country than any other president in history. Obama should be put on trial for treason, and if found guilty hung! You sir author need to to get your shit straight!

I think I’m going to throw up. Rewriting the history of the Obamanation, while he is still in office, isn’t even genuine let alone correct. According to the article we we should not hold him accountable for his campaign promises (it wasn’t our expectations of him it was HIS promises to us, including such notables as “If you like your current insurance provider you can keep it.” And “Obamacare will reduce the national debt.”) . We should also, according to the article, give him credit for things he has had no part in resolving, like the current cost of oil. Another pathetic attempt to blame everything bad that Obama has done on GWB.

I would like to see the REDWHACKERS get everything they want this year.

Let them get 50 seats in the Senate. So JOE BIDEN decides all ties!!!
    let them keep the House.

Then other than the swearing in in January… NO DEMOCRATS MAKES A STATEMENT OR ADVANCES A BILL FOR THE NEXT 2 YEARS.

BOEHNER Passes the 55th -295th Repeal the PPACA act. The Senate passes it too, 50-1 with 49 abstensions.

And Obama VETO’s every one of them.

COMPLETE stagnation of the entire RED AGENDA. NO funding for ANYTHING.

Let them DARE to IMPEACH without grounds. The president NEVER has to explain WHY he VETO’s anything. but he should go ahead with all the EXECUTIVE ORDERS he wants. FORCE the rEDS to vote a bill on the floor to challenge it, and OBAMA VETOS IT!!!

It takes 67 votes in the Senate to over ride a VETO!!!!! and the REDS don’t have it.

Now, comes the 2016 campaigns. And the DEMS who didn’t spend all their money THIS year, saturate the airwaves in 2016 with the TRUTH.

“The Republican controlled both houses of Congress for 1 year, and STILL GOT NOTHING DONE. SORRY America, you voted WRONG in the last 3 elections. HOW MANY MORE YEARS CAN YOU AFFORD Republican RULE? VOTE BLUE across the board.”

What could Fox say when the FIRST thing Obama dopes on January 22nd, 2015 is arbitrarily PARDON all the drug convicts in all the prisons funded with federal money in America. Let the Republicans Design jobs bills to keep them busy and SPEND massive amounts of money (RAISING TAXES TO CREATE IT!!!!!) on arming more Police with surplus DOD weapons.

Let them solve the problems they gave Obama. Let them HAVE the Senate… but take back the Government in 2016.

    JUST as a “REMINDER” of what the rest of us like to call B U L L S H I T…

Let’s REVIEW your progressive CRAP, oh, I mean, what you lying SCUM like to call “fact” – but then – when does TRUTH ever matter to DUMBASSES?

“… a couple months later … worse terrorist attack in American history..”

So let’s get this straight: OBAMA after YEARS is STILL blaming EVERYONE ELSE on the planet for EVERYTHING, including Bush, and you are all good with that, INCLUDING the meltdown, housing crisis and subsequent financing, etc. – but Bush is somehow “responsible” for TERRORISTS that from their OWN decision attacked us – OH and only a couple months into his admin? Huh. How about …. YOU’RE FULL OF SHIT (obvious BIAS from the start)

    “…Iraq… weapons of mass destruction…”

OOPS…. What do you know? Oh Yea! NOW they are fricking publishing non-stop reports of WMD’s that were found / just prior buried / causing my fellow Marines, etc. massive medical problems. But guess THAT means nothing huh?

Afghanistan / Osama? You REALLY DARE to mention Afghanistan OR Osama in the same breath as Obama and try to use that to elevate Obama / denigrate Bush? First POS – It was the SEALs that popped Obama, NOT your beloved (aka SCUM) Obama. FACTS ARE that Obama did NOT want to go after him. OVER and OVER they had chances and OVER and OVER DILLROD kept saying “Oh, gee, let me think about it”. ONLY after OTHERS finally said “LOOK DICKHEAD – I’LL take responsibility if things go wrong, but LET the SEALs do their damn job!” did they FINALLY get Osama. But to be MORE direct – are YOU (aka POS) saying we should NOT have attacked Al Q in Afghanistan? Maybe YOU (aka POS) would prefer that the United States COWAR and NOT go after this dirt bags?
Gas Prices? REALLY? That’s YOUR slam on Bush and your elevation of Obama? Wow – Let’s take a LOOK at your “facts” (WHAT A SCUM BAG – You Progressives LOVE to ignore what the REST of the world calls FACTS!)
When BUSH left office the avg per gallon was HOW MUCH? OH – $1.85/gal. NOW since Obama the prices SKYROCKETED his ENTIRE TERM, not a ONE OFF Period as a result of being attacked. OBAMA has WILLFULLY and INTENTIONALLY PUSHED (as he PROMISED!) gas prices higher so they are now an avg. $3.78 (Cal. Well over $4/gal)
Wait? SCANDALS? REALLY! You call “who outed a CIA op” a horrible “scandal” as how good Obama is relative? SO… Bengazi Scandal? IRS Scandal? Gun Running to Mexico Scandal? Snowden Scandal? Release of HISTORY of CIA documents Scandal? “Executive” coverage for Holder / Refusal to release documents REQUIRED by LAW to Congress Scandals? Disclosures Obama REQUIRES WH Press Corps to have ALL their articles first APPROVED -AND- Edited by WH prior to distribution means nothing? NUMEROUS Obama-Care Scandals? BLM Scandals? Solyndra and VARIOUS OTHER related Scandals (and kick back schemes)? ON and fricking ON the list goes – MAJOR attacks on our freedoms, rule of law, TRASHING the constitution, setting himself up as a damn King, going AROUND congress, INTENTIONALLY INSTALLING a head of Justice that will NOT Prosecute ANYTHING Obama is doing and when questioned WHY – Obama covers it with “Executive Privilege”? YOU ARE A DUMB ASS!
Loss of Jobs? YEA! AWESOME! Let’s talk about that one!
So CLINTON and the DEMOCRAPS are the ones that REMOVED the controls from both the Banking market and Housing Market (Fannie / Freedie) the were EXPLICITLY THE CAUSE OF THE BANKING / HOUSING CRASH – NOT Bush – CLINTON. It was the Republicans that FOUGHT AGAINST that move! This COST of a LOT of jobs and over 1 Trillion is recovery money (that was STUPID to do). But wait – YOU SAY – “but… Obama has restored jobs”. But I say “YOU’RE STILL A DUMB ASS” not matter how much CRAP you try to use as Icing. Why? Don’t forget it was OBAMA and his LibTard Team that knew they had NO idea how to foster an environment that would create jobs, so instead what did they do? REMEMBER THIS? They CHANGED (OVER FRICKING NIGHT) how Unemployment is calculated. VIOLA! A LOT of people are not magically “employed”. THEN, each month they simply DROP OFF THE LIST a CRAP LOAD of people that SHOULD be considered Unemployed – but NO…. since they have been unemployed for “too long” – just DROP them off the list! VIOLA! Less Unemployed. Next – they dumped over $1 TRILLION into the GOVERNMENT for hiring people – VIOLA! More people Employed. But wait – those are TEMPORARY Jobs and this creates a HUGE Debt problem and we WANT SMALL Government (lest we become a COMMUNIST/SOCIALST entity – like ALL FAILED Governments that went that way!). Who cares huh? NOT YOU DIRT BAGS! OH but there is more! NOW Obama has ENCOURAGED companies to MOVED over seas and with the implementation of ObamaCare (THANKS For THAT Socialist / Country Ruining NIGHTMARE!) – these companies are now only hiring PART TIME Employees and GETTING RID of the health care that we USED to have! THANKS DICKHEADS!
So… How are those TAXES working for you? The HIGHEST TAXES in countless years – except when you go back to what caused THE DEPRESSION!
So… How are those personal Freedoms for you? OH YEA, we are now considered 23rd on the list of FREEDOMS! We WERE #1 UNTIL Clinton and made a DRAMATIC DROP since Obama!
So… How are those RACE RELATIONS since Obama? OH YEA – THEY ARE SHIT NOW!
So… How is YOUR Job doing since Obama? Have YOU had nice sized pay raises OR Pay / Benefits cut or stagnant for the LAST 8 Years Nearly!
So… How are those Gas prices for you?
So… How do YOU consider our Global Relations with our allies SINCE OBAMA? With countries we USED to be doing a LOT better with? SINCE Obama – what has happened with our relationship with Israel? How about… Russia (that is NOW TAKING OVER COUNTRIES/Threatening Us/Violating SALT Treaties ALL SINCE OBAMA!)
So… How is our National Debt SINCE Obama? BEFORE Obama it was 8 Trillion – SINCE Obama it is now nearly 21 TRILLION!!
So… How is our national credit rating? OH YEA, BEFORE OBAMA it was A+++ – SINCE Obama it has been DOWNGRADED TWICE!!! Our ENTIRE US HISTORY TRASHED THANKS TO OBAMA from a credit rating perspective.
Yea, KISS you Messiahs ASS and IGNORE HISTORY!
YOU ARE A DUMB ASS IF YOU ARE A LIBERAL / PROGRESSIVE / DEMOCRAP or ANYONE that Supports this POS Obama!

    • Nicholas Mohawk Stoffel

as said by a good friend of mine quite truthfully.

  • James Novotny

The unrealistic promises that you refer to were Obama’s campaign promises. He has only filled one of the major ones and it took his party, while in complete control, 2 years to accomplish. The Congressional blockage is on Harry Reid’s desk waiting to go to Senate Committees. 350 bills sent from The House and squashed by Harry. That terrorist attack you speak of came after a Democrat President (Clinton) refused to kill Bin Laden on the three occasions he had. Result over 3,000 dead on our soil. And when you talk about 2008 you are talking about a time when the Democrats had been in control of both houses of Congress. During that time they refused to heed several warnings about the mortgage crisis.
For those of you who keep blathering about the Iraq war what would you have done in response to 9/11? Cut off their Netflix, or ban them from Disney World? With ISIS we can see how far that would get you.
The reduced deficit is due mainly to the Sequester (remember those evil Republicans doing that). The largest part of job growth is part time and service jobs. Then number of jobs created is not enough to put those who lost their jobs after 2008 back to work and provide jobs for those just entering the workforce. Stocks are up because that’s the only place people with money can grow their money. You won’t get that from investing in government bonds or looking for interest on bank accounts. Finally, I love the statement about health insurance. Sure it’s down but only because the government forced people to get it. The cost is way up and is going to get much higher by 2016. We’ll know in a week or so just how much it will leap this coming year.
O.K. one more thing. Stop saying someone is “racist” if they oppose the brutal tactics of Islam. It’s not a race it’s a cult.

  • Kristy Hughes

Okay… Obama DID NOT get Bin Laden. Man, just got lucky that he was finally found while he was the president so he can claim credit.

Republicans lie and speak GOP rhetoric BS

  • Hobart Hoskins

Funny how both parties like to distort facts. If you think that the economy is good, you are bat poo crazy. More people do have more expensive and lower coverage health insurance. More people are employed by the govt. Deficits and spending are as out of control as always. Gun control instead of criminal control does absolutely nothing for gun crimes. We are still engaged in the same stupid wars. Gas prices are still ridiculous. I am an American, not a republican or a democrat. Life for the majority of people is no better than it was in 2008. Bush, Obama and Carter are the worst presidents. Each was as bad as the other. You can distort the facts from a democrat study or republican study. The real facts are that Americans are still suffering just as much today as they did before Bush or Obama.

    • Rob Bailey

You must live in Colorado and partake heavily. Very heavily. 1 – healthcare insurance and deductibles have been rising for years, and ER ‘coverage’ cost more than cons ever realized. 2 – only about 25 of the population are government employees, about half what it was under Johnson in the 60’s. 3 – Deficits? Half of what they were under Bush. 4 – OK, so your a ammosexual. It’s clear that states with highest gun ownership and lax laws have more gun deaths. Aw, but schucks – 2nd! Whats 30,000 dead a year, another 70,000 maimed? 5 – No we’re not – 5000 dead Americans because of Cheney, few hundred thousand dead Muslims. No wonder they love us so much. 6 – Liar. It’s clear you’re a Fox-watching con. 7 – Gas is under $2. 8 – Bee Ess. Tell that to the couple-million that LOST their jobs in 2008.

    • R. Eilers

Actually a million LESS people are employed by the govt and that doesn’t even count all the military that went home…FINALLY. Gun control? What gun control? Name one thing Obamas done to control guns. The stock market is almost TRIPLE what Bush gave obama. Deficits are now a THIRD of what Bush gave Obama. Open your eyes teatard, if not for Bush and Reagan allowing the rich to own everything our economy is the best it’s ever been since Clintons huge tech bubble

  • Mark Gruben

Looking back, I think the nation was too stunned after 9/11 to realize what a mediocre president Bush was – and what a dangerous vice-president Cheney was. In my own case, it was during the Valerie Plame incident, the outing of a CIA operative, that I began to make this realization. What really provoked it was Cheney’s comment that Valerie Plame “is fair game” for exposure. I remember thinking……Ms. Plame works for the government! The same government headed by Bush and Cheney!! Her bosses, for crying out loud, elected by We The People, have put her very life in jeopardy!!! And they have the gall to say that she’s “fair game!?!” Think about that for a minute: How’d you like to have YOUR boss consider YOU in that way? Use those words about you? As something that may as well be target practice! And Cheney, a long-time hunter, who around this same time, accidentally shot a man in the face with a shotgun during a hunting trip. Was alcohol involved? No comment. Of course, Mr. Vice-President. So,…..how many of you hunters out there have ever shot someone? In the face? OK, yes, it happens now and then. But does the victim later APOLOGIZE to the shooter for “getting in the way?” And Bush, during all of this? Not a word, even though it had happened in Texas, not all that far from the Bush ranch. Did Bush even know it had occurred? Was he stupid? Unaware? Uncaring? Or just told to keep his mouth shut?

I do not want to return to the Bush years. Didn’t he have a DEMOCRATIC majority at some point? Seems to me the Public forgets it IS overall the LEGISLATIVE BRANCH–ie Senate and House– of the Government that determines what may or may not be passed at the Federal level. The PRESIDENT is the Figure Head to Approve passage of laws from both houses yet BOTH IMO–regardless of parties in charge–have been corrupted by Corporations/Lobbyists, etc.The President can only sign in to law a Bill passed by both houses. Yet the Bill itself might be primarily 1 thing yet have oodles of “pork” or facets that have nothing to do with the Primary Bill, yet a President may pass it to enact what is needed even if additions promote new taxes or other things NOT related to the Needed thing. “Read my lips, no new taxes”—Sr. Bush said this yet whatever bill was passed was possibly needed more so the “promise” made was broken. Given the Presidential terms and lack of Senate/House limits (those elected can serve the years decided and YET unlike the PRESIDENT which has been limited to 8 consecutive years- 2 terms, the Senate and House HAVE NOT). The President was not meant to be an elected King. Those serving in the House and Senate were not meant to serve forever. Yet there are those in both that have served longer than ANY PRESIDENT since George Washington. And FDR was the last President to serve longer than 8 years (primarily perhaps due to WW2 breaking out during the last years he was alive–and that is when 8 years–2 terms consecutive were decided for the Presidency–by Congress–House and Senate. So maybe the term limits originally set should be adhered to (i.e.. if I recall correctly 2 for one, 6 for the other) and once 2 consecutive terms are served (4 and 12) then OTHERS are allowed to be elected in. Thing is, people are always going to Blame The HEAD Figure for any failure regardless of full Government Set-up.

How was a terrorist attack his fault? It was bush’s operatives that got bin laden n under Obama’s presidency(every time Obama takes credit a member of seal team six is outraged) most of the military hates Obama for good reason. I’m not saying go back to bush but I am saying that he was a far better president than the one who ignored bengazi and then lied about it to Americans.

    • R. Eilers

Bush was told by Clinton an attack was eminent. Bush chose to ignore it. Bush on national tv told us bin Laden was not important. Benghazi? Really? Get over it. Bush had a hundred people die on his watch in embassies. Obama is the Commander in Chief of the seal teams. Obama is the boss. Obama gets the credit

  • jordan

Here’s the thing. Conservatives are idiots. Liberals are idiots. Until we find a middle ground nobody is right. Let’s agree that while Obama may be terrible many agree bush was bad but is any president perfect?

  • Amanda

Don’t want a Bush back, but sure do not want to do another Obama either. Since I can remember, race relations are worse than they have been in the past 30/40 years. Progressives: How has the poor voting democrat been working for ya? VOTE LIBERTARIAN.

  • Wit

Or – conservatives are talking about how much worse it is for THEM, their agenda, their way of life and their POV rather than how bad it got for the poor, the middle class, the disenfranchised and basically everyone else who isn’t a conservative, a gun toting Dittohead right wing Republican Christian. It just totally sucks not having the playground all to yourself, huh?

  • Van

People on this post are so mean! (And this article is filled with errors – most of what this says isn’t true – you all know that, right?) Republicans are good people. Democrats are good people. There are intelligent people on both sides, and both ideologies have their strong points. They’re both viable options, and we should be allowed to choose without being called names. How about we do what the Founding Fathers intended — compromise and continue to improve the country together?

“Progressives” demand a regressive tax scheme. Sheesh.
Progressives want to pay people so they “don’t have to work”. Hmmmm.
Progressives increased the food stamp program to 47 million people. Tsk tsk.
Progressives want to appease Muslim terrorists so to make it easier for them to attack. Yikes.
And on and on it goes.

    • R. Eilers

George Bush’s Great Recession increased the foodstamp program to 47 million people. Obama didn’t change one single thing to the program. The foodstamp program also doubled under Bush

  • Victor Breaux

This article is completely inaccurate and misleading.

  • JamesDJ

You just don’t get it. Spewing facts is a violation of everything America stands for. Karl Rove said it best, when he spoke to Ron Suskind of The New York Times, 10/17/2004:

The aide said that guys like me were “in what we call the reality-based community,” which he defined as people who “believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality.” … “That’s not the way the world really works anymore,” he continued. “We’re an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you’re studying that reality—judiciously, as you will—we’ll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that’s how things will sort out. We’re history’s actors…and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.”

There is no philosphical/political defense for the George W. Bush presidency. It failed by any measure beyond incompetent posturing and expediency.

To this day he is utterly incomprehending of how much damage he did.

    Clueless then, clueless now.

I only wish Republicans had the decency to feel at least a little shame on inflicting that idiot on this country.

    • R. Eilers

Oh Bush totally comprehends how much damage he’s done. He even admitted it. Bush wouldn’t even talk to his vice president his last year in office they had such a different vision for the country. Bush never understood politics and quit being a politician the day he left office. He knew he sucked at it and he admitted it

You know what Al Clifton, the Democratic Party had control of both the Senate and the House of Representatives as of Jan 2007. So while you talk about Republicans controlling them now you must remember that the Stock Market was near highs in 2007 when the Democratic Party took over Congress and then it collapsed. As far as the World Trade Center Bombing didin’t those men who came into this country and hit the towers from Boston get into the country during the Clinton Administration and they were at school? As far as not having any weapons of mass destruction yes we did not find them but that does not mean they were not there when we first went into Iraq. It only means that we didn’t find them and in one form thank God.

The country is going in the right direction for the first time since Clinton was in office, this is common knowledge for the majority of America and most of the world, but some are in denial. Some of you need to look in a mirror for what the problem with America is. This is common knowledge to the majority as well.

  • Kyle Allen Gregg

Yeah and record numbers of filibusters..comments like “were going to do everything we can to hault this president” shutting down the government…are ALL examples of leadership right? All things Obama has had to deal with from the republicans while in office.

  • Erin Everest

Wait…Obama is supposed to be the president?? I thought he was some pop-up celebrity like Kim Kardashian? I mean isn’t he like the star of the vacation reality television show? We as Americans are sending him on monthly vacations so they can be recorded and broadcasted. FFS I have all of them recorded on TiVo! My favorite episode still has to be “Obama goes on a $4,000,000 Hawaiian vacation.”

Baloney! That 6.2 unemployment rate is misleading. It does not include people who have giving up looking. Largest expansion since 1990? I don’t think so. Wages are still flat and nobody is hiring except minimum wage. 9.9 million jobs? Where. Stock market growth has been the result of no inflation to speak of.

Every business owner I know is reporting sales flat or declining, including myself. I am off 15% from last year this time. The only thing that changed is that people are more pessimistic about the direction this country is going.

No new wars? Then what are we going to do about ISIS? Negotiate with them? Appease them? Well it doesn’t work. You need force to deal with cutthroats.

Okay, honestly I’m a full on republican but seeing these comments is just embarrassing. I understand that we have different points of views and both see each other as “ignorant” but it’s still wrong to make assumptions based on someone’s political view point. Not all Democrats are government mooching liars. And not all Republicans are war mongering rednecks. Please stop stereotyping everyone. We all have our reasons for believing what we believe and not all of us are trying to “destroy” the country.

ok, firstly…the popular vote is not counted in a Democraic “REPUBLIC”…that is why we have Reps rom every state idiot…Secondly…even your beloved Hill and Bill Clinton admitted Iraq had weapons of mass destruction….thye actually proved it when they killed thousands of their CITIZENS with Nerve gas.Thirdly…Bush’s only one of two failures was to contain the Liberals who blackmailed Banks into making unfit and unqualified “100% LOANS to indigents and people who had no inclination on making the payments..which led to your 4th wrong conclusion….the Jobs left due to the crash of our banking system due to the push by Libs on loosening all the requirements and rules of our Mortgage industry of which “BUSH FAILED TO INTERVENE AND ABOLISH…SINCE THAT TIME…FNMAE AND FDMAC HAS LEFT THE BUILDING! KNOWING WHAT THEY HAD DONE! THOUGHOUT HISTORY IF YOU REALLY FOLLOW “FACTS” WHICH I DO KNOW IS A SUPER DIFFICULT TASK FOR LIBERALS….YOU’D FIND THAT WHEN A DEM IS IN OFFICE…WE SINK! THEN A CONSERVATIVE MUST STEP IN AND CLEAN UP THE MESS! SO GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT ….DEMS HAVE BEEN BEHIND EVERY DISASTER IN OUR 200 YEAR HISTORY..ONE BY ONE…THERE IS NO DEFENSE….AND BUSH, WHILE NOT PERFECT…IS NOT AN AMERICA HATER SUCH AS OBAMA!!

When oil was $147 per barrel, my portfolio was at an all time high. Just the past two weeks it is dropping faster than Cosby’s pants. The Navy seals tell us it was them and not obama who got Bin Ladin. As for the election in 2010, and the one recently, majority these gutless republicans voted with the man who hates America. (Google what the secret service says about him.) Thats why Trump is so popular, he loves the USA and not muslims. And the mass weapons you mention. Almost every democrat including the lying(all her life) hillary, said they had them. They have a site called fact check, start looking in to it. Oh that’s right. FACT CHECK. that is scary for the gems.
